What about a war cleric like Lord ( you would still have access to Healing but you would also be able to protect said Lord with themselves also can prevent a soft lock in the case of only having the Lord alive)

Part of the benefit of a lord is softlock prevention, you’re always expected to have 1 unit that can do combat or otherwise finish the chapter. That being said, losing your last healer is probably a more common scenario than losing your last combat unit, so its probably better for ironmans for a healer lord.
A healer lord also has story limitations to keep in mind. You’ll need to justify why your lord uses staves versus offensive magic/weapons. You lord could be a civilian priest, or sickly and unable to directly take part in combat, or perhaps thought that fighting is brutish and icky and never prepared for day their kingdom gets ransacked. Celica and Michiah are both healers, but their backstories give them reasons to also know offensive combat.Alot of intresting story possibilities compared to other weapon types, but it limits more than others as well.
