Map animations glitch

Base game: fe8

I’ve been having this weird map animations glitch where certain units have their map sprite changed by the game or even some tile where there isn’t suppose to be a unit at all displaying the map sprite of a unit. I’ve also noticed a random escape pointer show up on one of the mountain tiles

does anybody have any experience regarding this phenomenon? and how do you fix it? is it an AP thing?

I ended up with something similar when there were too many different types of map sprites on the map at once. I would try reducing that and seeing if there is any change.
