Funny FE7 Quirk I Found

Some time ago, I decided to play FE7 again and I was playing on Lyn mode. I only recently remembered one little thing I found…
During the event battle in Chapter 5 where Erk attacks a bandit, he suddenly got a crit and one-shotted said bandit. I don’t have a video, but I do have this screenshot from right after.


The bandit remains on map even after the battle at 0 health. When you attack it, your units will deal no damage, defying the displayed damage they should be doing. And while I can’t quite remember-- so don’t take my word for this-- I’m pretty sure the bandit could counterattack despite being at melee range. It then immediately dies after a round of combat.
Has anyone ever encountered this before? I’m willing to bet at least one person has, but I never knew it was possible for this to occur. Something tells me the “event battle” might not be an event battle at all, since it had to have used the standard RNG track to get this result. Event battles force results. But the glitched bandit definitely shows this wasn’t supposed to happen.

Yes this is known. Funny little oversight.

Figured as much. I wasn’t expecting this to happen in a casual playthrough, though, that’s for sure. I wonder why the game doesn’t just do a normal event battle. But FE7 is well-known enough that people should’ve encountered something like this before.

They do a infact do a regular event battle in tutorial mode, they specifically branch the event for when you are not in the tutorial(aka hard mode) to instead do this “non-scripted” event battle.
