There is a Nintendo direct this September, and as far as I know, evidence is pointing to an Fe4 remake. Pray to Naga with me, comrades, as we desperately hope for the one true fire emblem. Apply your clown makeup, brothers and sisters, for as long as the Nintendo direct is here, we have hope.

I made a very poor financial decision and bought a switch 2 solely for the potential of an FE4 remake. I bought it, made sure it turned on, and then put it right back in the box.
But I doubt the remake will be faithful and they will butcher the story, gameplay, or worse, both. I want the game to be the EXACT same with a few tweaks like buffing Due so that he can clear the arena better. But I do think a remake will happen as its one of if not the most popular title in japan.
I just want to see Finn, the true hero of Jugdral.

I mean FE Echoes and SD were pretty faithful to their og games (for better or for worse). Let’s just hope Sigurd doesn’t get his own Kris. That would be bad.

Honestly if Kris was just some rando I wouldn’t have a problem with them at all, but the game has to obnoxiously rewrite marth to be constantly glazing me to the point that he sounds like he’s about to leave Caeda for me lmao. The other games aren’t much better, everyone acts like you’re the second coming of jesus (and, in the case of Three Houses/Engage, you pretty much are). They need to stop doing that.
Although, I’d be kinda interesting if they made you create a character in the first gen, then you get to use the equivalent of Morgan/Kana in the second. But they probably just shouldn’t go there at all.

I’ve always said that a FE4 remake in today’s climate would be nigh impossible without some massive changes.
For one, the game is impressively dark. Incest, slavery, child sacrifice, rape… it’s all here, even if you go out of your way to avoid the better (read: more incestous, usually) pairings… and completely forget about Azelle mentioning the rape of his mother like, immediately. FEH outright omits how much is going on or why whenever it represents FE4, at least in English.
With Nintendo wanting to be seen first and foremost as family-friendly now, at least with first-party releases, and modern FEs not scraping above T for Teen, it’d either be a gamble to present a gritty and true-to-form-FE4, or they could smudge some things to avoid the more controversial parts, which I believe 3H was testing the waters to do with the Crests.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, FE4 is one of the few games where I could see an Avatar character working, since the game itself had some characters with less personality than others due to the nature of conversations and the lack of Supports. It could even use the turned to stone idea from Kaga’s draft that was shamelessly stolen from Dragon Quest V. There are no playable characters who carry Dáinn’s blood, either.

I believe it is possible, but unlikely. I think a fe6 remake is more likely thanks to that interview quote and fe7 being popular.
Or maybe a switch 2 edition of fire emblem three houses? That game kinda feels like it could succeed from a switch 2 edition. Both in terms of making the game better and there being financial success.
In terms of what I would want: A fire emblem game that embraces ironmanning and permadeath, even if by doing so the game will become less hardcore.

If a hypothetical remake were bad/unfaithful or whatever, that could still be a positive outcome in the long term if it raises awareness of multiple older games that were remade.
Or it supersedes the original in the casual consciousness and 90% of Jugdral discussions and I as an Archanea fan get to laugh at “sympathize with” others for getting their game replaced by mid.
