Thanks for sharing this! It seems we have had very similar experiences. Shadow of Dawn will be my next game to play as I have finished The Dark amulet last year.
The most interesting one I’ve played that’s not on your list is AllHandsOnDeck. I think it could use some polish but thought it had potential.
To inject my own disappointment it is the Bell of Bylean, I really wanted to like this one as a fan of Thracia 776 and it’s inspiration being laid bare from the first couple chapters but it quickly gets boring and the map design becomes extremely poor.

I searched for this other hack you mentioned with the intention of trying it but it says work in progress so I think I’ll wait a little so I play it when it’s finished, it looks very unique based on the screenshots
About BoB I… technically tried it at some point, but I didn’t feel like continuing it at the time, I don’t know why, and reading your comment now makes me feel less like I missed out on some crazy positive surprise
I appreciate seeing any (…….. Saga) criticism! Though you could’ve mentioned the horrible RNG elements that are introduced haphazardly in the hack.
Edit: I’d love for you to play Bells of Byelen sometimes, and hear your thoughts on it!

Oh i really, really wanted to write way more, what stopped me was that I thought it was already getting too long compared to the others and that it might feel tiring or bad to read (for some reason?) so in the end it was like ~50% of my thoughts

No, there are 2 versions , 1 is a fe8 romhack needing .ups just like any other romhack u can play on mGBA etc that is complete 100% (check Youtube since i cant post link here )
and another 1 is a Remake being made in the Lex Talionis wich is the PC only program i think but that 1 is not complete.

Also, I’ve been replaying Souls of the Forest to write a longer, more detailed review since it’s in my top 3, but I have this weird habit of slowing down (or even stopping completely) whenever I get close to the end of something, I have no idea why I do that lol, so it’s taking longer than I expected.

I’ve actually tried restoration army a few years ago too, and I remember it being very buggy and prone to crashing, is that still true?
It has some minor visual bugs but I didn’t experience any crashing
