I was just trying to make a joke about how bad Persona 3’s AI was with healing, welp. Or at least it was in the original.
Ah, it’s okay. I understand.
Marin Karin moment lololol.
mitsuru pls the enemy’s already going to die if you just stab it.
I’m sure that after I’ve made Junpei and Yukari’s portraits, some of you might’ve been waiting for Akihiko’s. Well, the truth is that actually, Sanada was one of the first P3 characters that I’ve made a portrait of, although now I’m going to show what is basically my 3rd attempt at a Akihiko portrait, alongside another outfit for him. As always, these portraits will be located above the main post.
Persona 3 - Akihiko Sanada
The boxing champion, all-rounder party member from Persona 3. Imo of the P3 main cast I’ve made a portrait of so far, I think he was the one character that was easy for me to do a portrait of, mainly because his SEES gear doesn’t change that much of his normal attire, mainly just having the protection gear and the above part of the SEES armband, and nothing else. That, and combined with his color palette, makes him one of the one party member that changes the least when reducing the colors he has.
Funny that I’m putting these portraits now, since this is the week where I’m supposed to study for exams now. I’m pretty sure Mitsuru would berate me for doing these portraits instead of studying. Oh well, guess with this I won’t have to worry about making more portraits this week now. As always, the portraits will be located above the main post.
Persona 3 - Mitsuru Kirijo
SEES Battle Gear
Summer uniform
The ice queen from Persona 3. This a fun portrait to make, although maybe one thing that could be changed is the position where her hair covers her right eye, since that’s how she should look. Eh, maybe some other time. As for her other outifts, I struggled a bit to reduce the colors she used for her SEES battle gear, since her normal portrait already has 16 colors, so I had to change the darkest shirt color so that it could also be used in her jacket, and also have a second jacket color. And her summer outfit is both a joke portrait and an easy variant, since you have to check closely to check the differences in her shirt. At least they’re more noticeable than Akihiko’s uniforms.
Hey everyone, it’s Fuuka Friday, so that means today I’m putting Fuuka’s portraits in this topic. With this, I’ll be halfway to making the rest of the main SEES squad from P3.
Persona 3 - Fuuka Yamagishi
SEES Battle Gear
Bath Towel
The mission control party member from Persona 3. I remember that a guy literally named Nobody did a portrait of Fuuka some years ago, although since I was making portraits of the rest of the P3 cast, I didn’t have in mind to not make a portrait of Fuuka. After all, P3R did make new art for the characters too. As for her normal outfit does differ from Nobody’s Fuuka portrait, like having her eyes’ color use some of the skin tones instead of using the hair colors, alongside her shirt only having one distinct color and the others being her hair colors, and her sweater ended up being darker in color. I struggled for a bit at making her SEES outfit since unlike the other party members, she ends up having more things added to her outfit, like the headgear and the big jacket, but overall I’m very glad how it turned out in the end, especially for the version with max 16 colors.
Oh and also, before someone else makes a variant of this portrait:
Hehe.
Gasp! The enemy!
Fuuka Gesp
Hoo boy, was this one much more trickier to do than the other portraits, but thankfully I got it done quite well. Here’s the portraits of Persona’s most neglected “Protagonist”.
Persona 3 - Aigis
No Ribbon Bow Alt
SEES Armband
Gekkoukan High Uniform
Persona 3’s most iconic character, a robot girl in other words. This one might be by far the most difficult of the Persona 3 cast to properly make a portrait of, at least when it comes to the amount of colors you can use in the portrait itself. Mainly, I had to make her 3rd hair color into her 4th skin tone, make her parts of her body that were metallic gold into a weird mix of her hair and skin tones, and reducing the white and blue colors in her appearance to give her less colors, and that would still leave her with 15 colors at normal. Maybe it’s no problem if you only want her normal outfit, but if you want any other that maybe isn’t the high school uniform, you’ll be in tough luck just to give her another outfit. But at the very least I’m glad at how this one turned out in the end.
