AlemOwl's image compendium

It’s been a while since I uploaded new portraits, two weeks ago, but I think the main reason I haven’t uploaded much recently is due to resting more from making portraits at a fast pace, alongside being busy with my studies. Yeah, my wisdom tooth operation didn’t actually bother me too much at still doing things like this.

And since I haven’t really able to get some portraits done before November ends, I decided to add a miscellaneous post that I missed back when I finished Lucario’s portraits back in July. As a hint for the last portraits for this year tho, almost all of them unintenionally have white as a main color. As a bigger hint, the next portrait is from a character that debuted in a weapons fighting game released in 2005.

This will be located above in the Other/Observation only section.

Lucario Cafe Remix and other outfits 2025

Full color version

The Cafe Remix outfits for Lucario were a bit easy to make thanks to either already combining with Lucario’s main eye colors and mouth frames, or covering its torso, which made it so that I could give it more white tones to it. The chef outfit was a bit more difficult to make than the main staff one, more so due to the chef hat that’s a bit more smaller here, even in a different style, so I’ll see if I do an alt of it. Otherwise these outfits were fun to make, some of my favorite ones for Lucario. They also have blush alts to reference the game they’re from.
The FE14 Spear Fighter outfit was made mainly so that I could have one FE outfit for Lucario, and one that would fit for this character fighting-wise. This one was mainly based on a concept art of this class, and it was simple to make for the most part, and it was nice to make to practice more at shading clothes. I also made an alt of it torn in half, ala battle damage alt (which, upon realising long after making this, is something I forgot Fates had) or main outfit alt for Lucario.

Well, after almost one month has passed, I have finally managed to get done a portrait of a character I wanted to make. I especially got busy due to finishing a final project for a class I was in last saturday and also setting up a PS2 that one of my uncles gave me and start to play it. I mainly just played some Guitar Hero games, but since this is the actually the first time I ended up owning a Playstation, other than a PSP that stopped working right before the 2010’s started IIRC, I’m now able to get and play games that were exclusive for that console. One such being Soul Calibur 3.

SC3 is one of the few main games of the Soul series that I haven’t played just yet, other than Soul Blade (also originally known as Soul Edge) and SC5 (and that one’s because I really don’t have too much interest in playing it lol). The main reason is because that game was a Playstation exclusive, even tho the previous entry was also available for XBOX and Nintendo GameCube, so I never was able to play it. But thanks to having a PS2, I’m able to play it once I find a copy of it. As an entry in the franchise, I would say it’s worth playing. The main issue it would have tho would be a pretty nasty glitch that involves saving the game after playing one of its game modes, in a memory card that already had saved games, which for some hellish reason ends up corrupting the memory card you ended up saving it in. Other than that and some other minor bugs and balancing issues, it’s a good game to play.

The portraits will be located above in the main post, under the F2E - Other Videogame Franchises section.

Soul Calibur 3 - Zasalamel

Mirrored alt

Full color alts

The eternal, mysterious scythe wielder from the 3rd Soul Calibur series. I do like his outfit from SC5 more, since it’s pretty much a great combination of his previous main outfits, but I ended up making this one to conmemorate the 20th anniversary of the game he appeared in for the first time. It’s for the most part color friendly imo, since he mainly has his white cloak and grey armor pauldrons, alongside his yellow right eye, which don’t end up being used that much in the overall portrait, so recolors of this would be easy to make. Although I would maybe improve the chest area of his outfit if I end up revisiting it, since I’m not 100% satisfied at how I came out, but I’ll leave it like this until I figure out how to do it well. I also put an image above that shows the simmetry for his mirrored alt.

Zasalamel: I’m impressed that you made it this far. Not bad at all. My dream is about to be realized. You however, are no worthy of witnessing this glorious moment. Leave this place at once.

Well, I just got this next portrait done, just right when season 5.5 of Marvel Rivals released. Although it’s a bit ironic since a trailer for the next season has already been showcased in the game awards yesterday (seeing which character it featured and the day the game awards happened tho, I guess it makes sense that they released a trailer for the next season).

