Hey all, Juustar here

I’ve been on and off lurking these forums for years and finally decided to actually make an account. I’m a long-time FE fan, but also one who has only played like, half of the games. I’m a sucker for the GBA games (especially FE7, my first game and the one which I’ve probably played a dozen times) and recently decided to start working on an FE7 rework patch as my first FEBuilder project, so that’s kinda why I’m here lol.

Anyway, aside from Fire Emblem, I play a lot of Arknights, Terraria, and Roblox (yeah. I know.). Every once in a while I watch anime/read manga, but my main hobby outside of gaming is hosting and participating in text-based TTRPGs on Discord; I’ve always loved writing and game making but was never really dedicated enough to become a “real” writer or developer so I just kinda started making shit up with my friends

Dunno how active I’ll be around here, but I do hope I can learn a lot from my current romhack project, it’d be real cool to turn some of my original ideas into hacks one day

For those curious, the FE games I’ve played and how I feel about them:
FE1 - It’s So Ass…
FE2 - This close to being fun but It’s So Ass…
FE3 - Haven’t finished it yet, but it’s aight
FE7 - Peak FE content, fight me
FE8 - Too short but otherwise peak
Awakening - Never finished it despite starting playthroughs like six times. I do not know why.
Fates (Birthright only) - Imma be real its been like a decade I dont know anymore
Echoes - Pretty damn good
3H - Character writing? Fire. VW+AM? Fire. Everything else? Kill it with fire.
Engage - I like the story. Sue me.
Heroes - Played it at launch. Never looked back.

Welcome, welcome! Engage is easily the best game in the franchise.

If you get a chance i can’t recommend FE5 enough.

3h had the makings of a great “The church is evil” plot w/ themes of needing to move on from the past but the writers went “durrrr romans of da tree kingdumbs” and screwed it up.

I tried to play Tellius once a while back but I couldn’t get the emulator to run :frowning:

I’ll play them some day but I have the urge to play the games in numbered order so it’ll be a while

Mostly Arcane Odyssey and Outcome Memories, with a bit of this scuffed little game called Blood Debt on the side

Doors and Pressure are also pretty cool but I kinda played through all of their content so there’s not much reason to keep playing them

You never finished Awakening? Have you ever tried it with the Awakening Project Thabes mod? It massively improves the story and writing. Thabes Overwritten Mod for Fire Emblem Awakening | FEA Mods

I kinda prefer to play FE games purely vanilla the first time around, to get the proper experience. And it’s not like I hated Awakening either, I just repeatedly find myself drifting away from it after a while

I mean, clearly hating an FE game isn’t enough to stop me from beating it, since I beat FE1.

…Wait. No. I didn’t beat FE1. Because the game bugged and locked me out of my convoy where my Falchion was stored so I couldn’t kill the final boss without rigging a bunch of repeated Devil Sword crits which I was too lazy to do.

Yeah, for example, you only really get how much we tried with Sacred Echoes after playing SOV.

Well, anyway, I guess you might have better luck with Shadow Dragon…? Maybe?

Oh probably. To be honest 99% of the reason I didn’t enjoy the NES games was because of how archaic it all was. The SNES games seem fine from what little I’ve played of FE3

Whats your favourite class if its not related to staff rip. Heres a wrap staff :magic_wand: which you may or may not be able to use. here are pyromaniac dropping bombs around this places it is not safe here

They also didn’t use a lot of their villains well, Solon and Kronya had ao much potential and just ended being jobbers in the most unsatisfying way
