tbh thotslayer shouldn’t be in there and i don’t think people would be too sad about a PR that renames it
The Skill System predates FEBuilder by a good bit and was never really meant to be used with that kind of tool so I’d imagine there’s a lot of historical cruft that would probably be good to clean up

Setting the offensive part to the side for a sec, what’s the goal here?
The FE8 Skill System is an open source project and you can just… go request the thing be removed, or remove it yourself and submit the change yourself.
But that doesn’t matter because you
- are using a pinned-version third-party distribution of the skill system
- already don’t want to change version, which would be where any removal would happen
- don’t want to use an updated FEBuilder, which is what you’d need considering the absent original author
And then there’s the
You clicked the button. I’m sympathetic to not knowing precisely what that entailed due to FEBuilder’s obfuscation of the skill system’s contents, but the skill system has also been a public thing for a decade.
FEBuilder’s patches are surprisingly transparent (skill system aside, that’s someone trying to square peg a round hole) compared to the rest of the things that the tool does. Apples-to-oranges as it may be, but FEBuilder is more than happy to waste your ROM space and lie to you about things.
What are we doing here?

huh, TIL what “thot” means. I thought it just meant “thought” and thotslayer was about destroying people’s dirty thoughts about nice thighs units, which was still kinda creepy so I wasn’t using the skill anyway. But yeah, that should probably go. Asm skillsys on febuilder probably isn’t ever being updated, though.
I do include “nice thighs” in the fe8srr, though. I don’t think that one is too problematic to include, but I wouldn’t be opposed to removing it. My rationale was that we’ll get all sorts of gender-swaps and class-swaps, so we can appreciate characters in whatever form they’ve decided to become. I intentionally don’t change gender pronouns to match the character’s vanilla gender despite being able to, just so that we’ll get a lot of clear gender swaps with the pronouns from the vanilla text, although this misses out on non-binary options. I’ve considered randomizing the pronouns between he/she/they etc. but it sounds like extra work so I haven’t bothered.
As much as I want this thread to go away (imagine having your cringe two-days-ago self immortalized in an FEU thread…), I’m kinda honored you replied, so I will say that, I have absolutely no problem with people consciously having nice thighs type content in their hack at all (with the obvious exceptions), that just wasn’t what I was going for with my hack and it kinda freaked me out lol.
