[FE8] HoloEmblem: The Search for Seiso (42 Chapters) [v.1.8.2]

It syncs with with Wrathful Wall, so it’s very niche

Does this mean that the skill is effectively a debuff since wrathful wall increases crit against these units?

Is there a bug with Steal+ ability if you don’t use it? For some reason when I go to the convoy it doesn’t appear, being replaced with lancefaire

ok I must be missing something. it doesn’t let me download it when I click the link. could someone help me lol

That happens with skills in the convoy sometimes and it’s a bug

The link opens another page which is a google drive. If it’s not opening it, you might have something blocking it from opening

I normally leave my skill scrolls in a benched unit’s inventory cause they sometimes glitch and turn into other skills. Something similar (Very rarely) happens with equipped skills too. I’ve seen Ame’s lancebreaker and Noel’s Colossus turn into acrobat.

I got glacies with i left a skill in the convo (i see it like an interesting thing)

Mumei has got something “important” to say…

This is fucked up

It’s okay Bae and Irys are still here for her

I saw the announcement too… I’m shocked and saddened :frowning:

we’re moomin not

Decided to write up a bit about the units I used for 0 growths, since I used like (almost) everyone in the run.

Also ratings are included though this is more of a personal thing in the form of “how good were they in the 0 growths run” so ymmv honestly.

Early joiners (Ch1 - 9)

I honestly have no idea how many statboosters I gave her lol.
Ame is interesting since at first glance she looks like a shitty swordlock lord, and for the most part is actually a shitty swordlock lord, but several traits change that: her personal skill Investigation turns her Atk stat into super blood tide, and she gets Resolve which buffs her strength further which also then buffs Investigation. The way investigation works also means rally spectrum works on it so you effectively have x1.5 the value of it. it all adds up to Ame being unironically very good due to her supporting capabilities while being able to output huge damage - the better she supports the better she herself also performs.
she gets to use the Glock after her gaiden which sounds like a meme option, but is actually the strongest weapon she gets access to in addition to being 1-2 range and unbreakable. truly peak

Ame’s endgame build has Nihil and Deadeye. Deadeye or Hawkeye is more or less a necessity lategame in order to overcome enemies having huge avoid (from either them having a leadership advantage or having ridiculous speed), I went for Deadeye for the potential sleep proc. Deadeye doesn’t actually outclass Hawkeye since putting enemies to sleep instantly ends combat so you can’t just proc Deadeye and kill someone if they’re still alive, so mileage may vary here.

Rating: 9.5/10

Reine has pretty dogshit stats for most of the game, but gets +15 to every stat and capped HP at the end of her gaiden if you kill her impostor (which is pretty easy considering she stands at the exit area already). This stat boost is dependent on Reine’s stats, if they were at most 25 at the end of the gaiden then she gets +15, otherwise it’s +10. Reine also gets +15 strength and luck from A support with Anya, though it’s not really super relevant. (if you want to optimise strength then the A support should not be viewed until after the gaiden is over though)

despite having huge ass strength and speed, Reine has several issues impacting her lategame: despite being in Battle Sage, Reine can’t use light magic (nobody cares) and staves (actually important), and her 43 strength is not really a factor either due to starting at E base swords. Rushing Reine’s sword rank early to D is recommended so she can use the barrier blade and function as a good tank earlygame but otherwise she doesn’t have much benchmarks to meet afterwards outside of level 5 for rally speed. Reine is great for what she does: being an earlygame unit with high stats so she can capture and weaken stuff. She’s usable-ish late in growths if you give her blossom but just about anyone will become good with doubled growths so it’s… not that relevant? lol

Fun fact: the Battle Sage class is supposed to get White Pool at level 5, but Reine is coded to learn Rally Speed at that level. You can only learn 1 skill at level up and character levelup list takes precedence, so Reine can’t actually get White Pool. I would probably see her a bit more favourably if she could use White Pool but as it stands, welp.

