[FE8] Fire Emblem: Sacred Houses Awakening (FE8 with Awakening and Three Houses characters with other changes)

Fire Emblem: Sacred Houses Awakening is a kind of PME (Pick My Edits) romhack of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. At first I only wanted to do a “Can you beat FETSS with the FETH lords?” but I changed my mind and added other FETH characters (with the available portraits in the FE-Repo) and also Awakening characters.

The hack is made for fun, don’t care if something makes the game more easy (and still there some changes that make it more challenging), play the way you want and have fun. This is for people who like to replay FETSS but with a twist and using characters from another game.

I plan to do two more versions, but I still need to test a bit more the main one:

  • Extra experience (so you can switch more your characters for different strategies and make the game more easy for you).
  • Fun Version

The game includes some gameplay changes:

  • Changes in some weapons (the Relic Weapons are there).
  • Unlock extra units by playing (some are a bit overpowered, use them if you want).
  • Growth rates changed to fit the characters and, in the case of FETH characters, I chosed one of their usual final class to change the growths in FETSS.
  • From the main characters the only one that has their stats changed is Edelgard, since she uses axes insted of swords it fits better for her having Hector stats instead of Erika stats.
  • Some bows have more range.
  • Some classes were changed or at least reskinned.
  • The weapon triangle is doubled in accuracy and tripled in damage. Because of this, swords designed to fight against lance units (knights or wyverns) got +30 of accuracy. Some green units that can be recruitable were given reaver weapons to avoid them be killed, so they can defend themselves. Other not recruitabled green units were buffed.
  • Promotion branches were changed in some classes.
  • Gain support points by being near instead of adjacent.
  • Added a buyable Flamestone to continue using the manakete (not as effective as the Dragonstone).
  • The behaviour of some enemies change.
  • If you find yourself lacking money, you can buy free weapons from the preparation shop that are joke weapons with no extra damage, but it can be useful for not softblocking yourself or against weak enemies.
  • If you find yourself with a lot of money, you can buy promotion items from the preparation shop.
  • The tower of Valni and the Ruins bosses give you money, that’s to avoid softlock but I know some players avoid using the tower to train, so it’s something you don’t need but there’s if you want.
  • For the sake of testing, I added cheat weapons, you can use them if you want (but you’ll be labeled as a cheater).

The selection of characters is my own and is also based in the available portraits and how well they can fit in the position of some characters.

  • I know Kent and Sain are not from FEA neither from FETH, they are the only exception (and maybe the first Christmas cavalliers of many Fire Emblem players).
  • Lysithea can use dark magic, maybe that broke a bit the character (or not because she doesn’t have a lot of constitution), I made that because she uses mainly dark magic in FETH (and she can also use Fire if changed to be a mage).
  • There’s a reason why Hilda have an Orion’s Bolt, I think you can suppose why she appears with one.
  • Edelgard and Dimitri have two promotion options, if you don’t use the bracelets when given the option you can use them later and choose what you want.
  • The growthrates of Shez are weird, but since she comes from a musou instead from a tactics game can be understandable. She’s based in her mirmidon class, if I’ve choosen a more advanced class her growths would be more crazy!

The project is complete, but I’m still testing to find problems I can solve. There are some graphical glitches, but the game is playable. Thanks for your suggestion. I though about that at first, but I decided not to do it… For now at least. Maybe I’ll decide to change them sometime and take account on your suggestions (I also though about Cervantes being Tirado, Kostas being one of the first brigant bosses and Yen’fay being Carlyle).
Still, Lyon and Vigarde whould remain untouched, they fit as the villains in this story.

I don’t play FEH, I don’t like gacha games and I don’t like to be forced to be online to play alone. But I like the illustrations, I got to the FEH Wikia to download them.

damn mine has crashed on the second turn of the prologue

You’re the only one who addressed that error. How did you patched your rom? Do your rom have a header?
I tried the same emulator as you and I had no problem, two turns of prologue and here’s the first chapter:

I just patched it normal through NUPS, not sure what you mean by header. This is on easy mode if that matters? I have deleted it and redownloaded it and same thing.

I see what’s happening there. Yes, it’s because you’re playing on easy, it didn’t crashed for me but it doesn’t allow me to make a move. The game try to search an enemy to mark to make you attack him, but both enemies moved to attack you. I can try to find a solution to that. Anyway I recommend you to play on normal. I think the game turns from easy to normal after the first chapters.

Skills make the game more complex to emulate but the main problem is they can easily break the game or produce errors (I still remember a hack where an enemy with 5 str got a debuff of 6 str and he became a beast with 255 str by overflow), and Sacred Stones is not designed to have more skills that the ones it has. Also a lot of people don’t like “Skill Emblem”, so I decided not to make it more complicated.

About the music, I can try in future versions, but I’ve to learn how to do it well.

Solved! The new patch is uploaded. Now you can play on Easy mode. I had to buff those soldiers. I tried the prologue on Easy mode and in Hard mode, it’s playable.
How I solved it? I made the first soldier level 20, and he only got 2 defense. :sweat_smile:

Literally that’s what I was thinking, I was like watch it’s because I’m on easy mode and I kill these soldiers before my turn lol

Now the first soldier will endure the first counter. It’s funny to see in Easy mode the second soldier dies still when he survives the strike of the Gatekeeper (this happens because the weapon triangle is tripled in attack and doubled in accuracy).

I changed som of the main bosses, not all of them (and I like some of the original ones to stay), but I chosed some that fitted. I think TheEmeraldKing267 will be happy, some of the changes I made fit with his ideas. :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

Two of the new bosses are brothers, so now they appear toguether in both routes. Also I added the boots in one of the cheat stores.
