Loading ROMS; add-ons

I’ve finally downloaded FEBuilder GBA and now I’m at the point where the application is asking me what to download. I only downloaded Event Assembler because I only wanted to make one single map/battle.

After, it asked me what ROM to load. I tested several ROMs of Fire Emblem 8, yet I get an error message saying that the ROM I’ve loaded is broken. I don’t know what to do after this, and I have a good feeling that the rest of this won’t be as easy.

If this doesn’t work, are there any other programs to use? I may just use mGBA directly

Just in case:

  • roms will never be .exe
  • it should be a 16mb .GBA file

Using mgba would be for playing the game. Febuilder is for editing it.

Dumping your fe8u cartridge:

Your explanation was a bit helpful but there has to be some way that the quoted post you replied on can be explained MUCH better.

Bro, you have to download FeBuilder too since it will be necessary to edit your fire emblems

What Vesly linked was a way to dump a ROM yourself, if you can’t find one to download. It’s against the rules to link to actual ROMs, so you’ll just have to search for one yourself.

FEBuilder loads vanilla games as well as romhacks, so if it says it’s broken, you might be loading the wrong file. Are you sure it’s a .gba file?

If it is, then you’ll have to be more specific as to what the problem is, preferably with screenshots so we can spot anything you might be misunderstanding.