Rating: 7/10

Fauna is undisputably the GOAT early on in terms of damage, especially if her PRF is picked. It’s a 1-2 range bow that ignores defense which is absolutely crucial in a run like this and with Amelia you can output some ridiculous damage especially if it crits. Fauna falls off on 0% pretty much after chapter 5 when you get Flare who’s an upgrade over her, but prior to that nothing really matches her damage output. Lily’s Poise is also a good personal to have just on maps like chapter 3 where you’re moving relatively close to each other and it can help in tanking enemies.

Rating: 8/10

Mumei has some decent niches early on with stealing and due to how learning skills by level up in skillsys work, she’s one of the 2 rogues in the game who actually get Steal+ and can do some funny yoink shenanigans in growths context. on 0% growths this is obviously impossible. Mumei also gets a PRF early on that lets her ignore defense, but the issue is this PRF is presented as an Arran/Samson choice with Fauna’s PRF, and in the spirit of most Arran/Samson choices in romhacks this is also comically unbalanced as fuck, and Mumei is at the losing end here. The issue is that unlike the bow getting 1 range, the sword does not have 2 range, and also the bow completely ignores the weapon triangle while the sword forces Mumei to be in melee range against axes and face WTD against lances. Getting the PRF bow also helps Fauna survive easier in chapter 1 so overall it’s just “why” for picking Society.

Mumei’s skills aren’t that great either fwiw, Forager is kind of an ass personal and the other notable thing she gets is like… Shade? which is cool, but then there’s also Bargain, which is kinda unnecessary unless you missed the silver card somehow.

Fun fact: Mumei went out of earlygame at like level 9 and wasn’t even planned to promote, I just decided to promote her for fun by letting her kill a rat in chapter 25 so she hit level 10 lol.

Rating: 4/10, also RIP her graduation announcement came while I was writing this post

she never got promoted RIP.
Personally I think there is not much to talk about Miko, she’s just your standard early healer that does earlygame healing things. The problem is her competition - Sora has the advantage of having authority stars which means she always contributes just by being on the battlefield, and Lamy comes more or less battle-ready with zero investment needed.

Miko can promote to Bishop for Slayer and on growths this is kind of a pretty good niche to have especially against monster spam. T3 Miko was brought up at some point in this thread which I feel was a questionable call, a sentiment I still maintain now. With only 2 master proofs available in the main campaign, there is a much better candidate for battle sage promotion, and Miko keeping slayer is actually kind of a better idea for maps like Ch24.

Rating: 6/10

the queen of earlygame. Suisei is on her own kind of an okay unit, but Halberdiers and paladins are among the first promoted enemies that the game throws at you, and Suisei having WTA over them is among one of the few things with an actual answer to them. Killer axes exist as early as chapter 4 and getting that first one is absolutely critical for Suisei to function - unpromoted units are capped at C weapon rank so killers are basically the best weapons you will be actually able to use. crit fishing is also where amelia’s investigation buff shines since it goes from 0.5x value to 1.5x lol

her job is basically wrecking shit until her stats mean she can’t really wreck shit anymore. On 0 growths, this works out to around the start of middlegame, but thankfully Marine is there to pick right up where Suisei left off with white pool as a personal to boot lmfao. shoutouts to also having like 17 base con which lets suisei capture almost anything early on, so just like Ame, investing into her is a good payoff.

Fun fact: Suisei gets a PRF that’s a souped up Killer Axe from supporting with Miko, but the opportunity cost is missing out on a much more broken option…

Rating: 8/10

bard train bard train

Bae is actually a pretty alright combat unit on her own rights but dancer is a whole other level altogether and absolutely worth giving up her long-term stats for. Dancer is the result of supporting Suisei with Bae instead, and if you rush it you can get it like as early as chapter 5 which makes the chapter a lot easier.

