So I have this thing where I get bored of what my username is on discord so I just change my username and profile pick every couple of weeks, with a rule that every version of that username containts 3 parts which can be abbreviated to 3 front letters. I kinda test people and see how long it takes them to notice who I am.
So randomness being random, how often do you switch usernames or profile pics on the medias and why
it takes me months/years for me to change my profile pics anywhere lmao i have a

I change my profile picture as I evolve. Like a Pokemon.
I haven’t change mine for years. My username is still “The covid strike back” and the profile pics is still the picture of my wife and kid

Practically never. I’ve changed it once from my old PSU profile pic from the month before PC/PS2 servers went down (2010), to just 3 years ago with the Monster Hunter World one I use now. (2021)
Didn’t really have a solidified pfp before- most socials barely used them outside of forums back then.
Barely username. As I find new favorite characters I change my pfps.
I once changed my username from FlamingZelda to FlamingZelda3.
This is because back in 2016 I deleted my gamer email and consolidated all my accounts to another email.
As for pfps… I usually stick with a site’s default until someone says something about it. From then I tend to change it every 3 or 4 years.
On discord I have a furret pfp & I change its expression every few months.

As unfortunate as it is, I have not thought of a better name for myself in over 7 years.
Never. I occasionally might stick a silly title on the end or follow a nickname trend on the discord, but the avatar and actual username have been the same since the day I registered.
The name UltraFenix has been with me since childhood, and even though I’ve had other online names, I don’t intend to change this one anymore. My profile picture depends a lot on my mood that day; I might keep the same picture for months or just for a single day.

I never really change names and pfps too. At least on the main social media I use I just go by my real name mixed with another word (an username I’ve had ever since my childhood when I played on my Xbox 360 btw), and I have a pfp of a plasma peashooter from PVZGW.

I had alot of username changes in the beginning but the one i liked was alex yt because i wanted to be in some guys object show with his friends but then i realised that theres alot of alex yts in the world so i added my object show at that type xg (x’s game) to it.
At first known as vepere which was a name given to me by a school friend, I decided to change it to something like the skill sureshot from Fe8, which then became surehit. I’ve been using this name online ever since. For portraits, I never change unless I’m unhappy with my current one/I updated it.
