waited so long for this, ever since i watched the youtube intro i was fkn hooked
hey king, ephraims twin azureblade doesnt activate on 2 range, it only activates in 1 range, is that intentional or something accidental ?
I dont think so Ather doesnt activate at 2 range usually and erika is mostly locked to 1 range so it might be 1 range due to Erika being 1 range locked and Ephraim using 2 range is kinda often but would be unfair to Erika if the 2 range Ephraim has access to can activate it.
i mean, its more about consistency in game mechanics than eiirka cANt 2 range cuz skill issuee haha
Just to clarify, both versions of twinblade are meant to only activate at 1 range. You wonāt see the skill icon on the battle forecast at 2 range which will let you know it wonāt trigger
Hey guys, im new here
Is it just me or does Marisa does not have any HP growth. Mine is 0
(I do not know how to share media here)
If the Hp symbol is green by the growth, that means her growth is 100, but the game canāt show triple digits. Like if a growth is 5, itāll just show 5, if itās 105, itāll show 05
are growths not shown on lunatic mode? cause i cant see them. Do growths differ from difficulty to difficulty?
I think you might want to consider doing what you did for steal where you can choose something to send to supply if your inventory is full for the forge staff as well. It took me quite a while to figure out that was why I could never select it from the staff menu - I thought it was just bugged.
No, Marisaās HP growth was 0% in earlier versions(was changed to 2% in recent versions). Itās because of her skill that gives avoid if at full hp, if she levels hp during an enemy phase, she suddenly would lose a lot of her avoid and most likely die.
There is code to make it so Level Ups restore HP.
So when you gain a paint of HP at max health, you stay at max health. I think this code would be a good addition, if it meant Marisa could have a normal HP growth.
Marisa was designed around this limitation and itās cool.
Her base hp is higher than normal, 30 HP at level 5, where Gerik joins at level 10, with 26-ish HP(canāt remember exact value). I personally prefer this work around, itās nice to have units with unique gimmicks like that. Giving her an actual HP growth means adjusting a bunch stats just to match how she plays currently. But she already works, so why bother?
I should stop myself before it becomes Effortposts Around Units We Like entry.
No, you should go full length effort post, in this thread or that one! ![]()
Iāve been having a good time with this hack, but after Chapter 14 or so, it suddenly stopped saving. Whenever I restart, the save files are all gone. This seems to be an issue with FE8 hacks in general, but I havenāt found a fix for it.
Iām on MGBA 0.10.4, if that helps any.
I have never received a report like this before, and am not able to reproduce it on my end with MGBA, VBA, or Delta. I think this may be related to the specific emulator version here, but Iām not sure what Iād be able to do
Your issue is that youāre using mGBA. Its an old unreliable emulator, and its known to cause bugs with ROM hacks.
You should instead use a 32bit version of VBA-M. Preferably v2.1.9, since itās the most stable version.
Hello, thanks for the game, im loving it ![]()
I was wondering if I could use Runeglaive that I forged from vigarde, currently I cannot use it
Is this a bit? MGBA was updated literally less than two weeks ago. Suggesting I use a fork of VBA, an emulator so faulty that MGBA has a toggle for its inaccuracies, is crazy.
Either way, the game started saving again almost immediately after I posted. I replaced the BIOS file I was using, that might have something to do with it, but Iām not sure.
Itās not a bit. Iāve always heard mGBA is bad. And in my experience, it is. VBA-M has just been so much more reliable. So itās what I recommend.
mGBA is currently the most accurate GBA emulator to hardware and the recommend emulator for playing GBA Fire Emblem hacks. (And likely the most common GBA emulator for PC used for hacks).
This isnāt to say VBA-M isnāt a good emulator, but mGBA is certainly reliable enough to save games.
mGBA started development in 2013 and VBA-M is built off an emulator that ceased development in 2004, so take that as you will.
Edit: Just saw what you said about the bios, kokoriko. Glad you got it fixed. Feel free to ignore the rest of this paragraph.
@kokoriko, I suggest trying an older version of mGBA (I used 0.10.3 with no problems) and seeing if the issue persists. If it only happens in version 0.10.4, stick to an older version of mGBA and, perhaps report the bug to the mGBA devs (if it hasnāt been reported already).
(Also, if you use a 64 bit operating system, youāll probably want to use the 64 bit versions of programs. 32 bit versions of emulators are recommended when using FEBuilder because FEBuilder itself is a 32 bit program, but if you just want to play games, the 64 bit versions of emulators are fine).