Rating: 10/10 dancer lol

i disabled her guaranteed growths in speed and defenses which made her actually killable late on. i was debating between whether to enable 100 growths for her or not but decided against it for a challenge.
on a growths context polka will end up with huge speed and bulk which means she can be yeeted into things as a meatshield. steal+ is also a consideration normally - since i opted against giving polka her speed i also decided not to get steal+ onto her. it is absolutely a hilarious option though to give the supply van something to do.

Rating: its the supply she is an auto-deploy 99% of the time lol

standard-ish shitty trainee project. she’s hilarious on growths if trained (iirc she gets harrier if you pick mahou girl as her T1) but since this is 0% fucking oops lol
The nice part is she has seal speed which kinda helps sometimes but not a big deal.

Rating: 4/10

as the description says.

Rating: 10/10 did nothing wrong warukunai yo ne

she ate a body ring for chapter 18 because i forgot to deploy lui and i needed someone who has 18 aid.

noel is a pretty goated tank and gets a pretty cool and free T3 promotion that lets her be bait for ranged attacks for free. this promotion happens at the end of her gaiden chapter and also comes with a massive stat buff before the promotion if Noel is at most level 10 in whichever class she’s in. This presents an interesting challenge on 0% where you can use her but she can’t really do too much of the work or she misses out on a big increase in stats (+10 HP spd luck and +5 str skl). Just an idea of what her full promotion is…

also auth star is nice

Rating: 8/10

Flare has the funny benefit of being able to promote multiple times due to her A support with Noel granting a class change/promotion to either General or Gunner, so you can promote Flare to T2 first then get the promotion to General. Just like the previous Arran/Samson choice with Fauna and Mumei’s PRFs, General is like strictly better lol since it also gives Flare a fucking mobile ballista, and can promote to Master Knight. I didn’t actually have to do this promotion and wasn’t really planning on it, but after several mishaps with that specific master proof I ended up doing the promotion anyway.

Flare is pretty nice to have as a strong bow user is very appreciated. There’s a good amount of strong bows throughout the game (Longbows, Killer Bows, Brave Bows and Fanatic Bows all see play) and there really isn’t any other decent bow user available who joins after Flare, save for Roboco who literally does not want to use anything that isn’t a rifle lategame, effectively meaning Flare has a monopoly over the strong bows late on.

Rating: 9/10

this is probably not the first time people have seen this by now, yes these stats are real, yes this is not a joke. Luna is actually just for the most part just a pretty meh healer, but upon promotion she learns Corona which is an absolutely busted skill that lets her completely ignore the resistance stat with anything she uses. Luna is a unit who leverages her terrible bulk with her personal Shade skill that lets her sit safely in range of enemies, but this can be abused by giving her the one statbooster that nobody really wants just because it reduces bulk: the Asacoco. this suddenly turns Luna from a shitty healer to a huge ass holy nuke bomb with high movement and gets ignored by AI most of the time anyway, so losing bulk doesn’t matter if you already die to a breeze and enemies ignore you because of your personal lol. the downside of the asacoco is you lose HP from using it, but promoted Luna just has enough HP to be able to take 2 of them safely (so you end up with the funny 1 HP lol)

The fun part about this is because Luna has high single damage potential but can’t double with basically no speed, this issue also gets solved by the existence of a Double Lion scroll from Kiara/Ina A support. This turns Luna from “I can 2RKO everything in the game” to now “I can ORKO everything in the game”, especially with the multitude of ways you can buff attack lol.

Fwiw mage knight vs valk are kind of similar, i decided to go Valkyrie but you can probably get similar results with mage knight, only thing that really changes are the tomes you use. Her high mag late on because of the asacoco doping also meant I could use her as a staffer which is very cool.

Of note is I made a mistake with her build and it should have been Nihil over Slayer (after chapter 24), I simply forgot that I actually needed nihil for the bossfights lol.