Anyways, just like I promised, I ended up making Rogue’s portrait, right after releasing Gambit’s the previous month. And just like him, Rogue’s portrait is actually based a bit more on her comics appearance rather than her Marvel Rivals one. Also when making her portrait is where I finally noticed and acknowledged that comic book characters are the ones that have more varied and often times inconsistent designs and outfits, at least when compared to anime and videogame characters imo. Mostly due to Rogue having her hair drawn differently even if it’s just the long hair style, and her bodysuit that’s covered a bit by her jacket also changing in color at times in the shoulders part. Although this one was a fun one to do tbh, and when the time is right, I might make more alts of her in the future.

Speaking of Marvel, I’ve just played Marvel Cosmic Invasion with my brother. Fun game, and a big throwback to good old 90’s beat em up games of that time. Pretty cool that while based on those games, it does end up having a good amount of content, which would be obvious by the amount of characters it has, but it also has various levels to fight across, and the campaign is fun to go in so far.

With this, I have two December portraits done. After this, I might make at least one or two character portraits, and then on Christmas I’ll see if I’m able to get some extra pixel art stuff done, and finally rest for a few days before coming back.

The portraits will be located above in the main post, under the F2E - Non-Videogame Franchises section.

X-Men - Rogue

Green Jacket Alt

No Jacket Alt

Full Color Alts

The lovely southern power/life stealer mutant that debuted right as the 80’s began. Also called Titania in the latin-american dub of the 90’s X-Men animated series. This one might be a little trickier when it comes to working around her color palette, even when compared to Gambit. I think that’s due to her having more colors that don’t come from any clothes, like having two different hair colors for starters (brown and white) using green for her eyes and also having some red lipstick, which gets removed entirely for these portraits in specific. I ended up mixing her lightest hair tones with some of the skin ones so that I could have more space for colors, including some for the jacket. Imo the brown jacket ended up looking better than the green one, but there’s option for the two if you’d like.
The hair was definitely the part that took me the most to make, since it was pretty large so I had to be careful at shading it well, and also having to do two hair colors instead of just one. I decided to stick with this long hair style from the Rogue reference I found since it would be easier to make than making it more spikier/puffier than it would be, although I would be down to try more hair styles for her. Just make sure it fits the hackbox since this one was already in the limit at times.
I’m pretty glad at how this one turned out overall, so if I end up revisiting her, maybe I’ll change her jacket since that might be the part that could use more tries to do better, but for now it’s decent looking for me.

Edit: I fixed the jacket portraits, since I didn’t realize part of them were missing on Rogue’s mouth frames until now. They’re there now, so hopefully there shouldn’t be other problems similar to this.

Well, it’s already christmas at some places in the world, like Australia, so I guess it would be nice to finally release a portrait I was working on.

I’ve ended up being a bit lax/unfocused regarding making portraits recently since I was busy with other hobbies I’ve spending time on, like uh watching videos, and playing some games I left before I was able to resume them, mainly ones that I’m able to play with my brother, and pretty much being busy with the holiday season as a whole. Guess that’s what happens when you’re not really working on a project. We’ll see if I end up having something done for the next year, or maybe not. We’ll know once we’re there.

Anyways, at least this portrait kind of fits for the christmas season, being a dark version of a winter spirit and all. Idk if I ended up rushing this one a bit or not, since I was able to get it done quickly once I continued to work on his portrait. Maybe I’ll know for sure later on.

The portraits will be located above in the F2E - Other Videogame Franchises section.

SMT3: Nocturne - Black Frost

The dark version of Jack Frost that debuted first in the third main SMT entry. He kind of ended up being more easier to make than the other one, due to his pose making it so that his hat didn’t stick out too much from the hackbox, so that was nice. He’s more bigger than Jack Frost, although not to the point of reaching the limit of the hackbox at the top. He also has no full color version since he ended up being simpler in tones, despite actually having 5 main colors instead of 3, and even when he has 5 tones of black instead of less, which for most cases is something you shouldn’t do when making the pixel art designs of these characters. I think that’s because two of those don’t end up being used too much on the portrait as a whole (the white teeth and the yellow symbol on his hat) and I didn’t also want to put more shading in them due to not being needed. Maybe later I’ll check if I’m able to change any part of his portrait if I revisit him, alongside giving him some hands alts. Otherwise this one was very simple to make, and maybe even a bit more than Jack Frost, despite being bigger.

