I bless this channel with my power.
Please use your divinty to point people to the event when it starts
there is now a lot of money in many mouths
I don’t think anybody is mad at you for being busy and unable to answer questions. We’re all understanding of the stressful situation, and deeply appreciate your efforts. You guys let some folks send late video submission who forgot. That’s kind! You organized the charity event, and gave us a detailed rundown of it when asked. That’s also kind! We’ve all been thankful for this.
So far, everyone’s asked their questions cordially enough, but… Was there a need for the staff to make us feel like we’re “obsessive,” overly demanding, requiring hourly, detailed reports, because three people asked “what’s the charity about?” after months of silence? That’s just… mean. Nobody asked for this. I don’t think sniping back at me right before kindly answering what I was asking about was a great use of your limited time either, Arch. But we take these in stride, forget the pain and say “thank you” anyway.
All I’m saying is, please don’t lash out at users because the event is difficult to organize. This isn’t our fault. No one gave you attitude until peeps started getting mad at folks for asking.
We’re all thankful, we all want this to work, and it’s a labor of love for everybody. If you can’t answer a question, you can say you… can’t answer right now. That’s always kinder than making a stranger on the internet feel bad for asking. And boy, do we need to be kind to others in our community, more than ever.
I understand overall tension is a little high right now, but a small query/suggestion for the future:
Do these forums let you make wiki posts with specific user groups? Or is there any way users like Pandan could just directly edit the first post? (Eg. Limited forum mod privileges?) That might make it easier on everyone.
Speaking of everyone, thanks all for the hard work and putting together such an amazing event. I am really excited for it!
I think it’s a forum mod prilivege. I doubt there are select user wiki style posts, although that would be ideal.
Alternatively, there’s always linking to a spreadsheet with times instead so it can be updated by others who it is shared with, but you lose the excitement of seeing it right in the thread. Considering how lean the team is and that it’s basically been Arch bearing the brunt of the event for a decade, questions of scale have only started to come up recently. We’ve been having conversations around how to improve operations for next year, and I’ll likely make a post-mortem thread once it’s all said and done.
All in all it’s pretty minor - the event is launching on time ![]()
I was promised massive delays. my authentic fee3 experience has been ruined ![]()
Sorry Vesly, Pokemblem has been delayed to January 2021. The video will launch then, standalone.
See, this is my problem: the double-standard. It’s OK for you to throw attacks at me randomly (i.e. your snarky comments on the letter earlier in this thread) when you were indignantly demanding details about something we wanted to keep under wraps until the event started, but I’m always the bad guy. I’m not allowed to honest about what I think. I’m supposed to treat everyone with kid gloves, but it’s perfectly fine for people to be openly disrespectful towards me and inconsiderate of the massive effort of organizing this event annually? Yup.
It would be nice if people held themselves to the such a high standard. Maybe a good place to start would be to stop lashing out at me and the organizing team? Because it’s getting old.
Everyone

Sleep until FEE3 is released
Yeah, it is a double-standard. But it’s to be expected when in a moderating position. There’s no sense in escalating a conflict, so you swallow your pride and apologize for things you never did and carefully navigate through a web of hazards, brushing off insults hurled your way.
In a word: “diplomacy”. It’s often a thankless job, but it does work wonders. I would encourage you to consider your priorities. Do you want to be right on the internet (to some), or do you want fewer problems to deal with?
And of course, there are times when it’s an impossible task. Wherein being completely diplomatic allows others to maintain their rude behaviours, so you feel urged to try and remediate. I feel you there. Ah well.
The fact that we give our time and energy to support this community doesn’t give people the right to be openly antagonistic without being called out for it.
PSA for all the folks out there: the moderators are not your personal doormats.
I too will contribute in depriving Cam of his gacha funds
(also I meant to donate to this org months ago but I never did)
This goes for both sides here, Imo. There’s been a back-and-forth here for a while. I don’t think either side is willing to back down/have the other person have the final word, but it’d help if one of the two sides just gives up convincing the other, because I don’t see this heading anywhere.
It’s a forum after all, not replying to someone’s post doesn’t imply ceding the point as much as it would in meatspace.
If you really want to keep this specific discussion going, maybe have it in DMs?
Honestly, I just wanted to know how the charity was being handled since nobody mentioned it at all for awhile, and I was worried you guys forgot it or something. We just have questions and some may be heated, but they’re because we care about this and the alternative of silence is not desirable. I would much prefer a straight answer or a “consult this handy faq” over an answer hidden amongst language that makes people upset. If you think my actions are unwarranted and my tone rude, I do apologize, but I have an important point I want to make.
By the way, where is everyone donating at to make Cam delete wallet?
I mean, I don’t really know what to say. We announced it as part of the event. It didn’t seem like something that needed extraneous exposition. “We’re going to include a fundraiser as part of this year’s event.” OK, great. So let’s let the actual event happen. Instead we’ve got people accusing the organizing team of “forgetting about it” and demanding additional details. That’s the problem, it’s the automatic assumption that it isn’t being done or isn’t being done right. And I get that it’s because people care, and that’s great. But at the end of the day it’s like…we’re all on the same side here, so why are people always throwing stones and publicly challenging everything? At a certain point it just comes across as grandstanding. Sorry that we didn’t have an FAQ available that anticipated every single question someone might have. Foresight is a rare thing, I suppose.
It’s OK for you to throw attacks at me randomly (i.e. your snarky comments on the letter earlier in this thread)
The reference, the other day, to the Letter was that it generally was unpopular, and a lot of people who got involved in it wanted out. It seemed like a good example of a recent thing people were in on, but then wanted out of. “No one wants this FEE3, or the charity drive, to end the same way.” was the point. Moreover, the Letter thread pretty much ended on the charity drive idea, basically making the drive into a direct continuation. At least, to me, that was the connection.
This was not meant as a comment on your character or anything you did in the Letter thread. I was not replying to you, nor did I mention you in my post, and that’s why. If it seemed like it was, then I apologize. Extending my post back then seemed like it would belabor the point and make it seem like an actual attack.
Point is, No one is out to get you or using you as a doormat.
All of the posts initially asking about the charity were as nice as nice can be. As I said before, please stop framing the anxious and polite posters who kindly thanked the staff when eventually given answers as overly demanding and out to get you.
I’d encourage you do go back and read those posts making the assumption that those questions were genuine, and not vicious attacks on your character. No one asked for hourly reports. No one asked for intricate details. No one accused you of being a bad event organizer.
This could have been so easily defused with a “Yes, it’s still happening, the intro video will launch the fundraiser for the RAINN.” or “Yes, it’s still happening, but we want to keep the details under wraps a bit longer.” or again “I’m sorry, but we can’t give you more details right now.” without antagonizing those who asked their questions.
Doubling down on the “Everyone is enemy mine and I am the wronged one” isn’t helping. Move on, smile it off. FEE3 is happening, on time, and I’m sure everyone featured in it is hype about it. ![]()
Dude stop
No more of this derailing.
Liking my post doesn’t make my point any less relevant.
