The Hag in White [COMPLETE]

That’s normal when you apply a patch that change stats don’t affect if you already have the unit. Two options could be that you try letting him die, and since he’s a postgame unit he’s supposed to revive (I haven’t played the postgame yet, I was re-training Pheme on the first post-game map) Or you’ll have to start from the beginning to see if it’s changed.

Finished playing through this. Quite enjoyable overall. Just wanted to stop in to say thank you SaintRubenio for creating and sharing a fun game!

This looks to be a fairly common fe8 bug where the game struggles to load too many unique map sprites at one time, you could fix this in one of two ways, 1. Promote your tier 1 units into tier 2 classes that you already have (eg Vasiliki and Plato into Sniper, bexause you already have Fiadh) (Note that this will have no effect if you don’t already have a unit in that class, like if you don’t have a spellsword, promoting Kairos or Delilah into one will have no effect (may make it worse if both are unpromoted and you only promote one of them). 2. Start killing off units so theyre not in the preps screen.

This bug *shouldn’t* affect any maps, unless you go out of your way to put as many unique sprites on map as possible, but even then it’s a purely cosmetic bug.

Dunno if I finish this one since I’m juggling a buncha projects and fanarts rarely ever my thing. But I felt like doin some Hag fanart and decided to sketch up the three Roadside mercenaries. Fructuo with his 5 base speed holding the normal rock for dear life. Might maybe finish it later and do some more eventually.

In my experience it mostly happens in the postgame, since a lot of the bonus units have classes unique to them. But yeah, like you said, it’s nothing to worry about.

Ok that’s super cute. I love it, thanks for making that.

For better accuracy you should have him wear the lunar brace and hold a vial of pure water

Yknow you MIGHT be onto something there.

Thanks for all the effort you put into this hack SaintRubenio, currently replaying it for a 4th time because it’s just THAT good!

I dont know if promo bonuses for Thief –> artificer have been changed, but they look normal to me. Is the promo buff another thing altogether aside from stats?

I know artificer López is a meme option and assassin is meant to be better, just want to make sure .

Just finished the first chapter. Is there any sort of easter-egg for defeating Fango? Obviously doesn’t seem possible without some lucky level-ups since he’s too tanky to one-round, and has too much Luck to crit (At least not on Difficult Mode). Him immediately surrendering upon taking damage just made me curious.

Summary

It’s just the new custom animations for Artificer López lmao. That’s the full extent of the “buff.” Well, there’s a little thing I threw in there for the crazy people that pick Artificer, but yeah, effectively it’s still just a meme option.

He dies when he is killed. This has consequences in the following chapter.

Oh, and…since there’s no guide, I would like to ask something somewhat spoilery.

Yay, death!

I know not everyone will survive. However I also don’t know if there are ways to save as many characters as I can. Such as this little archer girl I just recruited that I have an aching feeling I remember being discussed on a YouTube video at some point and how she dies a horrible, painful death.

I don’t mind character-deaths of course…however I also quite like the ability to personally kill the units I don’t like. I don’t know if I’ll dislike Pheme so if there’s a way I can save her life I’d like to take it. Because there does seem to be an implication that she can be saved…but apparently only on a second playthrough on, and even then it requires some significant investment that requires foresight to anticipate.

So…basically, my question is…what can I do to save characters, and how can I know which ones are on any chopping block except my own? …Without going through all the shenanigans that Pelleas and Lehran put me through with second playthroughs and whatnot.

Unit Spoiler stuff

Pheme’s the only one tied to a second playthrough. As for the rest, it generally involves paying close attention to dialogue or else not rushing in headfirst killing bosses. You WILL also want to check the yellow houses for a hint for one though since you’ll miss em otherwise.

Made it to the first camp chapter. Which characters have paired endings if you don’t mind me asking? A search through this thread didn’t yield much success for me. Paired endings are the main draw of supports for me

There’s no choice of pairings, the ones that have romance storylines have pre-determined pairs, but also as long as they are alive the supports will progress in camp even if you don’t use any of them.

Bummer.

Hey, for whatever reason none of my archers can use Maelstrom except Kyra and Pheme. Is this a bug? I’m on 2.4

EDIT: Phobos and Glaucus also can’t use Shamshir.

Shamshir is only usable by myrmidons or whatever they’re called in this one and their promotions, and Maelstrom is a personal weapon just for Kyra and Pheme

Maelstrom had the prf tag until 2.4, at which point it lost it due to an edge case where it could be used in incorrect circumstances.

I may have to look into figuring out how to restore it. It’s confusing people now.

Gonna double-post real quick: I’ve found a different way to fix the issue that maintains the prf tag on the weapon’s rank display. While I was at it, I also realized that Cupid was subject to the same problem, so I fixed that as well.

It’s too minor of a change for an update, so I’ve simply re-uploaded the patch for any future downloads.

Shamshir retains the same property it has in vanilla FE8 i.e. it cannot be used by anyone outside of myrmidon or thief class lines.

Pluto can use Shamshir if he promotes to Mamluk though this is more a reference to him being an edgelord