Hey everyone, I’m here once again to post more portraits. Damn, it’s been almost one month since I’ve posted anything here lol. The thing is that one of the asignatures of my university school has ended up giving me a bit more trouble than its worth in regards to what I do in that class, therefore that made a bit difficult for me to post here. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working in new character portraits in the meantime (at least ones that aren’t normal FE human characters). Hopefully by this month or the next one (my birthmonth btw) I’ll be able to make a few more portraits, mainly the ones I have left of the P3 cast. Well then, here are some of the character portraits I’ve made recently, these ones helped me in understanding more how to make use of different color tones in the portraits I make, and in particular making more varied use of colors (and size for one of these too).
Pokemon Gen IV - Infernape
Angry expression
Enraged expression (aka Mad as f-)
The final phase of the fire starter of Gen IV. I prefer the grass starter of that generation, although that one’s by far the most quadruped of the starters there, the most obvious choice was making an Infernape portrait. This is actually my 2nd attempt at making a portrait of this character, since the previous one I made was… less than good tbh. This one’s much better made, although maybe I think that it would look a lot cooler if the flame from its head was a bit bigger than it looks, but for now this is good enough. It was fun making its flaming head have a different outline color, and also making an enraged variant of it, based mostly on Ash’s Infernape from the DP anime.
This is the older Infernape portrait I made btw. Please don’t use it (because why would you use this lol).
Pokemon Gen IV - Anthro Glaceon
Feminine version
Purple Sweater
Mage outfit
I’ve spent a week total in making the portrait of this pokemon (last week as of writing right now), which, on one hand, is mostly a showcase of unproductiviness, but on the other hand, is a showcase of my skills improving. I did this portrait mainly because I wasn’t too confident in making a normal standing Glaceon (and a Sylveon one too) for a romhack I want to make in the far future, so I figured out just making a portrait of this character if it was antropomorphic, which also helped at practicing in making more human postures. I’ve made different variants of this character, of which include different color variants that I might post later, a uuum… less androgynous version of this portrait (is the one I’m thinking right now fine to post here? might be, but if not then make sure to remind me, and I’ll replace it), and some outfit variants, which are a mage outfit that was based on one of VelvetKitsune’s characters, and a purple sweater alt that resulted from making that portrait.
Pokemon Gen VI - Diggersby
Part 1
Part 2
This might be the portrait I ended up practicing with the most, mainly at the size I ended up making it. Since I didn’t find a good way of making this portrait much smaller, I instead opted at just making this the first two parts portrait I ended up doing. And despite that, it’s still big enough that it just needs a bit of the mug extension patch lol. But at least it ended up turning out in a very good portrait of this character.
Pokemon Gen VI - Anthro Sylveon
Long hair variant
This is the same portrait that I’ve made a while ago for a submission contest. This one was made for the same reason as the Glaceon one. So far, it looks fine, but maybe I’ll improve its pose, and I’ll definitely have to see at making an inverted version of this portrait. And despite this one having more varied amount of colors than the Glaceon portraits, I think that this one was much easier to do overall.
Pokemon Gen VII - Primarina
This is a portrait I’ve made some time ago, like two months ago, for a FE6 PME (the Lyn’s Bizarre Adventure one). This is one of the better portraits I’ve created recently, mostly by the amount of colors I used. But if you plan on recoloring this portrait (the one with max 16 colors), keep in mind that the lightest hair tone shares color with one the colors used for one of its eyes, and the darkest skin tones also get used a bit in some of the portrait.
Well, I’ve just finished playing Persona 3 Reload previous week. Pretty good remake of a good game, can’t wait for The Answer next month. Next week might or might not be the week where I take summer vacations, so that’ll determine whether or not I’ll be to make more portraits in the next days. If nothing else, I’ll just make sure to release the last portraits of the main P3 cast that I needed to finish since, uh, two months ago. Well, with all that said, here they are.
Persona 3 - Koromaru
Evoker Collar
SEES Battle Gear
The dog persona user from Persona 3 (And the one that could use fire skills better than Junpei). Got a bit lazy here and ended up just using his actual portrait from P3R, although not only did I still have to make his other outfits, making his portrait did end up taking a bit of time anyways. Maybe I’ll redo his evoker collar someday, but for now it’s good enough as it is.