Hi everyone, I hope all of you had a good start with the new year of 2026. In contrast to how previous year started for me, this one started a bit better, with the reason that I haven’t posted here yet in this month being a bit more positive too. Which is I have been busy with homebrewing the Nintendo Wii I have on my house so that it could play more games that my family couldn’t find easily. This is something that me and my brother have planned to do ever since this decade started from what I remember, but it wasn’t till the beginning of this month when we finally set out to do it ourselves. If you’re able to afford a computer and a SD card, which both must have a good amount of space too, then you should be able to easily homebrew your Wii.
With that, we’ve been able to extend our backlog of games to play, mainly Wii and Gamecube games (special mention goes to SBM, which we were able to play since at least before yesterday we weren’t able to find the disc and thought it was lost a long time ago. Turns out that It wasn’t, when literally yesterday, 27th January, we found it on a CD cleaner, which was there because it was scratched and unable to be played, so yeah). That’s one of the main reasons I haven’t posted much this month, alongside being busy with classes.

With that said, I may have plans for some portraits I want to do in the future, but I think that I’ll first start with some reworked portraits that I did before, thanks to having gotten better at making these. The first of those being the already reworked Braixen portrait that I did one year ago, which comes with some expressions and recolors that I did with an older version of it. The next reworked portrait might be of another Pokemon portrait, and maybe try redoing some P3 portraits too, mainly since this year is the 20th anniversary of the original Japanese version’s release. But we’ll see what I’m able to do first.
Other portrait that I’ll post here is just a hackbox insertion of a portrait done by someone else since I wanted to put it here. Since it’s someone else’s artwork I won’t put it here above the rest of my art and I’ll give full credits to them instead (it’s ok if you still credit me for putting it on the hackbox).

With that in mind, I have updated the Pokemon post with the first below entries under the main section of F2E - Pokemon - Gen VI - Braixen.

Edit: Gave touchups to Braixen’s portrait, mainly by making it a bit taller, which made the eyes and mouth frames more easier to do, and moving it more on the left side, which was possible by thining out the hair on its ears, therefore the whole portrait now fits without having to use the extend mug patch (and also ends up making the height of the twig actually matter now), and overall updating the shape of the ear hair, the nearest ear, the twig, the eyes and mouth frames, and the shading as a whole. As a bonus, I also gave it expressions and recolors.

Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem - Cecil portrait by Backer

Purple/FE3 Recolor

I decided to make a hackbox version of this portrait due to the repo missing any Cecil portrait from what I last remember, and I grabbed this portrait made by @Backer thanks to it being F2E/F2U. Aside from the minimug and frames there’s also some parts that I touched up so it would look a bit nicer imo. If I was able, I would’ve made more changes to the portrait, but I decided that it looked fine like this. I also made a variant of her with a purple palette, similar to how she looked like in-game in FE3.

It’s been a long time, hasn’t it? Well, compared to other people here, not really. But the reason why I haven’t uploaded anything since late January was because I decided to do other stuff that wasn’t FE related, like still keeping with the Wii homebrew activities alongside hacking me and my brother’s respective 3ds, and generally I’ve been less online than previous years, despite ironically having finished my college studies and (for now) not having a job, so I haven’t been on things like YouTube as much as before. Tbh tho, I still feel like it’s much better than how it was for me 3 years ago, since I’m able to stay away from things that I didn’t need to know about, or situations that I just need to back away from, and generally stay in a better mood.

And also I picked up some more interest in certain things that weren’t FE related (fleeting interests much?), so I’ll see if I end up making portraits related to those things, or even start making some battle animations I wanted to do.

As a side note, I think going forward I’ll put more emphasis on getting portraits done to have them ready for at least two weeks in advance before posting, or having them ready to show them in two months or even more. This is so that not only I’m able to get things done if they’re done for anniversary/release day/other day related purposes, but also so that I’m able to post them without feeling rushed about doing so. We’ll see how it turns out till then.

Anyways, here’s some portraits that I was getting done in February and March but forgot to post them/was a bit uncertain to do so.

