well put
I’ve seen how you’ve acted in the SLoP thread…
I disavow
please do not think we are aligned [also tbh it’s kinda weird to reply to a post like this a year later]
ok??? I’m sorry I couldn’t help myself, imagine acting this high and mighty to someone agreeing with you. I’ll take it to dms if you want, but my god what an awful attitude.
-
topic is old this person is rehashing an old post everyone moved on from, reviving an old thread is dependent on content but I think it’s bad form to reply to my kind of post over a year later
-
the way they have acted makes me uncomfortable with their praise for my argumentation and I don’t want them to think I’d agree with that behavior
-
said behavior makes me suspicious this person responded not because they care for discussion but because they have unjust dislike of the OP for creating SLoP
- I don’t really understand what’s wrong with bumping but agree to disagree
- Keep the discomfort to yourself. No response is required - nobody would think you agree with what they did because you didn’t hit them with the “I disavow”. That is caring about your image far too much. Nobody cares.
- That does not make any sense, they replied to you not Fringus. What would replying to you with “well put” even do?
You did not have to respond in this way at all as far as I’m concerned.
- ok
- yes I will directly address someone when I am made uncomfortable by them, please read I didn’t address the community, I addressed BMY, if I cared about image I’d have just said nothing
- the post they replied to was very negative towards Fringus.
Guys, drop it.
- I don’t think the way you addressed them is appropriate. Either keep it to yourself or reply better. And no, I can see you replying this way because you care about image.
- Okay you mean they are showing agreement with your post slamming fringus because they don’t like fringus so they’re commenting for the wrong reasons. You can think that if you want, but they could also just agree with you without doing it for that reason, or both.
I did ask to go to DMs.
This is Lesk Lyfeld, official vulnerary sponsor for Sacred Light of Promise, and keeper of the Monster Necropost Crypt, posting in the new SLoP thread due to the previous one getting a sleepy nap extension.
We beg that you throw your spent Vulneraries inside the recycle bin after you take SLoP out from it and prevent littering the battle grounds with empty concoctions, which are poisoning the Fire Emblem battlegrounds.
If you have taken any offense by the current societal status of your perused romhack and have decided to be personal with its attributed offense and (im)properly suffer several meltdowns (Second Trumpet), it is always best advised to acquire one of my vulneraries (Monster-flavored of your choice) and take a good walk before reassessing your current relationship with the hack.
As a fellow hater - graduated from nukedpost university, and qualified in having alts be used against me - I have deeply understood the need to reread my posts before sending them to make sure my (invalid) criticism stirs as many (Easy Mode) defenders of the game’s difficulty and design as necessary, rather than target vacue elements such as colorblindness support, correct tooltip managing and non-reversed left/right controls.
Thus, it is in my best wishes that you, fledging hater, make use of succint remarks and direct criticism over petty, unwitful regards and highly fluff-filled cloud-yelling showcases.
Yours truly, Lesk Lyfeld.

Please don’t do this.
Auto-locking inactive threads was universally panned, but the point of that policy was specifically to avoid giant bumps like this one.
I don’t appreciate bringing arguments from one thread into another, especially a thread like this one which is quite charged as-is. In this particular case, I know it’s a joke about the OP, but this is not how to do it.
Comments like these
while not strictly against the rules, are also better suited for DMs or being kept to yourself to begin with. I don’t begrudge anyone the urge to tell someone else they’re being an ass, but in-public confrontations like these just lead to pointless escalation. Dealing with truly egregious conduct is the job of the mod team; please flag such posts to bring them to the attention of the mod staff (and indeed, thank you to everyone who has done so in the past and continues to do so now).
I didn’t know flagging lets you send a message, thanks, next time I’ll do that, and if no resolution happens that’s when you flag I guess.
Personally, I think we need to go back to child units in the next game. The very fact Engage didn’t allow us to have a second generation implies they care more about avatars than they do about eugenic simulators.
Oh hey, I wonder what game everyone wants IS to remake features match-making…
They should make all units child units.
That’s right, we Trails of Cold Steel now.
You know what else they should make? A bomb!
Not having a new game yet
FE6 poisoned the series. That was the beginning of the end.
Ik that’s a joke statement, but I also feel there’s a shred of truth to it.
The creation of support conversations (and firing kaga) did something to the core trajectory of the series.
I feel that Sacred Stones is a good videogame despite being an FE title.
If I leave my personal bias out of it, FE9 and 10 were a test to see if FE could be a main console juggernaut (they really gave it their all) and the answer was no. It’s a series of shoddy plotbeats, dubious character designs, and a gameplay loop that the designers themselves have admitted they don’t understand.
I do feel that kaga understaood FE gameplay as a vehicle to tell whatever fantasy stories he wanted to. Mechanics were always secondary and essentially ephemeral to the key plot he was driving. I think of it a bit like the first three George Lucas Star Wars films. It’s a mess, but there’s something rich about it.
Modern fire emblem (the last 20 years) is a game series handed to videogame developers that doesn’t have any of the traits of a successful videogame franchise. It’s not Pokémon or Mario where there are core gameplay mechanism/loops that are easy to iterate on. Sure there are classes and promotions, but those have always been suggestions not law.
People talk about the “core identity” of fire emblem, but if one of your core traits is being “hard as nails” (ie classic mode + bonus difficulties) then that becomes a detriment to the popularity of your series. (Dark souls is a fad. Very successful and drawn out, but it will die just like RTS did. Difficulty is not a good long term selling point for a videogame IP)
I’ll have to come back later to talk about awakening onward, but I wanted to mention that the issues with modern FE actually stem from middle FE and give some of my unfiltered thoughts on the topic. (My opinions tend to be inflammatory for others so I generally censor a lot or just don’t post in some of these topics)
