The Hag in White [COMPLETE]

1-2 is just traditionally considered valuable for EP rather than for flexibility in range, and Kairos can’t EP reliably. I also had a bad opinion of him because he dies pretty much instantly on join chapter if you don’t move correctly and want to visit all the villages and Kairos always gets stat screwed for me lol.

He is VERY good for the prison break chapter, but that’s when the fire sword is running out of uses (although there’s another one)

He shines much more after promotion, especially if your Hecate manages to hit speed thresholds, but then you feel kinda sad about ever using swords on him lol

I also prefer not to use men. Because they’re men. I have a bias against men. He isn’t peggable enough, I can’t. I just can’t

is this because i gave him abs in my other picture

no that improved him for me

fwiw Kairos shouldn’t really be running out of magic swords unless

kairos

you didnt pick the wind sword in chapter 9

while the fire brand does break quickly the first one you get should generally be enough to last you until the ch7 armory, you can just grab another, and by the time you get to the next armory you should also have Polonius aka Bargain Man which drives down the costs of what you want to get from future shops tbh

that said if you also promote him to spellsword he more or less gets off the reliance on magic swords which is also neat

yasako misandry arc wtf

How is he getting the sword rank for the wind sword?

what do you mean arc?

edit: Also because I love Pluto, I get the Shadow Bow or whatever it was called every time Demeter asks what I want

Edgy bow for (wannabe) edgy boi

you can use fire sword at melee to gain sword rank, there should be a reasonable amount of axe enemies that dont hit him once his spd growth kicks in

Hmm. You hate men, and yet you love Pluto? Curious.

I had a lot of fun playing this romhack, just another Rubenio banger. I haven’t played the postgame or had a second playthrough but this is already a pretty good benchmark to compare other romhacks to and is also what they should try and emulate in terms of gameplay innovation.
Personally, I liked the plot of Dark Stone more than this and consider it your best work, but I might be biased there because Sacred Stones was my first Fire Emblem game and it was great to see it remade in that way but other than that, this was definitely more strategically engaging.
I really enjoyed the camp mechanic and more romhacks should probably do that, it was nice to see a lot of queer characters in this and the way the final boss was handled was incredible and entertaining, my jaw dropped. I also liked the dream sequence with Elias.
I will say, though, I found the latter half better story-wise than the first half, can’t exactly put my finger on why though. I’m sure it’ll grow on me on subsequent playthroughs. Oh yeah, and one small critique: I wasn’t sure how old Elias was supposed to be cause he talks more like a depressed teenager than a sickly brooding child/tween. Also losing Pheme after I’d managed to get her out of the trainee phase sucked but I’m hearing you can save her on subsequent playthroughs so I forgive you. The Soter twist was cool though.
Anyways, looking forward to see what you come up with next!

finished this hack the other day and wanted to say i really really enjoyed it, genuinely feels like my standard for fe hacks is gonna be up there for a while since this is the first one i’ve ever played haha

but speaking of that, i dunno if this is specifically a quirk or an actual bug, but found something funky while playing through the postgame

technically postgame spoiler details

the silence status doesn’t seem to affect any of the physical magic tomes (or at the very least, Spiral) so it pretty much just does absolutely nothing on any magic-using enemies carrying exclusively those kinds of weapons lol

in any case, again, thank you very much for your Cool Hack™! i sunk a very good amount of time into this and will probably keep going at it a bit longer still

(edit: i say postgame though i think this may be also possible to see in final chapter? in any case it’s still a spoiler i suppose)

Glad you enjoyed the hack!

About that thing

Silence’s description does specify “magic tomes,” but I understand it’s unintuitive. I did make sure there aren’t any physical tomes in the final map after getting feedback about this, but for postgame I wasn’t as concerned.

gotcha gotcha, very understandable haha
i’m almost done with the postgame anyhow so it’s not too big a deal, was just curious s’all

Hi, I tried searching the thread but I couldn’t find anyone else mentioning it. I’m dealing with some minor hiccups on the map menus. There’s a slight delay when moving between different unit portraits or after selecting a weapon before the battle forecast window shows up.

I’d be inclined to think it was an issue with my emulator (mGBA core via RetroArch) but I don’t have any kind of issue on the other FE GBAs or any other ROMhacks (booted TMGC to test and it was all fine).

Is this a known issue with the ROM that others are dealing with? It’s not game breaking by any means but if there’s a fix or if no one else has this issue and it has to be an emulation issue on my end then I’d like to try and figure that out.

Thanks!

Yes, there’s a bit of loading lag that’s extremely annoying. I think it’s from the specific FEBuilder MMB or something. A lot of FEBuilder hacks have that slight lag when changing units lol

So uhhhhhhh

Is this supposed to happen?

I am reminded of a bug in FE12 where horsemen would rarely raze villages for no apparent reason. I lost one of the Altea mutual exclusives to that, and I once saw a post on Serenesforest claiming that a member of the Wolfguard destroyed the village with King Aurelis in it. Amazing stuff all around.

As for this, I did indeed set that enemy’s AI to attack the village by mistake. Of course, the enemy is close enough to the starting point that no one has ever noticed it before. Thanks for catching it!
