How odd. First the rightful skill now discipline. I was pretty sure there was a regular version of that skill somewhere. And yet it only has the plus version.

I think the reason why it was rid of is I think it might have been buggy but I forget ( I think that was one of few skills that wasn’t working the way it was supposed to) but don’t quote me on that I could much as well be mixing the skill up with something else

There are more than 254 skills in existence, but most projects can only use 254 skills simultaneously. I chose a variety of skills that I liked.

There is not a way to do this ingame other than setting your wexp to A rank with the debugger after it reaches S.

Lol I don’t even think the hack uses 254 skills only 222 ( and I think one skill on the list is like magic focused which could just be rid of since magic and strength are basically the same in this hack) i also think one of those skills is not working though I forget which one norkins made a list (test cunning)

Very few projects actively use all 254; I left some open for the time being.

Also I noticed he also noticed that there’s two skills with the same name they do two different things but they both have the same name those being death blow

Well i guess lt wlll have to do (was kinda hoping fe8 had a built-in stop weapon experience thing)
Annoying for sure but something that will have to be done in order to give every single unit double weapon experience without multiple s ranks on every weapon

Also I updated love the gfx but why is there a bunch of Boss portrait that are not used just laying in the game ( I assume they are being planted at some point being added just kind of weird that they’re just in the game could have not been added in the game until they used)

Because making the tables with their stats, classes, portraits, and inserting the text for them is a pain. There are over a thousand characters to play from and it’s never enough :sweat_smile:

I’m not in a rush to do more of that myself, but perhaps someone else will prepare them at some point.

Umm updated and accidentally pressed reload all when I was making sure that my settings were set up correctly



Once from before and ones from after I reloaded are supposed to change when you reload and you haven’t leveled up a unit so they have basically the same stats as before like its not much but why did it happen was it because I updated?just weird that the seed would do that would be weirdly treated differently because they’re definitely the same seed no doubt about that and I didn’t change the seed at all it’s the same seed in both settings just give me a totally different result for no apparent reason( the last one is after by the way)

Luckily there’s a reset button I thought I would share this just in case it’s a bug cuz it looks like a bug ( the past times I’ve updated something like this did not happen or it did but not to the extent this does which is kinda like a 180 totally different seed even though it’s the same number as before I wonder how hard it would be to link up with other seeds if that’s what’s happening with one seed especially as someone who likes to go to their previous seeds) could also like i said be a save issue as well

Yeah seems like that but the thing I also noticed is it doesn’t really feel like stats are being randomized are they even being randomized?because it seems like I’m getting very similar results every time I randomize I could be going crazy but like it’s not as varied as the older updates which had more variety I think it seems like now it’s just almost the same thing for every single character? ( like there’s tiny differences but it’s not too far off of just having the character vanilla stats) I could also just be having very bad luck with like 20 different seeds that I tried having similar results ( I don’t have it on 0% so i don’t know what I have it at the usual percentage I usually keep it at which is like 60% but even then it feels less random when I’m getting so many seeds with the same result) is there any reason why most of the stats are just mostly the same between seeds ( like I assumed you explained on your Discord why that is but I don’t have Discord so sorry if it is something you have to explain again )

I reduced how far from their original average stat value their highest stats can be.

There has been a ton of feature bloat in this project and I think it’s easy to accidentally spoil the game. I’d like to make it more accessible to newcomers.

Oh so you made it less than pokemblem?(also isn’t there a level stuff that you could do/ adjust and you could have also played on easy mode? Sacred Stones in and of itself is known as an easy game and considering that there’s not really any like hard skills or anything just really no way you should losea run especially on casual) I never personally thought it was that hard to play through the game especially for someone who was a newcomer to the series. I’ve beaten the game on 100% variance with a lot of randomization twice. I’ve also given this to a friend who hasn’t played the game and they actually got to the end. Most people that are playing randomizer though have already played through Sacred Stones ,pokemblem should be made the more friendly option not the randomizer itself ( most randomizer recommend that you’ve already played the game)

