[FE8 Hack] Mercenary Moon (Currently in pre development)

In the continent of Stariel, 7 nations lived in peaceful economic rivalry. But on the new millennia on 1000, something changed. No one could put their finger on what specifically happened. Among the small changes, it lead to dominoes falling to the northern nations of Gradon and {} came to a bloody war. The two will stop at nothing to finally tear eachother down after years of rivalry. But a plot has come to the surface that will change the fate of the continent forever

You and your brother were lords of some land in the nation of Bucaque, controlling some good farming land. But when the night of the new millennia came, something unpredictable happened. Monsters told of only in the Book of The Gone Days appeared., Stariel’s holy book of the rising of civilization and a great war of the gods. Your brother sacrificed his life to save you from the horde. Ever since, you’ve been plotting to make a team to figure out the mystery of this. Rumors across Stariel tell of strange phenomena, and you’ll have to travel a long road and a web of mysteries across the continent. You’ll find friends and allies who are intrigued in the mystery or owe their favor to you that will fight by your side. Navigating this mystery along with the war will be no easy feat, but you’ll soon find that the more the two situations get tangled, the wilder and more devastating the truth of what happened in the new millennia.

This hack will have a whole map to explore, where you can choose your own path across the continent and across the seas to find treasure, recruits, and uncover the mystery of the world. You’ll have to choose how and where your party marches to avoid fights in the war, and sooner or later guide different parties to defeat other armies. There are 20 trainee classes, 40 base classes, and 67 promoted classes. There’ll be a ton of side quests and extra content to do, which you won’t be able to just skip by - your party needs the equipment and experience if they want any chance of surviving the main chapters. This is more than an adventure - this is an epic.

This sounds like a huge task- Frankly, good luck. If/when you finish it, though, this’ll be sick.
Question- You said ‘you’ when referring to the protag. Does this mean you’ve not come up with a suitable name, or that the player chooses the protag’s name as a avatar character?

My headcanon alternate title is ‘Stariel 1000’ because thracia 776 but different location/year and also ‘stariel 1000’ specifically sounds like a vintage radio heh

This seems like a lot.

yeah when I say “you” I mean you make your own character, you customize the avatar, base stats, class, and growths

This is too much for a single campaign. I’m not sure there are even patches that would allow you to have this many classes. For reference, FE8 has around 50 playable classes + 25 Enemy/NPC exclussive classes. If you intend for all these classes to be playable, depending on how promotion works, you’re looking at a minimum of 67 playable units if you want at least one representative of each class. It seems like you want this to be a long hack with party splits, but you don’t need this many unique classes to make your units feel different from each other.

Also, this reads like you prompted an LLM to figure out core details of your campaign. I would highly recommend you don’t ask one questions about how your hack should be designed. LLMs are not equipped with the mechanical knowledge of Fire Emblem or rom hacking that other people on this forum have, and will offer bad advice if you prompt one to help you create an FE hack.

Yeah I suspected I had too many classes, and I’m more than ready to scrap some. What does LLM stand for, I’m kinda new here

LLM stands for large language model, so an AI model like ChatGPT.

There are patches that allow more than three trainees. You can have up to 254 unique classes in one game

ExModularSave has 200 supply, up to 57 saved characters per patch, 20 npcs and 50 enemies

its definitely possible but idk how balancing that would work
