Let face it for a series like fire emblem that currently has over 1000 characters in it lineup, there are bound to be the ones that just doesn’t quite sit right with us. The ones that make you think You know what, maybe it best i just let them die. And that is what this post is all about. I will share you all my top 10 worst Fire emblem characters. Just to clarify i will only be talking about playable characters or major antagonists, no npc and or minor bosses. Oh and one more thing. This is solely my opinion. If you character is on this list, please be civil about it. Your can agree or disagree with my choices and or tell me you personally worst characters in Fire emblem are. With all that clear out let get started.
10 Bernadetta von Varley
Fire Emblem Three Houses is without the doubt one of my favorite videos games ever made. One of the way is solely because of the cast who i think its the best of the series. And because of that this makes the ones i dislike easy to spot from the crowd, I’m looking at you Bernie. My problem with Bernadetta is that the writers really want to have their cake and eat it to. They want to have Bernadetta be a comic relief character. But they also want her to be a tragic character as well to, and that the problem. You ether pick one or the other you just can’t do both ways. So when when ever i watch her support and Bernadetta is freaking out while that goofy ahhh music is playing in the background. I’m i suppose to feel sorry for her, or im i suppose to laugh at her trauma? See what i mean when you make your a comic relief character with a dark tragic backstory.
9 Faye
If there one word i can describe Faye, it would be annoying. A lot of people like to give crap to characters such as Leonie and Ivy for simping others characters like Jeralt and Alear, i disagree. Probably because there more going on with those characters than just I like Captain Jeralt or Divine One. The same can’t be said about Faye. Her obsession with Alm is borderline unhealthy. She doesn’t bounce off well with any other characters unless Alm is even mentioned. And given the fact that Celica is the main character alongside Alm, you’re going to forever be in that friend zone Faye. One more thing i like to comment about Faye her design is not very good. She just looks like a freakin dust bunny.
8 Validar
Without the doubt the worst villain ever. Not only is he so blind coming with an awful design. But he is so incompetent it’s almost illogical. When Validar learned that the good guys have time travel on their side, what does he do about? NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! All he keep saying is that, ThEy CaNt ChAngE TheiR deStinY crap out of his mouth. And i have to ask, why is Validar Robin’s father? This adds nothing to Validar as a character. He doesn’t feel remorse about using his own child, heck Robin doesn’t even found out that Validar was their dad until right before he died, and they don’t give a sh!t. Completely and utterly pointless.
7 Caeldori, Asugi and Rhajat
Hey you guys remember Cordelia, Gaius and Tharja from Awakening? Well what if we create new characters in the next game that basically looks and acts like those characters in question. Yep. Caeldori, Asugi and Rhajat are all just copy paste of Cordelia, Gaius and Tharja. The only difference is that they child units, and that’s it. Apparently that enough to classify theses three as they own original characters. Honestly if you really liketheses three characters from Awakening then why not just bring them back in this game like with Severa, Inigo and Owain? Just saying.
6 Kris
Corrin is not the worst lord guys, Kris is the worst lord by a long shot. Kris is the first avatar character (not counting Mark) in the series. And their were self insert into a story that already exists all the way back in 1994 just for the sole reason as to be glorify praise by the rest of the characters. It’s downright disgusting and it started the trend of having avatar as the main character in their later games. And we can all thank Kris for introducing this trend that will not go away.
5 Rowan
Okay let not beat around bush here and say Fire Emblem Warriors was a bad game. And the lemon twins here are probably one of the reasons why that’s the case. Okay to be fair Lianna is not to bad. Nothing groundbreaking for the franchise but she was at the very tolerable. But Rowan… oh Rowan. The best way to describe Rowan is like this. BUT MOOOOM! I DON’T WANNA BE A PRINCE, I WANNA BE A KNIGHT INSTEAD! Yeah that Rowan in a nutshell. Not to mention his voice like holy crap. Like no disrespect to Nicolas Roye, Rowan voice actor but his voice is with the doubt the worst i ever heard. And that should be saying something when this series is known for having some great voice acting. Well most of the time.
4 Alcryst
You thought me disliking Bernadetta was a hot take, ohh boy let me give you another hot take for you all. I hate Alcryst. Not only does he have a lot of the same problems i have with Bernie, but he is also borderline inconsistent. Like in Chapter 10 The Fell Dragon Sombron. When Morion gets captured by Hyacinth, both he and Diamant are just prying hoping that their father can be saved in some way. Only to find out that Morion has been sacrifice and turn into a Corrupted, and then proceed to mourn his loss when confronted him. But once Chapter 11 is over, hit the reset button and now he is back to his usual goofy ahhh self. Greeeat.
3 Peri
Do i need to say anything about Peri that hasn’t already been said to her at this point. Well i keep it at short as possible. Peri is sociopath crybaby murderer that for some reason is one the good guys as well tarnish other characters such as Xander and Leo. Are we good here? Cause i moving on.
2 Goldmary
Talk about don’t judge a book by its cover. How about don’t judge anyone that’s name Goldmary. Goldmary is a noxious egotistical self loving narcissist who gets very annoyed when she doesn’t get the attention she so wonderfully deserves and absolutely will not take no as an answer. You know before i go to my number one pick i like to make a comparison to another Fire Emblem character, that being L’Arachel. And tell you all what makes L’Arachel good, and Goldmary bad. Yes L’Arachel is also egotistical as well, but at least what she is doing like saving people and killing monsters is a good thing for her to do. Goldmary seems to shave her looks down to other people’s throats until they choke. L’Arachel also seems to generally really care for her friends. Like both Ephraim and Eirika always there as an emotional support for the two siblings. You never see Goldmary offer her shoulder for Alear to cry on that’s for damn sure.
And the number 1 worst Fire Emblem character of all time goes to.
Hisame
Oh my freakin god Hisame, how i hate you so much. Where do i even begin with this guy. As the matter of fact, what is there to even talk about with Hisame? His design is boring and generic to look at. His personality is nonexistent with the exception of one character trait he have. He is obsessed with pickle, yep that’s it he just like his pickles a bit too much, great. Glad to know that one of the writers of fates happened to go to the Butch Hartman school of comedy. There is nothing to write home about Hisame. And you know that’s the best word to describe him, nothing. Hisame is not annoying as say Goldmary. Or controversial like Peri. Or even inconsistent like Alcryst. Hisame is just forgettable. And in the end, is that sorter worst? And that why Hisame is in my opinion the worst Fire Emblem character of all time.
