The main bonus is Fructoso is hilarious.
there’s also that whole provoke thing, though in all seriousness it’s not the game breaker in this hack that it can be in most others

I value provoke as the most powerful skill in the game. It allows for easy AI manipulation. It makes you able to play extremely aggressively, enables fun strats and obviously its also good for defending a weak unit in a pinch.
The basic setup is to equip Fructuoso normal stone (no doubles in combat), hoplite shield (no crits), pure water (usually not needed as your other units can storm the mages while other enemies focus on Fructuoso) and 1-2 range (for “passive exp”, he gains it a lot even if he doesn’t kill). He is also the prime candidate for defensive stat boosters due to maximizing their value.
The negative passive he has is pretty bad, but honestly it’s needed for how overpowered he would otherwise be. With the setup I mentioned and gaining some levels, he gets tanky enough to survive massive onslaughts, ready to be healed next turn and aggroing a pack of foes again.
I usually don’t draw much fanart but I also felt like doodling a certain Grand Inquisitor, since villains who are so evil but just run with it is fun in it’s own way.
I was wondering about the colors, but then I realized she’s standing in dim light to make herself look scarier. Cool drawing!
…Actually, with those colors she resembles Karajan from Vestaria Saga 2. Huh.
Made it to Chapter 17.
I feel like there should’ve been a chat or a line from Hestia at base camp that informs the player that Lightning tomes are now purchasable from the prep screen. Is there a convo later that goes over it?
The Hestia convo in that map does mention it. It’s a pretty quick remark in the middle of the relevant chapter talk, so I guess you just missed it.
Hi fist post here, I am here to say I have beaten the Hag in white a while ago, I did really like it, after watching the interviews on FEE3 I felt kinda of Bad in thinking the maps in this game weren’t so good, because it was my biggest complaint in that hack.
The story proper I didn’t care that much, but I did enjoy the character interactions especially involving Scymerius, even if I didn’t get his backstory, I enjoyed the other character to character convoys like that blind mage, the pro tag brother , I even felt bad for think a certain someone was a traitor to the group because he wasn’t playable until the late game.
Now that I think about I actually do really like the writing here even if I had to think about , before conclusion to this conclusion.
I played this hack on Normal and while the difficulty here was perfectly balanced, the hole 1 mage thing wasn’t that big of deal as I though it would before playing it, but I play it on casual mode.
I have already finished the game, it was fun and sad, my type of party. The characters and the story felt really complete. My favorite unit was Vasiliki (and the best). Seeing her grow was very endearing, good to know she is not that low in the popularity poll. Thank you for the good time. This is my first recommendation to a fire emblem ROM.
Finished this about last week and it shot up to one of my favorite hacks.
[Lategame character spoilers] Soter. Just, Soter. The reveal, his change in attitude after it happens, the fact he’s so self-important despite how insignificant he is in reality. What a slap to the face that the one who breaks the news of Elias’ passing is him of all people. It’s also great that the reveal happens at around the mid-point, and then you don’t get to fight him until, like, the penultimate chapter. Before that happens, though, you meet Nicaea and see the lack of satisfaction revenge has brought her; I felt called out and switched to “yeah, he has to be stopped, but he’s not worth the breath I’d spend in cursing him”. Amazing villain loved to hate him.
I’ll come back and talk about my Endgame team at a later point.
(My favorite joke was Fazang getting +1 defense despite not even being in the convo; so loud is Xinyi’s hollering. )
At Chapter 20 now.
Been checking the conversation files. Feels kinda unfair for a General Tiresias to get a Barrier staff while a Bishop Tiresias gets a Rescue staff. You could’ve given a conversation choice after the promotion where both promotions can get either staff.
I also have a glitch to report: the battle conversation between Eudoxus and Begoña in the game files doesn’t trigger.
Chapter 10 Spoilers:
Can you not change the outcome of the character?
Also I realized to late about the undead haha. So obvious after the fact haha. Well played.
you can change it but not on a fresh save. on a second playthrough of the game if Pheme is promoted to T2 (i.e. promoted out of nimrod and then promoted out of her t1 class) she will survive and rejoin 2 maps after the traitor leaves
Oh dang, you’re right. A simple flag mishap. It’s too minor an issue to warrant a new version, so I’ll simply reupload the patch with this fixed. Good catch!
As for the other thing, the barrier staff’s been reworked into essentially a Nini’s Grace staff, so the comparison isn’t as unfair as it first seems. Plus, people seem to regard General as the better class for Tiresias, so I figured giving Bishop the stronger staff would help it be more competitive. All that, and I just enjoy the little bit of flavor of him getting a different staff based on his class.
Another oddity:
I don’t think Canto is the skill that’s supposed to be displayed as gained when I promote Laertes from Dark Rider to Great Knight. He still gets Savior, though, which is why I call this an oddity and not a glitch.
EDIT 1:
Pretty interesting choice you made with Glaucus. There’s a couple points in the game where you can actually extract conversations from him during the chapters he can potentially be gone in, but getting those means not getting Glaucus as a Wyvern Lord and having him stay a horse-mounted unit. Though I suppose the only real advantage is saving 1500 gold recruiting Jason, unless there’s a few camp bonuses he gets in the missing chapters. Are there?
EDIT 2: Okay, now for a really serious question: I’m not sure how the Ziying recruitment trigger is supposed to work. I’ve had the Lost Child dropped between 9x0 and 9x6, I’ve had someone holding her wait on those spaces, I’ve had the Lost Child walk up to Ziying and wait next to them, and I’ve also seen Ziying kill the Lost Child. Don’t know what I’m supposed to do. Is this something you can only do on a second playthrough? Or is the script trigger broken?
re: the Ziying recruitment:
With the Lost Child rescued, visit the house.
Thank you. Kinda weird method, though maybe I’m just thinking back to FE5 and the Kia Staff.
One more thing about the chapter: I feel like mentioning how weird it is to establish Zhulite warriors all shave themselves bald, but then still have all the female Mamluk/Nomadic Trooper sprites still have Sue from FE6’s hairstyle.
EDIT: Going into Chapter 21, and it seems Scymerius’s gimmick can be a mess on the programming:
I wonder if he’s gonna cap at 21 or if he just has no cap anymore. I’ll have to test it in the chapter.
Alright, I’ve beat Hag In White, it’s a very great game with a very solid story. My favorite part for sure was the character writing. My favorite characters were Delilah and Jane but I loved Hestia and Kyra and a lot of the cast.
Epic all girls team.
off the top of my head if i remember this correctly Savior is assigned to GK as its class skill, while Canto is the class skill for dark riders. when you change classes the class skill is replaced so you technically lose Canto. GK is programmed to learn canto at level 1 (on promotion) so you shouldn’t lose access to it this way
This is how I FE. I did use Tireias and Wulfric for their husbandness but just little bits and bobs of them. The other gals also did see some use at least in one map but wanted to just share the end game.
