I believe it is because their differences are almost new maps, bug fixes and optimizations, and I also use save files from old version when developing new version. However, I cannot promise it so always use it at your own risk.

v5.27 has English in game option, while latest version doesn’t.
My friend, I install it in a thousand ways and I can’t get it to be played in English. It only appears in Japanese. as I do? and sorry for the inconvenience caused
The English is only for story text. The UI is still Japanese. Choose English in option menu and restart the chapter, then the story will be in English. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I downloaded the 5.27 version and I can’t seem to find the English option. I believe I’ve exhausted all possible menu options currently available and still can’t find it. Could you post screen shots of every menu step to get to the correct configuration page? I haven’t started the game proper yet, so maybe the option unlocks later, but the closest I found was the menu page that had every option except two greyed out
Start a new game and skip through opening until you reach map, then open options menu here.
Scroll down and change to English here.
Reload the map.

i go to the settings but that option isn’t in the list for me, there’s no setting toggle between the star and the dice icon

i don’t know why i made a reply lol i saw the solution you said to do i’m just stupid, but anyway i have the right rom but i’m confused by what the other guy said reload the map, i’ve tried multiple ways of exiting the game after i toggle the setting to english but when i come back its not in English, i’m sorry for bothering you with my earlier reply
Restart the chapter, and the scenarios will be in English. UI is not translated.
I only saw v1.0 .bps for FE 6 and I tried to patch it to a clean FE 6 JP rom and it turns white from the get go
