FEE3 2020: 10/2 - 10/19/20

Hacking takes too much time for me to try and make a whole new hack again. And I feel all I would be able to create at this point would just be something using SGW’s gameplay mechanics with a new story. When you try to put every tool available in the community into a hack, it’s hard to think of how to make something fresh after. That’s not to say SGW uses everything, and I’ve thought about the potential for the laguz bar hack before for example, but at this point I’m happy with what I’ve accomplished, the reception SGW has gotten, and I should let other people have the chance to create their own hacks that improve upon mine.

You know you’re living in the golden age of FE romhacking when people are asking you “Hey, when are you going to start your third, full-length hack?” vs. “When are you going to finish that first hack?”

Day 1 alongside VQ and SE again, huh? Neat! :ok_hand: xD

Just realized that, by virtue of being added later than the 68 other hacks, my hack is the 69th one this year. Damn proud.

btw, if possible, can I be notified whenever Terror of the Forest will be officially added to the lineup and we’ll know which day it’ll appear? Thanks in advance!

@Arch will be updating the schedule and posting it with the changes. You should get plenty of notice for when Terror of the Forest will be shown.

No problem! I trust you guys, I just wanted to be sure not to miss out anything (I feel kinda sorry for breaking this perfectly equal day-by-day schedule but hey, at least this year’s FEE3 will be remembered for hosting exactly 69 projects)

Actually, it seems like another project got lost in the shuffle as well, along with a late submission of sorts; I think we’re at 71?

It’ll likely be around that yeah.

It’s sad that we missed funny number, but the more hacks the better!

Seconded, I’m pretty curious about this, and if it’s going to happen.

I’m concerned this has been asked 3 times already and no ones said anything about it yet… I too would like to know what’s happening in regards to this year’s FEE3 being a charity event as well.

it’s being addressed, we’re not going to post every hour giving a progress report

I can only assume that the charity aspect of the event will become more apparent right before the videos come out, as id imagine the two week long fire emblem event has something to do with that.

i’m not sure what you want to hear

“it’s happening”? you’ll get the details when we launch

Yes that is all I was hoping for lol. It was asked a few times here, and now we know it’s still being addressed. Thanks for the update.

The last staff post about it (on this thread at least) was on July 12th, soon after it was announced. Considering we’re a week away from the big event, and all we know right now is that “it’s happening,” I think it’s understandable why people were a bit worried.

It’s nice to hear it wasn’t abandoned. But it’d be even nicer to have some kinda reassurance that our hacks aren’t going to be associated with another “Letter from the FE Fan Game Community” kinda initiative, you know?

Nice shade there. Thanks for the two cents!

You knew it was part of the event when you signed up, and you know who’s running the event. So I’m not quite sure what the obsession is with having intricate details spelled out. We’re doing a charity drive as part of the event. That’s it. That’s the story.

The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) is an American nonprofit anti-sexual assault organization, the largest in the United States. RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline, as well as the Department of Defense (DoD) Safe Helpline, and carries out programs to prevent sexual assault, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice through victim services, public education, public policy, and consulting services.

All proceeds from the FEE3 fundraiser will go directly to RAINN. There is no “middle man” or anything like that. The fundraiser will be hosted through the organization’s website and promoted in the FEE3 introductory video with messages encouraging viewers’ support during the videos.
