Fire Emblem Romhack Wiki?

I don’t know how stupid this would sound or if it would be even feasible to make it… but would it be a good idea to make a wiki or website chronicling information about Fire Emblem Hacks/fangames?

During the ongoing lifespan of the hacking community, several hacks have been released with their own unique stories and characters, and I think it’d be a nice idea to implement something like this to make an overview of the hacks plot, characters, items and so on easier to see, especially since newer hacks often tend to have more complex plots that could be a bit harder to understand completely and more unique items with very interesting (if not even absurd) effects.

I do know that most hacks already come with a guide telling every secret, the units growths and bases, which units are recruitable and the like, alongside Discord bots like Cromar, which allow you to see the what the hack has, but I do think having a website, that contains the information, which you can quickly navigate, is a good idea. I’ve seen several Pokemon Hacks having their own Wikis, and while yes, it makes sense for them to have these seeing as Pokemon is a more popular franchise than FE and has several hidden things unlike FE Games that are mostly straightforward, I am still of the opinion that there’s a point to be made about potential FE Hack Wikis.

So, what do you all think? Would something among the lines of a FEU Wiki make sense? Or should it be up to the hacks/fangames creators to make their own wiki/website for the game they’ve made?

It’s not that it’s a bad idea per se; really it’s just a huge amount of work to be doing

I think that it would be a huge undertaking, but would still be cool since there’s not a lot of info about everything. It could be totally possible to set stuff up and let people even insert their own hacks as they please.
It’d be tough for one person to start out with, but I would totally help if there was an undertaking to do it.
(I think Andaron Saga has its own wiki? You’d have to verify that tho.)

Dedicated Wikis would probably be the best call, as it allows for a more easy to follow bout of information about the topic, but a general Wiki for say, finished fangames, would also not be a half bad idea.

It just depends on how people do it at the end of the day, idea sounds neat but nobody’s had enough time to get it off the ground properly.

That sounds like an excellent idea. Granted, it would be a lot of work to boil down everything into a Wiki page, but I’d be willing to contribute.

Do you mean it’s branded as an FEU Wiki, or it runs on the FEU website directly?

For sure a general Wiki, just to prevent confusion for newer users.

don’t think it’d really add much, and hell, there’s never really much reason to need to easily find all the info that a screenshot doesn’t already do.
hacks really don’t have complicated enough plots to need a wiki to understand and items with crazy effects are usually displayed in game. or in cases of having mysterious effects (ex: the s rank dark tome in TMGC’s random effectiveness modifiers on certain types of units) the point of the weapon is made null because the fact it’s supposed to be a secret/surprise is now gone if the effect of what and who is listed.

plus as others have said it’d just be alotta work since there’s still quite a bit to sift through, compile, and then write up good summaries of. all for arguably not much gain, since many hacks aren’t so granular that you’ll have enough info that really needs documentation in any sense. for the time and effort you’d also be bound to get more eyes on hacks by making LPs than setting up and maintaining a wiki. and you can pretty often get by on just playing by the beat, no growth viewer or any of that type of stuff needed
