Basically what the title says, I would like for you guys to recommend me some simpler hacks to play. While the big ones are sure fun, I find the abundance of mechanics, characters and sometimes even of chapters to be overwhelming and I drop them midway.

That’s not really helpful since most of those don’t list how long they are or if they do, it’s like 20+ chapters.
Storge is 5 chapters.
The MARTH entries are i believe all just one chapter.
What’s your definition of short and your definition of simple? Without anything to go off of this is super unspecific and it’s hard to make a recommendation
I actually started playing storge and found it pretty cool but didnt get around to finish it, I also played closing act and it was one of the most fun hacks i played
you should also try pokemblem no bias
overall game isn’t short, but every battle is short and the stakes are low (can always backtrack and revive)
there are no hidden items
