currently replaying since i never finished my playthrough, i just kinda stopped at chapter 16
my new playthrough has mildly different units, namely fango on the squad
on chapter 13 now and i have 3 seals, im wondering if i should promote these goobers or hold out for a little longer, currently i also have kairos as a spellsword (went swordmaster last playthrough, that was a mistake) and zerker begona (consistently a top 3 unit)
i have never used this site besides lurking so i dont think i can post images, but its lopez with capped speed, 8 in both defenses and 10 attack, fango at level 17 with capped strength and 13 speed, and agari with 18 speed, 15 attack, and 11 def at level 18
I just started, like the story so far, most hacks are too convoluted with names and kingdoms, but here it’s different. I usually focus more on gameplay, without much pateince to walls of nonsense padding, but again - this rom is actually interesting. Not fighting bosses, is a bit strange though, but also interesting twist. Just wonder why game is so grey (like with some filter) and main lord looks like male, while being called she (design could have been better for the main character, even if it’s ugly one)?
Edit: Game is pretty hard. I don’t like level design that forces rush in every single map. I want to play the way I want, but here it’s impossible, especially without any flying unit. Allies that can’t die rush, enemy spawns out of nowhere all the time and it’s almost impossible to reach villages, before they are destroyed. I probably missed a lot of stuff along the way already. And there are more silly character designs like blacksmith. It’s still fun to play, but there are few issues, that could have been easily fixed.
Just want to note how I’ve noticed magic weapons don’t give weapon experience when using magic attacks. So however many times you use Maelstrom, Kyra won’t gain any weapon XP from it.
For magic weapons, you get wexp for magic if you hit at range and for physical if you hit at melee (yes, this includes Fell Bow)
All magic weapons boost anima wexp for hitting at range except for Runesword which is dark. Fell Bow boosts anima too despite it using the evil eye animation from vanilla, don’t ask why idk either.
I’ve tried to wait for the shrines to spit out reinforcements before trying to enter (thinking that they open up once they spawn reinforcements,) but I still can’t escape. What am I supposed to do?
You need to find the correct escape point, it gets randomized every time so you’ll have to split your units in groups to cover more ground and kill each boss, then try your luck to find the actual escape point
I’m wondering if the Master Seal Alba drops on death in Chapter 15 should’ve been moved to a different unit, like the Thunder tome White Dragoon. I’ve got no issue withholding a Hoplon Guard or a Darting Bow from the player for the sake of an easter egg, but the Master Seal kinda feels like a bit much. It’s fine as a temptation for killing Telemus, though. Maybe it could’ve been replaced with Barlowe’s Martial Scroll, or just make one of the two axes Alba wields droppable.
I mean, I would argue the opposite. Foregoing the only crit-denying item in the game until chapter 24 (right before the shamshir assassin boss) or the accurate speed bow seem way worse to me than the like 11th master seal.
Besides that, though, I put good droppables on the mini-bosses because they’re notable enemies that the player will naturally pay more attention to. The intended design is for the player to go after them for their good items, or just because they’re in the way. The easter egg is not supposed to feel like a “valid” option, it’s something you go out of your way to do to see something cool most people don’t get to see.
Hey, is it me or did Soter made a massive mistake in backing Sandraudiga ?
Like, I think Soter would had been much better off sticking to serving Dolus. He could have obtained important functions anyway, by telling Dolus what Sandradiga was doing, and continuing to serve Sandy would have been very hasardous to him, not only due to Kyra’s forces, but also because Sandradiga would had very likely purged her overly ambitious servant once he had outlived his use.
Sandraudiga would have succeeded in couping Dolus even without Soter’s aid, and staying with Dolus would mean that he ends up on the losing side of the conflict. So rather than as one of her top men he’d likely be killed.
Or, even more likely, he’d be forced to stay with Dolus during the capture of the city to bait Kyra, and thus get killed by her. Since Kyra doesn’t really care if Soter serves Sandraudiga or Dolus, she’ll pursue him and kill him either way.
Soter’s fate was sealed the moment he opted to betray Kyra. Backing Sandraudiga was a case of backing the winning horse. Also consider that Dolus himself wasn’t fully comfortable with the idea of re-knighting Soter in the first place during the ceremony, it’s likely to imagine that Dolus would’ve just had him executed at some point for leaving the inquisition.
Also as mentioned Kyra doesn’t give a fuck who Soter serves, he was as good as dead to her after betraying her
Couldn’t Soter have prevented the coup if he had snitched on Saudriga’s plans to Dolus ? Dolus would then have to demand Sandraudiga execution, use some of her atrocities to lower her credibility, and watch her either flee tartaros, or die. Or even just ask Sandy to come to her throne room, then have her executed.
I think it comes down to what Sandy was promising to Soter. As far as he knew, Sandy was on the path to godhood, and that meant that being her champion was to serve a deity on his eyes, and what’s a king to a god? So Soter felt like he would gain more by going with Sandy’s plan than serving a lord who’s reign was already decaying, regardless of what he could have feasibly done
I don’t see any reason to think that Sandraudiga would be so stupid as to allow her plans for the coup to be known to all of her soldiers before she found the information that would destroy Dolus’s credibility. Am I missing something with the order of events that indicates Soter knew that far in advance? Because by the time he shows up to tell Kyra the news about Elias and gloat about abandoning Dolus, Sandraudiga’s already pulled off her plans.
who could even execute Sandraudiga, lol? she was stronger than anyone in the theocracy, including Dolus and Alastor, and had her own army of loyalists.