Rating: 9/10, absolute cinema

Choco is one of those units that would be utterly fucking busted if you put her in anything that isn’t S4S imo. Consider that for a unit that joins in Chapter 5, she has 1) flight, 2) 19 strength and 18 defense, 3) an ability that restores her HP after she kills something and 4) a skill that passively buffs damage of nearby allies. Choco was used for more or less most of the game since the point where her stats are probably not really good enough anymore just so happens to be the point where you start landing in monster hell… and then you consider Succubus has Slayer as a class skill and suddenly she is so fucking back.

I think overall she’s a great unit to use and probably the real jagen, much better than Reine for sure. The fact is she got the most kills in the game outside of Amelia and was probably deployed for the most amount of chapters too (other than Amelia). She’s just more or less the glue that helped to keep the run going for as long as it did.

Rating: 9.5/10

Honestly she was pretty dog. I think she could be okay but her speed being kinda low for a mount makes her annoying to use. She is alright filler on maps where you can afford to bring her but not so worth otherwise. Shoutouts to her 12 AS making her gaiden actual hell because she kept fucking dying to random shit that has 16/17 AS.

Rating: 3/10

Actually quite alright other than her low-ish speed, but for some reason her gaiden is much easier than Subaru’s was despite it being later in the game lol. Again more or less a filler unit but her flight does have some occasional use.

Rating: 4/10

has like one of the best personals in the game but unfortunately not the stats to make use of it. crossbow is actually pretty nice and surprisingly she could use the fanatic bow on her gaiden which is very helpful for the +5 speed it carries (also just so happens to have high enough res too to tank monks). Another filler but at least not as frustrating to use.

Rating: 4/10

has use as a bulky unit with good magic damage for a while. this is a surprisingly contested niche but risu is ok in this aspect. promoted for her gaiden but i got the summon bug so she couldnt do shit lol.

Rating: 4/10

Roboco is a unit that often gets slept on, which is understandable because her stats are indeed not really very eye-catching. But did you know Roboco can actually OHKO literally every enemy in endgame with just those base stats, including the final boss?

Yeah, this was in fact the original plan for the final boss, before I came across the funny hydrogen bomb baby build and suddenly Roboco’s time in the spotlight was gone.

Still, this is kind of an interesting unit to discuss, because her viability is more or less dependent on one and only one thing: her rifle’s durability. She is undoubtedly great up until the point where her rifle is low on uses. For this 0% growths run it just happened to be the end of marine’s ship fest so Roboco was benched until her gaiden. This gaiden is chock full of rifles for Roboco to capture and restock on until the end of the game, and from then on she is back and here to stay.

Not much to talk about, she shoots and kills things and that’s it. The skill build I have on her is mainly a pretty generic one, Nihil can go over Death Blow or Bowfaire if you want to use her for killing Haachama’s phases since you need to nullify Vantage+ and Foresight.

Rating: 9/10

her only purpose in life is 3 authority stars.

a bishop promotion does let her contribute on some monster spam maps where you can afford the deploy slots though, such as ch15, 17 and 24, so she’s not fully deadweight per se, plus the authority stars is a good enough buff passively. overall the authority stars already makes her a good deploy option on those maps with massive deployment slots, and even if she mostly does nothing she can still technically use heal staves so… yeah

Rating: 5/10

Azki has a funny gimmick where she joins as a dancer, but promotes on the map after she gets a level up. This means that her dancing technically has a shelf life, so carefully managing her usage is pretty critical. On this run I used her dancing on chapter 10 and her gaiden chapter (same one as Roboco), so I could only dance a maximum of 9 times before the gaiden (and all of it on chapter 10 pretty much). This is where getting dancer Bae comes in as she can fulfill the role of the 2nd dancer instead, allowing me to afford benching Azki on chapter 9 or 15 etc without too much fuss.

Rating: temporary dancer, you use her until she can’t.

More or less a strict upgrade over Miko, especially since she gets Powerstaff and Miko doesn’t. Lamy comes at a very good time because we’re desperate for good combat units for chapter 10, and she comes just before with 14 magic 15 speed upon promotion making her unironically one of our best dps. beyond that map she also sees constant deploy over midgame replacing Miko as healer, and slayer helps her yeet monsters as well. She also carries her gaiden map by being able to tank monks.

