Hello, wanted to tell you that the new is really good and a lot of things look really good! Tharja’s new portrait looks good and her animations look good as well.
I especially loved seeing the bossess i made since it’s just kinda nice seeing them in game.
Overall a lot of things look really good and i wanted to say it.
Also there’s this visual bug with the icons next to the enemy units. Nothing big, it"s just when i look to see everthing on the map before playing the chapter, I see this.
Oh ! How I have waited for this update. Lets go and kill some bosses. Going to do the Daein Blast.
EDIT : I have a suggestion. Can you give all the monsters intimidate and malefic aura skill ? Even the generic ones. It feels very odd that people fight so calmly against opponents whom they considered nothing more than fairy tales. You can’t really cut down a pile of rotten meat and walking skeleton without flinching.
Exia is pretty neat. His ability to shrug off physical attacks is useful, especially for stuff like baiting enemies and helping to level the trainees. As the story progresses, his other stats tend to suffer, but the fact that he can use light magic helps alleviating his shortcomings, and Ivaldi is a great weapon on him. He gets outdone on the long run by other tanky light mages like Kassandra or Sage!Siara, but he still performs pretty respectably.
That being said, Pavise is redundant most of the time and I feel that Overdrive’s benefits aren’t that strong compared to the risk of using said skill.
I ain’t gonna sugarcoat it, hard mode phantom ship is hell. The enemy gets buffed cause of hardmode and that’s all well and good, but then you realize most of your units aren’t that bulky aside from Exia, but they get slowly picked off by Mogalls.
Jormand can’t effectively tank unless you go to the tower of Valni before hand so you’re options on tanking are with Exia and Laresta with Laresta being the risky choice since her bases aren’t great and she gets doubled more often.
All this could be alright since it’s nothing someone can’t handle, you could turtle your way through the chapter since that’s the safest way to get through it.
Then we have Ozaki
She guards the middle part of the ghost ship so you’re guaranteed on having some of your units in her range and she arrives a few turns into the chapter so you don’t have enough time to clear out the enemy’s and reinforcements arrive when she does.
Now all this is pretty manageable since you coupd just retreat and move your units back, but there’s one problem. She has a purge tome.
She has 19 magic and with the added purge might, she can deal a dangerous amount of damage.
The only reason I’m making this post is because Alear gets one shot with the purge tome if you let Ozaki live, either that happens or she sees a kill on one of your other units and goes for them. Even if that Ozaki doesn’t kill them the monsters will make sure to finish the job
The only reason I managed to kill Ozaki was With Lenna since he dodges everything so I could put him on the approaching monster ship before they came onto ours, having Lenna kill most of the monsters early.
It took me about 2 hours before I managed to beat the chapter. All I ask is to remove the purge from Ozaki’s inventory so Alear doesn’t get one shot from across the map.
It was pretty nice finally killing her though so it wasn’t all bad
When the user reaches 40% HP, they lose 60% of their defense stat. For every 2 points lost, gain +1 in attack, skill, and speed. (If its possible, maybe lock him from being healed?)
This might completely change the way Exia is used. Its now forced instead of optional, immediatly causing him to become a glass cannon. However, it presents a choice. If you try and make him even bulkier physically to increase the damage payout, itll be harder to proc the skill. Or you can leave him with just growths, hopefully allowing more activations.
This is Chapter 5. Yes, Chapter 5. Shiraha will completely destroy the Arena if you know what you’re doing.
To start, know that stat buffs from sources outside of the arena (equipped weapon, Rally etc.) carry into the arena; it’s always treated as if you initiated combat. As such, the Determined Heart scroll is huge for its buffs.
Shiraha has a 31-LCK% chance of backfiring; this can be a problem if she’s underleveled, but if you feed her enough EXP and have her reach 26 LCK, you can safely arena grind. Remember, equipment boosts carry into the arena, so she can simply equip her PRF to bump it up to 31.
Once this happens, make sure to cast Rally Speed before sending her in; this helps ensures she doubles enemies and also gets her extra avoid. The average enemy hit rate is like 20% displayed; once she gets Killing Machine she will kill them before they get much of a chance to hit her. The only real threats are Wyvern Riders who can reach like 30 STR and potentially OHKO Shiraha; this can be solved by giving her the Dracoshield in this map, which makes it much less likely that a Wyvern with OHKO power will spawn.
The kicker is that you get a Master Seal off the boss in Ch4. This lets you promote her and keep on grinding (and she will destroy the promoted arena roster even more handily; they don’t pose OHKO threat. Even Generals that roll 99+ HP get killed in 2 rounds tops), resulting in the monster seen in the SS.
Being able to shove enemies makes it easy to force an Archer in Ch2 onto the Fort, which Shiraha can then grind for EXP using a Slim Sword, getting her to Lv10 trainee easily.
She promotes at the start of Ch4 and gains a huge boost to her stats; feed her as many kills as you can and get her to Lv10 Myrmidon ASAP (note that you may have to send her into the Arena a bit; it isn’t completely safe but chances of failure aren’t too high).; the instant she hits that benchmark, she also hits the all-important 26 LCK that lets her arena abuse.
Jormund has the most potential out of my three units. He is effectively the tankiest of my three units. The only downside is that you will have to put effort.
Alear can also get one-shotted by either that Wight or Entombed.
Exia has a very cool animation and a lot of utility in early game. Especially, if you’re doing a speed run. He’s still one of the few units who are in my small death squad besides Xandra. They’re all broken and I love broken characters. Xandra’s rampage is unstoppable.
For reference, average level 20 Exia has 39 HP and 40 Def. That means that, once the skill triggers, he would have like 7 HP at most and a measly 4 Def. Blocking healing on top of that…
