Just started this the other day and am absolutely in love with it. Fantastic stuff, it deserves way more attention than it currently has.
Just got my first master seal and am met with the same question I have with every FE game, romhack and mainline - when’s the “optimal” level to promote? Or at least an advisable level!
Also, since I’m here, any advice on what to use forge materials on? General or specific? I’m the type of JRPG gamer to foolishly hold on to resources forever because I’m afraid of “wasting them”, but also I could easily see myself making things way harder than they need to be - I’m guessing I can ignore forging iron weapons, but other than that I’m happy for any advice here. I have a stockpile of materials but I have used a few on some characters’ PRFs and Flower’s claw, but that’s about it.
Thanks for playing! I’m not sure there’s an optimal level. Personally, I promote before either of the two major early game challenges (final swamp or mountains map). Otherwise, maybe try ~15-20?
In terms of what to forge, I mostly splurge on the silver weapons. There is an unforger though, so you aren’t permanently out on anything
Ok awesome! Sounds great, thanks. Also great to know about the unforger, I might go hog wild then! Though - is that free or is there some kind of cost?
Also wanted to mention something, don’t know if this is intentional but I’m guessing not (or at least not fully): I’ve noticed a few instances where enemies don’t have enough CON to wield the weapon they’re carrying, essentially making them useless/farmable. I noticed it a few times in th3 intro chapters with some of the freelancer (? I forget the name) enemies, and maybe a couple other times after - but it’s really noticeable so far on Millin’s Isle early on, as all the axe enemy reinforcements spawn unable to use their weapon.
Which is great for me and my pocket poacher lol, buuut wanted to bring it up regardless.
Hey so trying to open the game through lt-editor but it keeps saying it’s missing “fonts does not exist” in “resource” folder. Where can I find the fonts?
Since you have the lt-editor anyway, you can nab the proper fonts from the default project and just copy-paste it into the same location in The Unbroken Thread’s folder
Appreciate the help which I did, was able to open the game through editor but when I tried to test full game or a single chapter, I get an engine crash error message. Something about attribute nonetype or something. I’ll see if I can find an older version of lt-editor.
Hey sorry, maybe I’m missing something obvious but where is the unforger? I’m right at the endgame(s) and feel like I haven’t seen anything that would allow me to do that.
Hmmm thank you, but I’m still stumped! There’s the arena which I can’t enter anymore, the bar that has Lysander and a random NPC, the forging material shop, an empty house with a staircase with nothing I can interact with, the stat item/master seal shop, and a house in the lower left corner with two guard NPCs standing outside of it I can’t enter.
Is it tied to a loyalty mission or something? I never unlocked Boudica’s or Lupus’.
Sorry to rehash this and I’m not trying to be annoying, but thought I’d try again just to see what’s up. I paused my playthrough until I figured this out cuz it seemed like a pretty useful feature I didn’t wanna miss just in case (if it’s in there), now I wanna play the game again so just wanted to check before continuing either way! @SP776
Ok thank you, if it’s in the house in between the stat booster/master seal shop and the forging materials shop I’m guessing then my game might just be bugged. There are no interact prompts in there and I did another lap around Pelopos pressing A everywhere again (including in that house). Playing v1.1 through the downloadable .exe if that makes a difference. Thanks again for your help!