Persona 3 - Ken Amada
SEES Battle Gear
Summer Attire
The youngest (human) persona user from P3, and all of the Persona franchise so far (And the most unreliable team member, one that was outclassed easily by Yukari, at least in the og P3, thank god for the remake lol). Surprisingly, making his portrait ended up being easy all around, since some of the colors he uses are almost the same. I only ended up having a bit of trouble at making the left part of his hair, since it is supposed to be a bit more spiky and longer, but I had to find a balance between making it like that and not end up making it look bad. Imo I think it came out very well, so there’s that.
Persona 3 - Shinjiro Aragaki
SEES Battle Gear
The last SEES member you get in P3 (and the best physical user in the game bar none). Ironically, this is the first character of the P3 cast I ended up making a portrait of, much before making the MC’s portraits. Despite that, I ended up improving his normal portrait so it would look much more like his P3R portrait and art, and like normal FE GBA portraits, while also doing his SEES Battle Gear, which actually ended up being a bit difficult to do despite not changing much of his appearance at first. In the end tho I came around and ended up making it look decent enough.
While I’m on summer vacations until late this month, waiting until the P3R “The Answer” story dlc and the first trailer for the 3rd Sonic movie comes out, I decided to do something a bit unrelated a ended up making a new and improved version of the Mewtwo portrait I made on the first month of this year. It’s a bit surprising to think that I’ve made that first portrait early this year, mainly because of all the other stuff that I did and the things that happened this year too. I guess this year definitely was more fullfilling than the previous one.
Pokemon Gen I - Mewtwo
Alternate body/First movie design
Different skin tone alt
Classic armored Mewtwo portraits:
No helmet alts
Full armor alts (+ glowing eyes alts)
Armor with alt body design alts
The strongest Pokemon to have been created strikes back with some new and improved portraits. Thanks to me improving at portrait making, I ended up making a Mewtwo portrait that looked better than before and was easier to draw, alongside being able to easily make outfit alts. The problems with the old one were, aside from using the skin tones in an awkward way, it also had a weird pose, one where it ended up making Mewtwo look a bit small and showing almost the half of its body. That one was mostly based on its Unite game stance, but I guess it didn’t look too well, so I gave it a pose that was less centered, alongside making it bigger. Thanks to doing that, not only I was able to give it some alt portraits based on its different body design, the original one used mainly on the first Pokemon movie, but I also was able to make alts of the armor it used in that movie too. Granted, it was a bit difficult making parts of the armor design, especially the chest plate (maybe that part will change if I end up revisiting it) without them looking awkward or very big, which you can see on the right part of the portrait, where the helmet and the shoulder pad are at the limit of the portrait space, while I also had to give the armor some shading effects so that it wouldn’t look really simple and bland (this was something inspired mainly by fanarts, since most of the official anime scenes don’t give Mewtwo’s armor shining effects). In the end I think it ended up looking really great, and at least it’s a major improvement over the old portrait, where making its armor design without it looking very awkward would’ve been next to impossible.
All in all, these Mewtwo portraits have a ton of options too, whether what you prefer: it’s current design, the old one, the old colors versions that only have 5 skin tones and one color of the eyes’ sclerae in case you want to give it an outfit with a complicated color scheme, an alternate skin tone version that looks less pink and more white, and the classic armor outfits which also have variants with glowing eyes.
Come to think of it, it would be fun to make a Mewtwo portrait that has its armor design with the color scheme of Master Chief’s armor, or better yet, one that has an outfit inspired by it. I thought of this mainly because of an old fanart I found where it had Mewtwo with an outfit that resembled Master Chief’s.
Hi everyone. I’m actually not going to upload any portraits today. I’m just here to say that, today’s my birthday!! Two days ago I had a party with some of my family members to celebrate it, and I did end up enjoying it. As of today (and until next year) I’m now 21 years old, and this is the year where (hopefully) I end my university classes!
Happy birthday yo!
Thanks!
Congrats! You are now an ancient dinosaur.
Welcome to the club.
Lol, thank you.
Hello everyone, how have you been? Hope your summer vacations have been well for the most of you. To start what’s pretty much the beginning of September, I’m going to showcase some portraits that I worked on since the tuesday of last week. They ended up being a bit complicated to colour, but I think they turned out well.
