FIRE EMBLEM - Code of the Black Knights: Decisive Edition (30 chapters)

I actually went with the Noir route that doesn’t give anima and staves. Better mobility seemed more important, and I’ve found myself stretched thin trying to get two Magic’s, let alone three plus staves up to S.

For Schwartz, I went the Great Lord route. He’s a monster, and sword + axe seems to give me sufficient offensive options. The mobility issue was solved by giving him a booster item that increased move by 2. I was still pretty happy with him with 6 move, and at times regret not giving the booster to Rose. I wish there was an archetype like her, and more magic weapons in general, in all FE games.

I have found two bugs I do not know if they have been found already but anyways: They both occur on chapter 18-3 And the choices I had made prior were
Have Mercy on Katarce
Follow orders
Stay behind
and no not charge after Vert
The first one is that when a the General near the middle left side of the map moves after he finishes his action all units on screen turn into bugged entities of some sort and the roar noise plays over and over again.
The second one is that the Summoner near the Falco knight with a berserk staff summons more enemies on the enemy phase after Shwarze shows up Shwarze myseriously dies even if he is not in enemy range and even if rescued resulting in a softlock on this chapter. I don’t know if the units I have help but these are the units I had:
Uploading: image.png…

I hope this issue can be fixed or has been fixed already.

Another thing to report here:

I don’t know if this happens if they are not married. But Similar to the Sally bug that The Averagest experienced when he played it but even if Cecil sacrificed himself to save Oliver he shows up at Swarze and Noir’s wedding like nothing ever happened.

Third one in a row: When A Ashura is defending with a 1-2 range weapon and gets attacked by a berserker who is attacking with a 1-2 range weapon the game will freeze upon the Ashura’s counter attack. I don’t know if the specific set up was nessacary but here it is:

Tolkein(my Ashura in this case) was attacked by the Berserker diagonally right from the warrior on enemy phase the Berserker had a tomohawk and Tolkein had a handaxe It was not the first counter but rather the second counter attack that it froze on. The music would keep playing while the game was frozen but nothing would happen both units would be frozen.

My Asura froze when facing a Zombie unit, but only sometimes. Unsure what the deal is.
Oh, and a crit on a Juggernaut once caused a crash, too.

Some More Chapter Thoughts, Cont

chapter 25:

When promoted, your refresher’s refresh is now known as…Blazeknife??

The Warrior can’t even equip Giantsfeller anymore.

mooore cracked walls that do nothing.

This cult…feels really inconsequential to everything.

The cult leader’s mouth isn’t right when he talks.

SEVERAL game breaking glitches that, thankfully, can be resolved with a resume chapter. Game can lock up when the darkness starts, and sometimes a unit will wander offscreen.

Seriously unsure what one would do if a player didn’t have enough Status Staves. Because of the constant unit push, you can’t just sit there.

Interlude: …Seriously? No Hoplon Guards? Again??? Also my first Pegasus Knight is not alive, but here they are.

Also, I’m looking over some supports… Some feel like you’re supposed to do them BEFORE the supposed time you’re supposed to do them, the A supports. Old portraits and dialogue…the fact they might die… You know?

27; I love the music here…
Also, if they get crit by the snipers in the bottom right, there’s really nothing you can do… Not even my Fili Shield Hermes survives a crit down there.

The Pegasi don’t move, so you’re screwed if you don’t have ballista access/fliers. Also, the Juggernaught with an Axe near the bottom…dissapears when he attacks? But he comes back after a few seconds.

…OH. THAT STRUCK WHERE IT HURT. OKAY, ZERO.

Chapter 28: …Hmm. So this guy’s the Minister. It’s sort of like with the boss of 26, like…who cares? We HAVE seen him and he’s definently sinister, but he’s just sort of…there.

My Ashura Vantaged against a Zombie, and…the game locked up, even on restart. Greeaaat. I tried it again on a different attempt, and it worked fine? Unsure of the trigger.

But it’s a good chapter! Though I apparently missed something. Prisma continues to be The Worst.

Chapter 29:
…I’m stuck here, I guess, because…why are my units turning green? Even when I have them allllll grouped up by the door, there’s still a few that get turned.
I mean, even if I rescue them…this is kind of dumb. Also, in general, this map is not well designed. It’s enemy spam 101.

Also, several units (Schwarze’s lovers, it seems) can be listed as Talks but can’t actually talk to him without the A Support.

Also, really? Putting those unmoving units in enemy bosses range? At the very least, I can use the Rescue staff… The subsequent times (except the final, because once again you can’t tell) are fine because they warn you and you know exactly who will be incapacitated.

Once you get past the first two bosses it becomes far more fair…and easier.

Endgame - WHTWPN

…Yup! I have no idea how to beat this. I am getting owned.
And supposedly you can do this in three turns? …How? Even my Scwarze gets doubled. Most of my units do single digit damage.

Question about Lowell, is he worth using so late in the game? and if so should he become a Halberdier or general? General seems pretty good with 3 range longbows but do they all get the can’t double thing? Should I go with Halberdier since he has decent speed even though he’ll be lance locked?

It’s not with Ashura’s it’s actually a common issues with the Hawkzerker anims. which is something I realized after my post. As for some reason the range animations for Hawkzerker just breaks outside of fe7.

Are you doing what the game tells you to do?

Last post on this thread for a while hopefully but:

Final thoughts

Endgame A is just so BRUTAL If you don’t use the best of the best units you will be screwed over. I ended up using Lewis and Sally in endgame which turned out to be big mistakes. In particular Sally. She was made to be so much Worse than Hall that it’s not even funny. She has a worse personal skill too. She is also in the most overused weapon type of magic. Where she is at the point of being outclassed by almost every magic unit. In fact she is the worst magic user. Noir has near perfect avail. Oliver is a staff bot. Mithra is a mounted staff bot. Jin is a combat god. Sei can Summon. The Shade has the most overpowered skill set in the game. Kayleth has the ability to actually be useful on lategame maps. etc. I like the idea of your choices mattering. But when one choice is detrimental to your ability in beating the game. It should be changed to be more balanced. My personal recommendation for this is to give Sally better offensive growths( buffing strength by about 10%, and Magic by I’d say around 20%) and changing her personal skill from Adept to something that would benefit her much more. I was thinking if you would change it to change it to Lightweight as it could actually benefit her as her speed is pretty mediocre as well often times having enough speed to double or not get doubled but then her 6 base con means she gets weighed down by the thunder tome Shwarze gives her. In fact her low Con makes it so that every tome except for fire weighs her down by a lot. Maybe buffing her speed growth to just above a coinflip could also help. Anyway my Sally rant is over. But back on to endgame A I like the idea but in execution it goes down very poorly. As often times since most of your army is split up into groups of two. If you don’t have very many healers the units may end up with low hp after 1 or two rounds of combat. and then can get picked off by the reinforcements. I dislike how I’m being actively punished for using Lewis and Sally in this map with them both being mediocre even after favoritsm so I am pretty much down two units on this map for playing how I wanted to. That should be changed. The player should not be punished for using the units they like for too long. I don’t have very many other comments. TlDR The Player should not be punished for using the units they want to use.

If you are, in fact, still accepting submissions for mugs of units. I’d be more than willing to help.

Well I picked Hall and I had to bench him on most late game maps because he was so underleveled so I don’t see how picking Sally would impact you all that much. Also for Endgame A you can just skip it and kill the boss on turn 1 easily.

Yes because your Hall was underleveled. He is really good once leveled up. Sally is plain trash
