Hi everyone, I’m Gultykappa, also known as Lily. You may know me as the person who does Archanea Monthly! Well, my friends and I have been working on this romhack known as The Tavern Adventures for a while now. The characters of this hack are actually inserts from my friends and I, both past and present. Think of it less like a completely formal story and more like peering in at a group of friends’ board game night.
In the year of our New World, 3,014, Baron Matthers, as the last surviving noble in Favin, rules over the northern half of the continent, attempting to keep a semblance of unity. While The Baron fights his war against a small faction of revolutionists, The Church of Genesis plots a sinister resurgence from the backdrops of their small churches and cathedrals, and men in hoods, laden in shade and shadow ride south to their dark worship. As everyone decides what side they’d rather fight on, a small group of mercenaries gather in a remote town in the middle of a crossroads near the coast… This is where the story of them: The Tavern Adventures, and how they radically changed the course of history from underneath the noses of historians.

The game functions over a cycle of playing main missions and going back to town for downtime to go shopping, take on paralogues from your allies, or just explore. Right now there are 9 chapters done: 4 Main Chapters and 5 Paralogues. Right now there’s plenty of places to explore in the various towns, and lots and lots of secrets to find. Just try to find them all, I dare you!
I hope you can all give it a try and have some fun! Credits, the patch, and some explanations of a system or two are included in the download. About The Taverniers
Kappa/Lily - That’s me! I lead most of the stuff that goes on with the project and do stuff like programming the events, inserting dialogue, making some portraits, making sure the world map actually works, and writing a good chunk of the game’s script. Of course, I couldn’t do it without the rest of the team too!
Delta - Delta has been the one who’s inspired me to expand the lore by far. They’re responsible for planning out the foundation for probably a quarter of the whole game too. We work close together and kept a ton of story details to our chests before opening up a bit.
Luka - Luka’s a co-writer of the script, and was responsible for Vierre’s paralogue so far. He’s been a huge help with proposing ideas and a few changes to be added, and I really do appreciate another writer not only to help write, but also to challenge my own decisions. Look forward to more chapters written by him.
Lav - Lav’s been an amazing help with both concept art for characters and also bouncing ideas off of. Like Delta, they help expand the lore by asking tons of questions about what I’ve established lol. Maybe it sounds like a joke, but the game wouldn’t be nearly as detailed without them.
Vierre - They’re such a talented artist behind a lot of portraits like Luka, Death, Endrei, Crystelle, and more. So much of the game definitely looks better thanks to the one and only vampire prince Vierre contributing to the cause.
