I discovered when it a long time ago on a 3ds. my dad had bought me a 200 or something games in one cartridge and I saw fire emblem shadow dragon. I started playing and the rest is history. But because of my short attention span, I’ve never actually beaten any of the games. ![]()
My half-brother cracked open a guide for the then yet-to-be released Super Smash Brothers Brawl with me. I confused Marth for a woman (was going through some gender things myself at 10), and being a lover of fantasy (swords! dragons!) decided to pick up “the game” on my GBA.
The game was, of course, FE7. Five minutes in and I no longer cared about Marth because here’s Lyn. And uh, my gender stuff only got worse with Lucius. And then Limstella. It’s probably not an understatement that it contributed to me coming out as non-binary three years later.
Later on my friend Amara, from school, borrowed that GBA gamepak and “lost” it. A shame to be sure, but by that time I’d discovered emulation, and was already eating my way through other games.
Super Smash Bros Melee got me curious and some friends at school were raving about how good the American localized game was. They were talking about FE7, but when I went to the store I didn’t know the difference yet and bought FE8 instead thinking it was the only FE game released here ![]()
I regret nothing. I played tf out of FE8, my friends played it after learning about it from me and loved it too. Now I’m here 20 years later modding it so I can play it even more lol
I was looking for other Pokemon ROMHacks to play after finishing Gaia when I accidentally misclicked on FE8. But it got my interest, and I thought it might be good to play other GBA games for now. FE8 hooked me in real quick, and I grabbed FE7 and FE6 shortly afterwards.
Best misclick ever.![]()
That JelloApocalypse video caught my eye and made me interested.
A cousin dumped his copies of fe6, 7 and 8 from his cartridges and when he visited one time while I was YOUNGSURU he gave me copies. He also gave me randomizers until I bought awakening for myself
Almost 20 years ago a YouTuber called McGammar did a let’s play of Fire Emblem 7, I saw Lyn and was hooked. Later my sister discovered emulation and my first fire emblem game was Fire Emblem 8
Friend in highschool knew I liked strategy games and introduced me. Emulated on pc of course. They were stuck on an FE7 map and wanted help. Don’t recall if we ever finished it then. More than 10 years now, unsure exactly how far back.
Was Ch19!
Uncle gifted me a NDS when I got into highschool, took me a year to discover the exist of flash card, took me another 2 months to discover FE11 in bunch of games that was copied to the card by the seller
One day when I was 12, I was scrolling through gba games on an emulator (newer game consoles were already out, like the wii, but I just liked GBA) I saw Fire emblem 7 for the first time, and decided to play it. After getting tired of it, I decided that thes fire emblem games were pretty good, so I played FE8, and although I only had duessel, Ephraim and Seth by the boat map, I enjoyed it even more. The rest is history.
I met this random girl who was playing birthright who married kaden and had a playable mikoto in her file and thats all it took to get me interested ( linus reed is atp the only thing keeping me in the franchise)
Was young (around 15 y/o) and had a GBA. Got Fire Emblem 7 from a friend, then bought Fire Emblem 8. Played both of them a lot until I grew older then bought a Switch to play Three Houses. The rest is, just as well for me now, history.
Somethig the jedi would not tell you…
smash bros melee was my first exposure to fe
but then i seen fe7 in some magazine and it looked interesting so i eventually got it

I saw the characters in Smash Bros. Brawl and Wii U but I never actually saw what the series was like until that video.
I played smash brawl a lot and wanted to know where the characters are from
Played a lot of final fantasy games. Decided to check out another long rpg series
smash bros and thought Marth’s final smash where the full massive hp bar going down to 0 was insane and cold. Thought Fire Emblem must be one hell of a game. Also my knowledge of advance wars.
Many years ago, Nintendo released the 3DS. I bought it on day one. Then they cut the price, and they gave away a bunch of free games to early adopters.
One of those games was FE8.
Short attention span? So you get Bor[e]d easily?