Rating: 8/10

her stats are kind of mediocre-ish but her main selling point is unironically having 18 aid. This lets her capture drowneds for their staves and lets her basically Do Something in lategame. she also has pretty chonky ass defense for her join time and this lets her carry chapter 10 pretty hard. she was not used much later on and was kind of a pain to keep alive on her gaiden. Thank fuck for rescue staves.

Rating: 5/10

Laplus technically joins in chapter 10 but she was only deployed to block staircases on that map, and isn’t used until her promotion event all the way near the end of the game. because her stats are utter dogshit for most of the game on 0% I just more or less treated her as if she doesn’t exist. A Laplus writeup will be in the endgame join section as her recruitment is more or less effectively ch25 in 0% growths lmao.

Midgame joiners (Ch11 - 17x)

Pekora is very notable for being the only unit in the game with access to Re-move, which she has as her personal (albeit slightly nerfed to do 5 dmg per proc). This lets her do things that nobody else can including near infinite actions per turn. This was abused occasionally on maps like chapter 15 and 17, but I try to be reasonable-ish about the usage of it. That said, Pekora also comes with 2 auth stars and unironically also has very good combat parameters so she would have seen regular usage even without re-move lol.

Rating: 9.5/10

Rushia gets to summon while unpromoted, and she can promote directly into Necromancer (a T3 class). I honestly forgot why I promoted her to Druid instead and looking back I think this was likely a mistake, though with fairly minor consequences tbqh. The cool part is that with Rally Resistance + Spectrum, she was actually a pretty good combat unit on Chapter 13 due to the extra damage from Glacies. She also serves as a pretty cool emergency tank with Great Shield as a passive. Honestly quite alright and served her job as filler.

Rating: 6/10

Her main draw is having 1 auth star really, though she does have pretty acceptable combat that makes her occasionally useful. Keep Up is also a nice option to help maintain her movement. Kinda okay-ish filler.

Rating: 6/10

Zeta is an interesting case because she’s effectively two characters combined into one: she leaves your party after chapter 15 but comes back during gaiden spam just around the start of endgame. She also gets two sets of stat boosts, one when she returns and one when she beats her impostor in the hololive indo gaiden so she has pretty okay combat with no investment. The main issue though is she has no auth stars so ultimately she ends up way down on deployment priority. I don’t think I actually deployed her in endgame actually so welp.

My big gripe with her is she’d be absolutely god-tier to have for chapter 20 against the funny rogues that have watchful since she also has it (so she cant have her things stolen), but that falls within the stretch when she’s not in the party smh.

fun fact: despite not physically having the steal skill, Zeta can still use steal. This is because what she is actually using is what I would term as vanilla GBAFE steal, as this property is directly assigned to the rogue class. the main difference between this and skillsystem steal is that you cannot steal with a full inventory, the option just straight up does not appear.

Rating: 5/10

ok firstly what the fuck and secondly what. the. fuck. this unit’s entire existence is basically a walking cheat code. to put this in perspective she joins with 22 strength and 26 speed at BASE, and if she dies she revives and gets +20 hp and +5 to every stat, so she basically has 27 strength and 31 speed. and if that wasn’t enough she has rally fucking spectrum which is +7 to every single stat. practically her only downside is she can’t benefit from her own fucking rallies. Kiara is a combat + support god from start to finish and frankly probably one of the most broken units in existence ever. this THING without reincarnation is already like FE6 Perceval level of strong, it’s almost unfair lol.

Naturally she basically sees deployment in every map for like the rest of the game because even when her combat falls off (spoiler alert it kind of doesn’t), rally spectrum is still like one of the best things she can do lol.

Rating: 9.5/10

her niche of reflecting damage would be fun if i actually needed it. unfortunately 4 movement is not fun. the fact that she joins like at the same time as the best midgame character available really kinda sucks

Rating: 1/10

i removed aptitude.

she gets a free promotion to master knight if she hit level 10 in her gaiden but i could not be fucked to use her. fwiw you also get a stat boost if she is in either recruit general or great knight but again this implies having to use her.

