What's the plot, then? What kind of jukebox musical gives everyone exactly one song?
okay so basically
imagine Cats, but with the dies emblem cast
and whoever wins the jellicle ball gets to go back to the real world
and there are a ton of flashbacks to dies emblem 1
this will make millions
Some of these pairings seem like stretches. Did you have any restrictions? Why is X song only an 'honorable mention'?
THE RULES
No repeating bands. Repeating people is fine so long as they’re not performing under the same group (e.g., Rivers Cuomo doesn’t conflict with Weezer despite the former being in the latter).
No songs created for video games or plays. One (arguably two?) exception to this has been made.
The playlist (and thus all songs within it) must be appropriate to play during a long road trip with your dad.
Each isekai’d member of the Dies Emblem cast must receive one song.
Song lyrics can be tweaked a bit to fit the ““narrative””. For example, the word “you” can be replaced with “me”, changing the perspective a song is sung from.
Why is the playlist shorter than the track list on the spreadsheet?
I don’t like The Brainwasher and Milkshake, so I cut them from the playlist so that they don’t interrupt casual listening.
Why would you do this?
I have autism and like pairing things.
Did you have help?
Before the public release of this list (via this post), this was a solo effort, except for one successful phone-a-friend and two unsuccessful ones.
I am open to changing paired songs upon request, and have already done so for at least one Dies member.

I was going to request a song, but Don’t Want to Miss a Thing is a good song and an excellent joke, so good job on that.