I’ll update the main post with the below entries under their respective sections, on F2E - Pokemon - Gen VI - Greninja, and F2E - Pokemon - Gen III - Shuppet.

Pokemon Gen VI - Greninja

No tongue Alt

Confused expression

Cross-Eyed expression

Joyous expression

Edit: Retouched Greninja’s latest portrait by reshading and increasing the size of the fins on the sides of its head, remaking parts of the tongue and its shading, using less border color on the head, and improving the arms. Additionally, I finished the halfbody hackbox version of its portrait, which explains why its tail was a bit visible lower on the portrait. And I was also able to make some additional expressions for it and made some recolors based on official material, fanmade art, and the Super Smash Bros Ultimate palette colors. Some of these recolors (namely some of the SSBU ones) differ at how they’re recolored from the main palette, to the point the 6th SSBU palette has a noticeable difference on the lower half of its body (it’s the only one tho, thankfully). I also did alts of it without a tongue, which may look cursed to some, but look good to others (I did see some people in the past that didn’t like Greninja due to its tongue scarf) but I did either way to give more customization options to Greninja’s portrait, like making clothes/armor/scars/other alts a bit more easier to produce.

Pokemon Gen III - Shuppet

Tongue alt

A benevolent ghost pokemon that evolves into Banette, despite official media (Pokedex and anime) showing contradictory origins to these characters (in the anime, there was a substitute doll that straight up transformed into a Banette instead of starting as Shuppet). This is a character portrait I decided to make lately, both as a character that someone here would like to have here, and also since it’s one of the more simpler pokemon designs out there, so it didn’t really take too long to make, especially since this is one of the few characters so far to have a full body portrait done, something that at least for me says how easy it was to make the character’s mug. I only struggled when it came to the eye frames, since I ended up making its portrait a bit too big from how it should actually be, but I managed to fix that before making the full design.
This one has aditional colors for the mouth frames since the palette was low enough for me to add pink tongue colors to the portrait, and also to be able to make an alt with its tongue out. There’s also some of the palette alts I did that have a few more colors than usual, due to them having more distinct eye colors from their respective origins, so some of them have full color alts. Other than that, there’s nothing to say about this one, since it turned to be pretty simple, other than the eyes.

Thanks! Glad to be an inspiration to someone here. This next character portrait is yet again another redo of one I did earlier. I may yet have to post one that I didn’t do before, but at least it doesn’t hurt to draw characters that you did before. Besides, this one is more different thanks to not being just a simple update to a previous portrait, and instead being a full redraw of it. At the very least, I also didn’t take too long at making recolors of this character, unlike with the previous ones I did of Greninja and, surprisingly, Shuppet.

Anyways, if everything goes well, as long as I don’t procastinate much (my biggest enemy), I’ll have a good amount of stuff done for the next month.

I’ll update the Pokemon post with the below entries under the main section of F2E - Pokemon - Gen V - Audino.

Pokemon Gen V - Audino

Shiny alt

Alt color 1 (Variant with a more pale pink color and yellow skin. Based on some of its anime appearances)

Alt color 2 (Based on an alternate shiny palette for Audino in the Pokerogue fangame)

Alt color 3 (Based on the other Pokerogue shiny palette)

Published on Audino day, this character portrait is a redraw of one I did previously of this pokemon, made so that it’s drawn more accurately to how it normally is, and so that it doesn’t stick out too much from other FE portraits at least in terms of style. I would’ve liked that it was some pixels taller, but for now, and since its average height is 1.1 meters, I’ve made my peace with that and left it with this height. At least this also allows me to fully draw its ears without them getting out of the hackbox. If I revisit this portrait tho, I’ll try to see if I’m able to shade better the lower part of the face, below where the mouth is, and also redo the stethoscope-like feelers on its ears.

Tfw you’re able to put all the recolors of a character at once due to it having max 5 palettes.

Audino portraits

Here is a comparison of the previous Audino portrait I did like 2/3 years or so ago, to the newest one. The newer Audino is a bit less taller than the older one, but it’s also more accurately drawn and better colored.

