I'd Like To Be Turned Into a Fire Emblem 7 Character

Hi Fire Emblem fans! Good evening or good morning. I’m a huge Fire Emblem fan myself and the first Fire Emblem game I played was Fire Emblem 7 on the GBA back in 2003.

I’ve created an AI generated character stats card of me using a photo of me and portrait to give y’all an idea. I was wondering. Can someone help me create a sprite, fighting animation, etc of me? I would if I knew how to. Thank you!

Not that I’m nearly skilled enough as an artist (pixel or otherwise) to warrant a commission, but how much money do you plan to offer?

What’s a reasonable offer :palm_up_hand:t3:. I don’t want to suggest an amount without knowing what would be fair and reasonable.

For a portrait you’re usually looking at anywhere from $35 → $50 USD.

For a reskinned battle animation, you’d be looking at $40 → $120 USD, depending on the number of weapons and complexity of the animation, plus another $15 for the map sprite.

For a fully custom battle animation, you’re looking at anywhere from $230 → $500 USD not including the map sprite.

Thanks lol ! Appreciate you. I think what I’ll do is palette recolor Raven from Fire Emblem 7 to match mine, and use the normal Mercenary/Hero animations. I know how to use FE Builder. Use AI to generate a portrait with the exact same dimensions. Replace Priscilla for my sister Sasha and adjust the game text to say Lawrence and Sasha in all places that Raven and Priscilla are mentioned.

I will say that generative AI is pretty frowned upon in this community (and as a writer, I hate it too) as it sources from actual talented community artists as well as official art – so don’t expect positive feedback if you release any projects using it.

That said, recoloring the Raven battle animation is a pretty good idea just based on the design of your AI-generated character – the outfits line up and it’s a fairly simple process.

Personally I don’t like using AI for this either but I don’t have a choice. That character picture and character stats card were AI generated using a photo of me in which case the AI didn’t select any sources from talented artists. The prompt that I gave the AI was after attaching a photo of me was: Turn me into a Fire Emblem character like Raven. That’s what the AI generated. No one has turned me into a Fire Emblem character till I did it today.

I mean, if you had the funds, you could always ask someone to sprite it (or teach you how), they’d probably really like to help you.

I only have experience with painting softwarers I’ve used to change the color values of character portraits and I’m very adept using FE Builder. Thanks for the idea though.

You can splice to an acceptable standard without any background in graphic design or visual art. The Character Creator exists. There are plenty of choices even if a fair commission price is out of your budget. And realistically, you would almost certainly have to manually clean up any generated image for it to be inserted anyway.

I’m also going to suggest you keep an eye on the “pme” and “pick_my_edits” tags. Just remember to read any particular project’s rules before submitting.