Like idk if there’s too much bloat you got settings for that to turn it off. That’s why its their. You don’t want skills turn it off, don’t want custom items turn it off.games is a little hard turn up bonus lv or cheat.like there’s option on the players end to make it easier for them I just don’t see why making less random makes sense for a randomizer. Like obviously make limits too hp so it can’t go to low makes sense but less range feels less random. Like hopefully you understand where i am coming from as a fan of randomizer like yune or pokemon randomizer less range leads to less different seeds.and less different seeds lead to less replayability. In a randomizer you should get characters who suck and some strong ones. That’s what the old one i felt like did perfect.

I’m sorry that you don’t like the update, and it has nothing to do with pokemblem. You’re free to play the older version if you prefer. The users that play this the most are used to the plethora of features, so I’m looking for feedback more from users who have only played this a little. I will continue to monitor stats in my own runs and it’s possible I will make changes in the future.

Also isn’t pokemblem full of feature(like alot of skill actually by count more than the Fire Emblem one, type match up ,Critical Hits ,free movement danger zone,randomizer features, area of effect,tm, CG, debugger, in game learnset menu, pokedex, flying, Equippable Accessories, exp cap,exp 0(I heard) Revival at Pokemon Center, fast travel,custom portaits,walking around over world,spawn, the magic stat, custom tileset,custom classes (152)) And despite all its features people still play that and still like it like just saying and if you want to talk about feature bloat Final Fantasy whirlwind, yune, pokemon the pit, the Final Fantasy one randomizer. If bloat is what you want there is stuff with more feature bloat. Like this is not to be mean or anything but just saying the facts
You also got (fire emblem 3 houses) also most the streams that play this I haven’t heard them argue about bloat

It’s not strictly about how many features a game has, it’s about how many choices are immediately presented to the player, and how the default options influence them. Studies have shown that having too many ice cream flavours as options leads to decision paralysis; I’m not removing features, but I want to ease the player in a little more, so I’m planning to lock some features and have them unlock through gameplay. I’ll also put in a cheat code for unlocking everything.

Oh so another thing that many people don’t Replay Games also look at yune or the Final Fantasy self randomizer ( look at all the choices they provide you with) like I am saying this is calm compared to those you know what I’ll take screenshots of those if you don’t believe me ( also play a majority of Pokemon hacks lol) plus it’s not like you have to go through them every single time you play if you save your configuration the first time you don’t have to go through it every single time you play locking stuff that players think should have been unlocked at the start like randomizer settings could in theory wave away players from playing a second play through it’s the main reason why trial Maps haven’t returned( a feature with characters locked behind playing the game over and over again) like the people that do will probably but there’s like a handful of people don’t Replay Games and unless they know this cheat code you’re locking them out of some settings especially new people to a franchise or streamers who are only streaming this once and not going to probably stream This again.you may as well lock normal and hard mode on that ground and like I said the handful of people I’ve watched stream this have not complained about bloat. Most of them new to the gba games

Also there’s a bunch of hacks with more bloat than this like Star Fox EX I think that’s what it’s called hetjas quest has like a lot of options. Smash bros remix.( and if we’re going with the assumption that people wouldn’t play it because of the ice cream thing then these games should not have people playing them) fire emblem heros has tons of example of bloat yet people are still playing it like if you want to curve it do what Pokemon hacks do and have the settings organized in categories and have it be able to switch Pages by using L or R.( don’t lock features behind completion of a game there’s a handful of people that won’t replay a game but if you organize them in categories then if someone wants to change only a few things then they just have to go to that category and change the stuff there) for example: have all of like the quality of life stuff like the danger bones time hits the music stuff in one section on one page. ( you can also have a buttonn(reload) and then someone wouldn’t have to scroll through all the pages I think a hack has already done something like this) because if you’re worried about people not being able to choose having them in disorganized as they are now is probably not the best way to do that organize them take time to organize each one and put them in categories that is what the Final Fantasy randomizer does and it does improve the experience
