My main character, Hazel, is bi and has 4 men and 4 women to choose from. One of which is a decently important lesbian wyvern rider. There’s also a somewhat jolly ace prison guard who plays an important role and only gets platonic endings to show that.
I’m sure some other characters may pop up in development, but my game isn’t focused on that stuff, as I’m just writing with my gut. Generally, the setting is pretty egalitarian in that regard and no one generally bats an eye in-universe.

One of my characters (unsurprisingly the self-insert) goes on her own journey of discovery that she’s a woman through her interlinked support chains between people, and it ends with a few people coming together in a big group A support to pool together enough magic to magically change how she looks to make her feel better. It even switches the classes over from male to the female versions.
Not sure how popular it is to have a plot like that be an optional sub-plot since it’s completely optional if you so choose, but it is a journey that starts at questioning and finishing at embracing herself.

I’m sure optional is fine. The fact that it’s a thing you can do is rep enough, imo. There will be other hacks that make it mandatory anyway.

From a cursory search it looks like no one has mentioned the very cool & epic General Pikno, from A Prugressian Tale. Pikno is nonbinary and generally referred to with neutral pronouns by other characters. They wear this custom-built, full-body armor at all times and refer the suit of armor they wear as an extension of their self, basically. I hadn’t completed the hack yet so I can’t comment super extensively on Pikno and their gender but they’re easily one my faves when it comes to lgbt+ characters I’ve seen in FE hacks. I mean firstly Pikno is cool as hell second it’s just such a unique approach to writing a nonbinary character and something that can only really be done in the type of setting FE games take place in. Pretty much gold standard when it comes to how to make an lgbt+ Fire Emblem character tbh

They don’t have a paired ending together (at least not that group) but it makes the one character’s endings different, since she’ll go on to do different things if she finishes the game female. (There’s a lack of direct romances between characters due to the fact that they’re all stand-ins for real people.)
But if I did this in the context of another game, I’d say maybe even some romance endings would change if there were any.

Best part is that from what I seen pretty much all of them are not bad either as far fe games go.
Only thing sucks is that some I can’t find anywhere though. Might be nice getting those too though…
