It’s just messing with you to my knowledge. Not only are they just far enough from Kane’s starting position or where you can optionally put Ron, but they’re also all holding weapons to my knowledge, which would require Steal+ to take, not just Steal - something neither Kane nor Ron have.

Uh, it’s been awhile since I’ve though about this hack. But i do have my slightly edited personal patch if anybody wants it.
I also think the discord was deleted for some reason. Last anything i can find from helix on discord is from like two years ago.
Oh, and for the sake of it my only personal changes is most personal weapons are unbreakable and I dropped enemy halberdiers speed and skill growths by 30% so they aren’t as guarenteed to slaughter you.

Ey, last time I speaked with him was at the end of the development of the hack, so many years ago, I still have him in Discord, if he still uses the same account, but havent tried speaking with him