Well, the recent days have been crazy with some of the announcements that were made. Mainly some remakes like Resident Evil: Veronica, the OOC remake, and Persona 4 Revival (the one game I can’t wait to play, even tho I haven’t finished P4G yet). There was also the teaser for Persona 6, so well see what else ends up happening since at least we now have real official confirmation of the game being developed. Alongside some other things like a new Spyro game being made, and some more trailers for games that’ll get released this year like Star Fox and Marvel’s Wolverine. Overall, a bunch of things that got announced for even this year, and at least some more for next year and beyond, even more for others that I haven’t mentioned here.

Anyways, for the moment I plan to make at least 3 character portraits from the Sonic franchise since this month Sonic’s 35th anniversary gets celebrated. The first one is already done, the next one might be a bit more surprising (one big hint I’ll give is that this one has to do with a recently released Marvel Rivals character), and the last one is a bit more obvious since it’s one that’s commonly paired up with the first one.

I’ll update the Other Videogame Franchises post with the below entries under the section of Sonic - Silver The Hedgehog, and the Other/Observation only post as well.

Sonic Rivals - Silver The Hedgehog

Eyes facing front Alt

Fist alts

Full color alts

The third male hedgehog that was introduced a decade ago, and compared to the other two ones is a bit less popular than them, but still has a neat design and story. This one was done for Sonic’s 35th anniversary. Honestly, the only thing that forced me to make this portrait more lower than it would be were the horizontal spikes that are situated right next from his eyes, since otherwise the rest of his design was easy to fit in, even the spikes at the top of his head, and at this point I learned how to properly fit the very big eyes that characters like Sonic have, even if not only this one is based more on the games’ counterpart, but also it has passed one year since since I last made a Sonic character with this type of eyes. The colors were also much more easier to reduce than previous Sonic characters, since the main fur colors were similar enough to combine with the ones used for the eyes’ sclera, chest fur and fist ones, and even one of the eyes’ colors could use one of the skin tones.

If I revisit this portrait, I might update things that are only visible for the full body version, since the top part came out well, apart from the far left spike.
As such, this one took longer to make than previous portraits due to deciding to make it into a full body portrait first, although at least I could say that it could’ve been worse.

No, when I said that I was thinking about this character being the one that was released in Marvel Rivals this month, and this is… a character that is portrayed by the same actor that did the role of Cyclops a long time ago (James Marsden). At least it was an X-Men character, so points for trying.

Anyways, it took me long enough to make this portrait that I’ll end up posting it on father’s day, so at least this one fits for this day in particular. This is the 2nd Sonic character portrait, so I hope I don’t take too long at making the 3rd before the month ends. Might end up having it ready by the next sunday, maybe?

Also, I forgot to post this when I released my Silver pixel art previously, but it’s not that big of a deal. Just some funny stuff.

I decided to make a portrait of this character both as to have another character that’s technically part of the Sonic franchise, and to keep up the pace on doing regular FE character mugs, and who else since I already did portraits of (movie) Eggman and Gerald. Making his portrait was fun to do in terms of palette distribution. Mainly, his hair on the regular version not only has one color used for it while the other two are a skin tone and the border color, but it’s shaded inversely in most parts in a way that looks great despite it not being commonly done with other FE portraits. The two mixed hair tones also help at giving more space for more different colors, like the ones used for his eyes and still being able to have some left for his outfits. I wasn’t sure how accurate he looks since I didn’t want his wrinkles to make him look too old, but I guess it’s fine since his actor is at least in his early fifties now (while still looking good and not too old, but that’s the benefits of being formerly a Versace model). For his main outfit which is his sheriff attire from the first Sonic movie, I wasn’t able to completely write the “Sheriff” words on the insignia since there wasn’t enough size to make them look fine, so unfortunately it looks like some random scribbles, but at least the insignia is present on both arms so that the design itself is symmetrical. That’s also why I didn’t add other things like the walkie-talkie or the sheriff star badge, alongside feeling like they weren’t too integral to the portrait or would be easily noticeable if they were missing.
Also, to finally start with making some simple FE outfits for some characters, I made another outfit for him as a cavalier, which is a splice of Forde’s outfit. For now, not too different from the original outfit, but still changed a bit so that it looks better. Maybe I could’ve gone with another outfit like one from Fates or a more knigthly outfit, but this is fine for now.
