Hello! Just a fun little side project I have been working on. It’s a rebalance of FE9 with stuff that I thought would be fun. So not going for super balance, but trying out new stuff to spice up a new playthrough of those who want to play a somewhat different version of FE9. Most units have been given skills, base stats, and growth rates that fit an archetype. EX. Gatrie being a more speedy armor knight, while Brom is more bulky tank. I have included a changelog of most changes, though I still yet to have time to put down the growths and stat changes. I’m still testing out the changes to see if I like them all, so things are subject to change. I would love some feedback as well of what works and what doesn’t work. Just have to use the delta patch onto a European version ISO of FE9. Hope you enjoy and have fun!

(Update as of 04/12/26: I haven’t been working on the new skills lately, since I’ve got a great momentum in the decompaltion process of FE9. So in a sense I’m still working on this, but a more long term way lol).

Haha for real xD What I would love to do is make it so you get that and Urvan after the base convo of Titania crying, as that would feel more natural. I just don’t know how to change that kind of stuff in Paragon yet. For now this is the easiest way to get these items available to the player. Could just think of it as the Daein army grabbing it from that night before attacking until Ike and the others liberate them back
Mayhaps give it to one of the bossess instead with a minor Ike boss diolauge edit to make mention of it. that way the drop is garanteed and makes its inclusion more interesting.
Maybe that could work with Urvan since it just kind of disappears from FE9 after Greil’s death? (Though I don’t know how to edit boss dialogue as of right now). Ragnell is a little harder since chapter 8 is the only logical time since Ike takes the sword around and then brings it back up later in the story. I could give it to the boss of chapter 8, just would be not as guaranteed for the player compared to one of the peons that charge at you in the defend chapter. I’ll sit and think about that though
I’ve been learning to script new skills I’m planning on converting the 17 unused skills into new useable skills, and do some slight buffs to the worst skills like Roar and Stun
Good morning Just wanted to give a quick update here. I’ve been slow working on new skills due to working on Decompiling Fire Emblem Path of Radiance. So in a way I’m still working on the project, just in a more long term way lol. If can get FE9 Decompiled, I’m hoping it will open a way to an eventual PC port. I would also like to do FE10 if things go well here. I’ve made a public GitHub for the project for those interested at looking at it. Thank you for your patience
I have made an edit to the first post that you most likely have already seen. But I’ve been working hard on decompiling FE9 in the hopes that it can lead to a PC port of FE9. So hopefully this work can not only help me, but help many others who want to do some cool new stuff for the Tellius games as I would like to do FE10 as well if FE9 Decompilation goes well.
