To the maker. When producing an update that changes skills, bases, growths, please clarify which units are being changed and which stats for clarity sake.

Favoritism for certain characters/excluding certain characters from balance changes is not a good take at all. There’s no reason Cath needs to join as a Lvl 7 Rogue when considering the levels of Chad and Astolfo in particular or the levels of your roster in general at that point in the game. Nor is that faithful in any way to vanilla, where she’s a Lvl 5 Thief. And if you care at all about gameplay, buffing any flying units needs to be done with extreme discretion.

There was no good points being made and I didn’t bother to reply. You guys just agree with each other lol. No good justification for why a FE6 remake should be inspired by Heroes over vanilla FE6. Nor any good justification provided for why characters need to be broken.

I’m guessing the Mag increases is to match Str stat or for Light Brand/Levin Sword usage (I don’t even know if Mag stat factors in).

Same for the Str increases. Probably just to match Mag or something as I don’t see any use for it.

Wolt didn’t need that big of a Spd buff.

Alen didn’t really need more Str, neither did Lance need more Spd.

I don’t find Cath to have stupidly OP combat. The problem is just starting promoted and at such a high level.

Sophia didn’t need Def, as stated before.

I think rather than compare PE vs. ZeN, it would be better to create a spreadsheet of differences of PE against vanilla, and of ZeN’s hack vs. vanilla.

Edit: Started a spreadsheet. Check your PM.

ZeN surprising us with new exclusive characters.

And he’s just bleeding a lil bit. It’s just a flesh wound.

Just so I keep this one seen, most units in a hack with a Str/Mag split are generally given a growth in the opposed due weapon access of one of their promotions. As in a war monk does need some level of strength due to gaining axes on promotion. While the Bolt Axe is in this hack it’s doubtful Saul can use it without some axr training first.

I’m pretty sure Bolt axe is lilina’s prf

It is, but that was sorta irrelevant to my point. Though a few more Magic Weapons and Physical Spells could be added to the roster of generic weapons.

I see. But that still doesn’t make sense for, say, Alen and Lance, who promote to Paladin/Great Knight, neither of which gains tome access on promotion.

And as MageBoy said, Bolt Axe is already Lilina’s Prf in this hack (even though it’s not a Prf in other vanilla games, like Fates).

In their case, it’s due to the Wind Sword, Light Brand, and Runesword all using their users magic stat. Which act as an Anima, Light and Dark tome respectively when use against a magic user.

Gotcha…Hadn’t used the magic swords much yet and hadn’t paid attention to whether they use Mag stat or not. Good to know.

Regarding the Bolt Axe, I guess ZeN could extend weapon lock to characters like Saul like he did with Wing Spear, which is weapon locked to both Thany and Thea. Or just make Bolt Axe non-Prf and come up with either a new axe for her or nothing at all (Studious Tome is enough).

I will say, the Bright Bow is another weapon that applies.

But, I’ve always been for just adding “Enchanted” weapons to the default pool (1-range strength bases res hitting weapons) and “Brick” Tomes (1-range magic using defense hitting tomes) just so there is some trickery that can be pulled as well as setting up kills easier in some cases.

I don’t know if they need to be 1 range necessarily rather than just the normal 2 range, but I’m all for adding weapons that are tactically interesting, and Str hitting Res and Mag hitting Def falls into that category.

It can be fun for catching some less attentive players off guard, placing a mage to fend off other mages just to get “surprised” with a brick to the face.

It’s just an idea, but since Larum is already a dancer, Elffin, in addition to using light magic, could use the effects of the FE7 Rings on allies. (Thor’s Ire, Ninis’ Grace, Filla’s Might and Set’s Litany). And instead of rings, it would, of course, be songs. In the game’s own item files, there are already these musical notes icons:
Item Icons Fire Emblem - The Binding Blade Remake.gba_171@AB_011F76B8
Item Icons Fire Emblem - The Binding Blade Remake.gba_172@AC_011F7738

Like I said, it’s just an idea to give more value to the character without needing (maybe…) a promotion. But what do you think?

Can’t, that requires giving elfinn back access to dancing.