Rating: 1/10

she was used for like her gaiden and more or less never again. also contributed to cave PTSD.

Rating: 3/10

When your existence is just White Pool + Thighs. and really that’s kinda all she needs. Thighdeology gives her some weird applications (rescue someone near someone with nice thighs and you can re-move her and drop that person elsewhere in the same turn), which can be quite neat to have. More or less upgraded Suisei for stats, which makes her pretty key to have alongside white pool.

Rating: 7/10

another one of those units who was just used in starting chapter and gaiden and never again. unfortunately for Kobo she just doesn’t really stand out at base while Ina joins at the end of the chapter with significantly better stats. She might be a bit more useful if Ina was skipped in chapter 15 but eh.

Rating: 3/10

Her prf and skills lets her be a very solid tank with no investment needed which lets her see some deployment for a few chapters. Overall an alright pick.

Rating: 5/10

kind of a decent filler unit with good speed, steal, and blood tide. she also has reposition and swap, and a personal that acts like canto when those are used, which makes her pretty good to have as a deploy to adjust positions. Her only downside is she’s not Pekora.

Rating: 6/10

she just outclasses Kobo so hard it’s actually funny. Her PRF is crazy strong for the point of the game you get it and she has very good base bulk to put. She’s basically Gura but uses magic which is nice.

Rating: 5/10

Very strong combat due to the combination of charge and outrider along with ridiculous ass movement. her promoted class is also basically just assassin. you’re supposed to pick between her promotion and her upgraded weapon but turns out you can get both lol.

fun fact: just like Zeta, Korone’s unique classes also have vanilla GBAFE steal property. this was used to steal the finger on her gaiden.

Rating: 9/10

“mom can we have zeta”
“we have zeta at home honey”
zeta at home:

in all fairness she kinda has some utility with steal+ but doesn’t really justify a deploy slot often enough, which is unfortunate.

Rating: 2/10

on paper she’s supposed to be good, she has decent combat parameters, a PRF sword that has monster effectiveness (why does it give slayer tho instead of just being monster effective…?) and is available right in the middle of monster spam. for some reason i just didn’t get much usage out of her. i think she’s an okay use unit though?

Rating: 5/10 (I think?)

More or less a prepromote Sage that can’t go T3. She is still an okay deploy due to authority stars and having some solid bulk at base. The staffer of choice along with Lamy early on.

Rating: 6/10

she gets double lion at level 15 which should on paper synergise well with desperation. unfortunately i forgot to deploy her in chapter 19 to kill eggs and she never got to gain enough exp afterwards. also has good filler deploy utility due to authority stars.

her alt mode has pretty good bulk and slayer which actually carried chapter 20 so that’s cool.

Rating: 6/10

The main thing she has is access to staves and a 12 use PRF Hammerne. Unfortunately with Kiara’s existence, Kaela was probably never really cut out for combat. I think she can probably be used as an alternative to Mio, but Mio is much bulkier and contributes authority stars so Kaela also ends up finding hard for deployment reasons. Doesn’t help that hammerne is buyable lategame too…

Rating: 3/10

haha sword

unironically very good unit though, Keris has monster effectiveness and she joins in the middle of monster spam arc. more or less used as combat until endgame.

Downside is despite what it says ingame, Anya can’t actually get blood tide due to skillsys fuckery.

Rating: 7/10

Lategame joiners (Ch18 - 21x spam)

the nice thing is that she has instant S light and dark, and isn’t weak to bows despite flying. unfortunately for some reason she has unmounted aid/con formula so she kinda sucks for ferrying stuff. also no canto lol. Seiso’s Light is very good though

Rating: 7/10

Irys minus the S light at base and authority star in exchange for Slayer. Unfortunately we are a bit constrained on deployment slots by now. She is ok filler but not much else to say other than that.

