[FE8] Life of Seiros [COMPLETE]

So isk if this is a docummented bug or not but I just finished Verse 15 by routing all the enemies and The ending cutscene played twice. It didnt softlock me or anything but i just figured it wasnt intended?

On a more pressing issue however…i cant seem to be able to recruit the verse XVI green units? It says that gerth can talk to them but the prompt nevcer comes up

This is documented, as long as it did not softlock you it’s not a big deal right now, but it will be fixed.

Gerth can only talk to them after they are already recruited. You can recruit them with Rhea.

Ah since it only said i could talk to the boss with her i thought i couldnt never mind

Just finished the hack was very fun story was great. My only complains are the shoddy hit rates causing me to reset due to no fault of my own, the automamton spam in the Epimenides chapters since they give single digit exp and that the prepromotes and some lategame units have awful growths and mediocre bases that make them really hard to use if you dont get luck on the level ups (Looking at you indech with 2 base luck and 10% growth with a luck% skill).

Other than that the only thing i have to say is Maurice is…way too easy of a final boss (Nemesis kinda too but i get why on his case), my Wilhelm wasn’t close to capping strenght and laubranda perfectly two rounded him. Top that with the fact that he is very succeptible to Myson’s Bohr and if i managed to beat him in one turn im sure i wont be the only one Anyways, here is my tierlist based on my experience on hard mode.

Thank you very much for playing! Glad you enjoyed the story and had fun with the hack!

There is a bit of story/gameplay interaction with Maurice being a bit weaker than one might expect - in the last chapter, he is wasting away from his pessimism and defeatism and his stats aren’t any larger than that of his first appearance in Verse XIV. He should still hit most units fairly hard and him being a moving boss can mess some people up depending on their position when he leaves his chambers. Gameplay wise, I am not a huge fan of overpowered boss units since it can suck a bit to go through a chapter and then be basically softlocked on an overpowered boss, so I avoided making boss characters too overpowered.

personally i think this is a pretty intentional balance design because re-move (aka the crest of indech) is busted as fuck (self-dance is never balanced lmao). it does make using indech annoying but you do at least get the hoplon guard on the same chapter as you get him

as for the unit himself he basically has near-exclusive access to the funny 50-use brave bow he joins with for a very long while, i think he can afford to not be too overpowered

I would say that but besides using him in chapter 8 to get the energy ring (where he ironically popped his crest twice) his bases are too low on hard mode to be good in the long run.

Also one thing i forgot to mention, the random stat enemies affecting threshold is not fun. I can go from one rounding a unit to not doubling or leaving then on one hp after having to reset because they got more bulk or higher speed through no fault of my own

Id say for Maurice that chapter is meant to be a rug pull on purpose. You finally got to him but at that point youre not exactly the “good guys” anymore and its supposed to be a slaughter you feel bad about. Thats why half the units are just palace staff who can barely fight, it definitely strikes the right narrative nerve in my opinion.
