I took a small Ru-bbatical this week to play Fire Emblem Awakening and I would like to talk about revisiting the game briefly and how this will impact the rework.
Playing this game again is genuinely painful on higher difficulties due to a simple thing: Enemy AI.
You can tell the AI was very copy pasted, and simply put on timers to all rush you, antequating an artificial difficulty with mindless amounts of enemies that overtake your squad. With each enemy taking at least 3~ rounds of combat from perhaps 4 characters, you can’t resonably sustain your army, lest you grind in DLC or just dump all EXP into Robin or Chrom; The only units that are “technically” required to use the whole game.
Lunatic and Luna+ are both literally focused on dumping EXP into Robin to stand a chance at attempting to train your other units.
Large bulk + Large amounts of enemies + AI rushing you is simply unfair and unreasonable, but having a limited supply of resources to dump into certain units you want to train also provides a bit of a challenge.
In the case of S4S Halbs, there’s certainly a real balance I need to adhere to provide meaningful gameplay without making them artificially hard.
Squads are important, and having more strategic enemy placements gives you more ways to think and approach different combat situations.
I do know that I’m going to make the Awakening difficulty jump real
Just discovered this last last week and dang you got me i got addicted to HoloMem now lol. Sad that some already graduated though (AmeSame, Fauna Mumei etc) Okakoro and the jp mems got me in chokehold lol. I love the myth 5 because of this and as a Fan of FE as well this is really a wonderful experience. Thanks for making a great game
@Hatsuru This is probably long overdue but I have found an issue with Shirakami/Kurokami’s transformation mechanic.
I was able to duplicate items by using the “List” function during battle preps to access Kurokami’s inventory, which is an exact clone of Shirakami’s inventory, and take her stuff. However, I wasn’t able to replicate this between Ch22-23 or most other maps; it was only replicated between the end of Ch21x-5 and Ch22, so it may be something to do with how those maps in particular are programmed.
Yea I think the method currently is still a bit rough
Essentially FBK’s switch command removes her character in game, and loads Kurokami’s ID and it essentially copies all the inventory slots from one to another. I didnt account for FBK/Kuro both appearing in preps, so i’ll either refine the current method or rework it