Rating: 4/10

her main usage is on academy in order to open up the shortcut to the jail cell asap, other than that not really too much usage as her stats are overall not super good or anything. at least the dragonstone has monster effectiveness.

Rating: 3/10

speed speed speed speed speed. iroha is fairly broken-ish creator bias moment with the highest base speed in the game, giving her a decent amount of utility just by being fast. i gave her steal+ because of that as a result. despite her low con, this wasn’t an issue: i actually needed steal+ just to steal staves like entrap, so not being able to steal a lot of weapons wasn’t a concern (I had way too many anyway)

Iroha has a secret promotion from supporting with laplus but that involves deploying laplus, something which i was not very willing to do lol. She is good enough in her base class anyway.

Downside is she procs astra way too often so I had to keep repairing her weapons smh.

Rating: 7/10

this unit makes me want to tear my hair out.

koyori joins with for some bizarre reason two tomes that both weigh her down by 2 speed, making her basically doubled by maids near her starting area. even after keeping her alive she basically contributes net zero: i don’t need more healing items, she has no auth stars, and her staff rank is not good enough for warp/entrap + i get The warper soon enough. this is the one unit that makes me go “uhhh wtf why?” like i can reasonably come up with some weird use for even stuff like okayu but koyori is just “why am i ever touching this unit”

Rating: 1/10

Authority stars bot with pretty decent-ish bases. I tried cooking a bit with her skill build which was on paper not too terrible (69% chance to proc Deadeye at low HP), but I forgot that her personal is Relief lmao. Still it helps that she is one of the few things available with good speed and 21 magic actually lets her do funny damage with magic swords (factoring in Vanity class skill). Pity maids don’t have staves here.

Rating: 6/10

AMONG US

despite the meme she is actually not that good, Sus does pretty good damage but not ignoring defense sucks. Also pretty bad speed. She’s usable filler on gaiden and then benched afterwards.

Rating: 4/10

Endgame joiners (Ch22 - end)

when i said there is a much better candidate for battle sage promotion, Sana is who I was referring to. You get a S rank staffer with 31 magic at base along with decent bulk too as well as reposition. Keeping her in sage is kind of pointless to begin with, but promoting her lets her be able to warp/entrap for free and she can learn white pool!!! not super important by this point but kinda neat.

I think overall the best part is you can basically get this with very much minimal investment needed because all she really needs are magic rings and you get quite the plethora of those throughout the game already. 49 magic is after i fed her 6 magic rings from 31, you need mostly a huge entrap for chapter 24 (there’s an entrap master knight on the other side of the map you want to get rid of asap or he will entrap your stuff into enemies) and that’s about it. warp has some nice applications though like skipping through first 2 phases of academy, but I wanted to get the time jump scroll from killing Kronii so i chilled.

Rating: 9/10

i originally planned on promoting Towa but her A staves became D after promotion roflmao. outside of that she is kind of like the ultimate staffbot with powerstaff and capped magic after 1 asacoco (like Luna, the bulk downside doesnt really matter for her, mostly because she’s not in range of enemies most of the time to begin with). powerstaff is just super good anyway lol and unlike Lamy, Towa comes at a point where we actually have the broken staves for her to spam.

Did you know Entrap sells for only 600 gold in the chapter 17 secret shop with the silver card? Yeah get as many of these fuckers as you can. Lamy/Mio were spamming these before Sana and Towa. Good stuff. Everybody gangsta until you use one entrap to entrap those pesky drowneds with entraps and steal from them so you get a net extra usage of entrap. Get like 4-5 entraps and with some decent enough planning on how to use them you’ll basically never run out.

