I figured some people here might be interested in this. But, as more of a bit of a personal science project I went and made a video documenting the earlier influences on SRPGs before Fire Emblem/Langrisser/Shining Force/Tactics Ogre. Talks primarily about what games influenced Kaga, and how we even got to the point of Fire Emblem 1. Have fun.
