I’m trying to work in a custom tileset and I needed a new type of fortress/castle, the pieces were taken from the Frontier tileset by {Flasuban, Wave, and ZoramineFae}

Hello, I want to show you some of the stuff that I was working on.

Elimine Tower BG
I edited the “temple” BG from FE7,
Background Editor FE8 - Vanilla.gba_47@2F_95DF50

Snow BGs
I edited some BGs from FE8 with colors of snow

I feel that I still need some feedback about them

The Elimine Tower background looks great. But for the snow backgrounds… I don’t think just a palette swap works. You need to add actual snow to the image.

I would recommend the spray paint tool in either MS Paint or Aseprite. Preferibly Aseprite, since it allows you to work with layers and with a limited palette.

I think the palette swap works fine, but it can look better with real snow. But where is the spray paint tool in Aseprite?

Right under the pencil tool

Were you talking about something like this?

Hahaha it seems that you played a lot with the program I recommended you xD

Err… I didn’t mean falling snow. I was talking more about having snow accumulated on top of the trees and on the ground. The in-game snow weather effect can already apply over cutscenes.

This is an example of what I meant

I only used to edit the “temple” BG, the others were created with Aseprite but worked fine

Ohh, I’m dumb then XD
Okay I’ll try it later

All these maps were made when I was just starting in the mapping of FE, they were in another topic but I decided to bring them to this topic, for in the future make them some upgrades.

PD1: I’m using the Super Fields Tileset by WAve, RandomWizard, and Beast.
PD2: Forgive my awful mapping skills.
PD3: I’m using the Improved Castle (Tileset and Animations) by N426

Looks like I’m obsessed with making the maps from Marth’s games with other styles. I put all the maps in order of appearance in the games