Rating: 9/10

me when i tell people who ask me to promote mel that she is never actually a serious contender for promotion lol

honestly despite looking like she has some insane bases, we already have very good killbots of our own, and we don’t really need mages with big stats at this point. what we kind of need are good staffers and unfortunately this is where the unit with only C staff bases joining like 6 chapters before the end of the game is really bad in?? would be cool if promotion helps her staff rank but it does not lol.

she is alright filler though due to white pool, i’ll give her that at least

Rating: 4/10

she has big stats, big bulk, and the authority stars which makes her an auto-deploy for the rest of the game.

for some bizarre reason, i believe savage blow + galeforce makes a weird effect where if she kills something while adjacent to allies who has moved already, she can actually refresh them, making her a pseudo-dancer.

Overall you just use her lol, because worst case scenario she still has authority stars.

Rating: 9/10

Laplus exists early in the game as a shitty trainee with single digit stats in everything. After her gaiden she promotes into some funny monster with S rank dark and staves and huge magic. Unfortunately for whatever reason she does not gain speed so you have a unit with huge stats and 3 base speed lmao. Despite this, 43 magic and staves obviously means she’s a good staffer for free, and has her authority star too so that’s what she was pretty much used for. Unfortunately she does not have Powerstaff. More or less just sana 2.0 but Sana does have some acceptable combat and white pool so I’d rate her just below.

Gotoh.exe, you obviously use her (like she has 20 authority stars and forced deploy so fucking lol). That said, because I ended up with some broken ass killbots in my run, her main usage was restricted to killing the secret boss in 25xx and then holding off the infinite master knight reinforcements in ch26. She’d be great on the final map but that’s a warpskip so yeah no.

Chapter notes

4 - The NPC armorknight beside the ballista in the top of the map is actually a massive bro. He aggros the ranger reinforcements that appear near the end of the chapter, making it so they’re basically irrelevant.

9 - I went right towards Lamy first with my entire army. Interestingly, there is supposed to be a thief to loot chests, but the closest thing he sees is the door to Laplus’ room which is blocked by two enemy armors so he just sits right in front of the door that he can’t reach. The armors’ AI make them stationary so they will never move either. It’s funny because they talk about how they can’t open the door while blocking the one guy who could’ve opened it for them lmao

15 - I had Pekora solo the right ship at the start, Amelia+Roboco+some other fillers do the left, then everyone went south. You do need spare a few guys to kill Ina on the bottom right near the end, as well as recruit Chloe and Gura in the bottom left. Amelia going left helps since she can do the Gura recruitment.

18 - A 24 magic entrapper is required to entrap Irys early and kill her to remove her auth stars. There is a spot on the top bridge where you can just barely reach her. This is achievable with Rally Spectrum + Magic Ring Lamy. Rest of the chapter is basically free once Irys is removed from play.

21 - went right because going top is pretty tricky with the entrap drowned there (I want his entrap) and dogs chasing after you. Dogs are scary because they pierce defense. Dracozombie is actually easier to deal with since Noel takes 0 damage at range lol

23 - I needed Roboco impale here to kill Kronii. Because killing Kronii spawns clones of her, I need to do it on the turn where I seize, so I had Aqua do crowd control with Sleep Sword to keep Kronii asleep. The fun part is because of Kronii’s 100% great shield proc she can’t actually die to Aqua poking her with the sleep sword lmao

24 - Towa’s big day, with 40 magic from one Asacoco she can entrap Calliope into one of the rooms near the stairs, then with Powerstaff she can immediately run away via the stairs to render Calliope irrelevant until you kill the boss.

26 - I entrapped the Purge bishop and the first boss with dynamare and killed them immediately, removing most of the threat from going right. Kronii and Calliope handled the bottom enemies that spawn with Other Amelia, and then afterwards Kronii was left to deal with the master knight reinforcements. The map was then cleared by just going clockwise and then entrapping Haachama/Haato when they spawn.

27 - Warpskip, Towa’s magic is enough to reach the boss

Absolute cinema, congrats and thanks for playing

thank you! i will check and see.

ok it is saying it could not import the file due to it being invalid.

Art you talking about importing into an emulator? The file you download isn’t a game, but a patch you apply to a valid rom.
