Hi! My name is len len and I’m making War of Heroes, a GBA remix of Mystery of the Emblem Book 2. It is not intended as a replacement for FE3 or FE12, just a love letter.
Features:
- All combat stats cap at 20 for every class, except HP, which caps at 52.
- Weapon weight is not reduced by any stat. Your current weapon’s weight will appear as a modifier next to your speed stat.
- The doubling threshold is 3 rather than 4.
- Units are not restricted to one trade action per turn.
- All player units, classes, and items have their exact combat stats from FE3.
- Most units have low movement, on par with the Valentia games. Maps are denser to account for this, to eliminate dead turns, and to fit more comfortably on the smaller GBA screen.
- Weapon ranks work as they do in GBA, but each unit has only one. Tomes and staves share a single rank, with access varying by class.
- Mounted units can no longer use multiple weapon types. Some use swords, some use lances, and some even use axes.
- Bows are now part of the weapon triangle, just like in Fates. Tomes are still their own thing.
- Thieves have Pick and cannot promote. They use Rogue sprites to reflect this.
- The GBA engine brings several conveniences, such as on-map health bars, enemy range display with Select, Casual Mode in the options menu, modern L button cycling, animation toggling with L, and animation speedup with R.