After this tho, Idk if I’m still gonna have time to do upload more portraits for these next months, since once this year ends, I’m going to complete my university studies. Tbh, I’m not really sure what’s in it for me during this last university triannual, or after it ends, but I’ll try to stay focused, and hope for the best.
Sonic The Hedgehog (2020) - Sonic
The live action version of one of gaming’s most iconic characters, the blue blur himself. I might have made some of the color distribution of Sonic (and some of the other characters) based on some of GoudaGrabber’s Sonic portraits, but the design itself is, obviously, the live action one. Anyways, this one might’ve been a bit unintentional, but after seeing the colors I’ve used for Sonic, I think they ended up being a bit similar to the ones he has in the Sonic movie 2’s pre-quill comic, fun stuff. The pose was based on one he has when Robotnik ends up attacking him for the first time in the 2nd movie. When inserting the sketch of his portrait, I ended up realizing that it was going to be a bit difficult doing his eyes, since I had to be careful to not make too big or else they wouldn’t fit in the eyes frames. In the end I manage to make Sonic’s portrait very well, although if I end up revisiting it I think I would make his eyes a bit smaller (but not too much obviously) and maybe patch up part of his torso, mainly his arms.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (2022) - Tails
The sidekick young fox that’s also a technology prodigy, and the only one so far of the Sonic franchise so far to retain his VA from the games into the live action Sonic projects. His pose was based on one of his earliest scenes in the 2nd movie, and his portrait ended up being so simple in colors to the point that this time I didn’t end up doing an alt with less colors, so instead I made a recolored alt where he has the color scheme he had in the post-credits scene of the first movie. Still, If I were to redo his portrait, I think I would add more colors to his portrait, maybe an extra tone of white, and touch up his tails.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (2022) - Knuckles
The red warrior echidna that “doesn’t chuckle”. His pose was based on one of his promotional artwork, minus his fists being raised. I wanted him to be the tallest out of all the Sonic characters, but if I end up redoing his portrait, maybe I would change the angle of his head a bit. His portrait might look simple at a glance, but he actually has quite an amount of colors, like having various tones of red, white and skin color, but I left two colors for his reduced colors alt in case I were to do like, his hat from his live action series.
Sonic The Hedgehog 3 (2024) - Shadow
One of Sonic’s most complex characters to exist once you get past his edgelord appearance and characterization, although maybe that’s why he’s most commonly known as Sonic’s main rival. I ended up doing reversed shading for his black fur so that he would look good, but since his portrait ended up being a bit big, he’ll need the mug extension patch to be used properly. If I redo his portrait in the future, maybe I’ll fix up some of his shading, alongside making his eyes a bit different so he doesn’t look a bit weird, or maybe just leave him with that and just give him an angry alt.
Since I ended up doing the portraits of two different ultimate life forms, here they are right next to each other:
![]()
I originally planned to release these portraits right after the trailer of the third sonic movie ended up releasing, but I ended up busy, so I had to release them this day. Still, they were fun to do, and maybe this helps to improve at making these type of portraits. And who knows, maybe I’ll end up doing the portraits of other characters that are actually human, like Eggman. That would be fun to do.
Well, after so long, I managed to make yet another portrait of another P3 character, and these ones are mainly in celebration for “The Answer” coming out this tuesday. I was going to have them by yesterday, but were some complications right when I was making these portraits, so I had to wait until today to release them. After this maybe I’ll end up making more Persona portraits or other stuff, but who knows.
Persona 3 “The Answer” - Metis
The new party member you get in “Episode Aigis - The Answer”. Making her portrait was for the most fun and easy to do, since unlike Aigis most of her colors used in her appearance blend well with one another, although what I ended up struggling at instead was in making her mask-helmet. It ended up so big that you’ll have to use the extended mug patch to fit her portrait perfectly. But other than that, it was pretty easy to make in the end. Maybe I’ll improve her mask later on, but it leave as is for now.
As for Aigis, I also ended up making her new outfit she uses in “The Answer”. It was a bit difficult making her visor look good as is with the amount of colors she uses, so maybe I’ll improve later.
And with that, all of the SEES characters have been done. Thanks for checking once in a while for the portraits I make. Hopefully I’ll make more of these in the future. Catch you later, and remember, memento mori!
