[FE8]Fire Emblem: Pyrathi Warlords [Complete]

Aside from a few supports and a planned addition for a hard mode, yes. It is fully complete.

is the normal mode in this like fe8 normal mode? if it is a bit harder I might just play it now. I love hard moe on FE games because a lot of the times, normal is just way too easy for me.

For my first full scale hack I overtuned the difficulty a bit too much and made it very difficult. So for this one I tried intentionally to make it easier, but it should still be more difficult than vanilla Sacred Stones. I’d also reccomend having played it as is before the hard mode release, as the hard mode release will be inspired by Lunatic Reverse from New Mystery of the Emblem. So it won’t just be higher stats, it’ll be enemies attacking first. So knowing what you can do with the game already would be pretty important.

Just tried them and… Well, the republicans are bugged. Mace can duplicate himself. And I mean duplicate, not revive after I kill him. And this happens every time I attack him, I am against 5 Maces at the moment. Not only that, Falchion makes it impossible to damage them in close combat unless you use a crossbow.

Meanwhile, in the royalist’s faction, I can’t open door. Any door. This means I won’t be able to defeat Agnes, because I have no way of opening the door and she won’t move, as she doesn’t have any way to attack me. This has been an error that has happened through the whole game: dark mages unable to use dark magic. There’s a lot of those and Agnes is one of them in this chapter. She can’t even use Swarm.

It’s a good thing I’ve got you to play them then. They haven’t been play tested as much as the main game (that’s mainly why I’ve changed the title to Routes A and B Finished and not the whole game finished). Though I’m a bit embarrassed by those issues as that was me simply forgetting to add the doors and the flag off for mace. The Royalist one was actually a rehash of the Temple of Flames chapter from the main game originally, but I felt it weird to have one chapter from the main game when all the other chapters were from other games, so I changed it to a Blazing Blade chapter that makes some tangential sense to them.

What other points have Dark Mages not been able to use their tomes? I know exactly why they can’t, but I need to hunt down every instance of them and fix them individually.

I don’t remember all of them, sadly. I’ll replay the game in the following days, but I can try and make some memory until then. Let’s see…
This is because all of them lacked either the Shadowgift skill, the Black Door item or the weapon skill to use dark magic. In the bridge chapter where you fight Rene during Mace route there is a shaman with Glower but an insufficient weapon skill to use it, for example.
In the Royalist’s battle I must take out Agnes and beat her but I can’t. Her case? Same as the shaman I mentioned previously: a C weapon skill and two magic tomes with higher weapon skill, Glower being an A and Swarm a B.

I never said anything about them because they didn’t bother me. I could either reach them or skip them without losing the chapter. It does bother, however, in the Royalist’s battle because you must kill Agnes but you can’t.

I’ve just done a once over and caught a few more. I think I changed Thoron’s tome rank which undid a few. So download the latest version if you do play again.

Question.
What difficulty was this hack balanced around?

It’s balanced around normal mode. If you’re playing Hard mode and finding it too easy that would be because I removed the enemy bonuses on Hard mode. Since I plan on implementing my own Hard Mode Lunatic Reverse as a parallel patch when I’m done writing supports.

No, its the opposite-
I was wondering why these enemies are so hard lmao

The enemies shouldn’t be significantly harder than vanilla Sacred Stones. What part are you at?

Chapter 4
And uhhh
Those mercenaries do be hitting 11 Speed and hard.

Ah, the boat chapter. Yeah, I’ve had someone else say that there’s an unreasonable difficulty spike there. I’ll have to tone it down a bit.

Yep, that was me . The biggest issue is their weapons and speed. A -1 in speed would do good, and specially a change to Iron weapons. That Lancereaver in a merc is insane. The good thing is that the following chapters are very easy.

And speaking about the next chapters… Jotari, after the shipwreck you are stranded in an island, right? The island is full of pirates and all of them have stealable money, right? Well, that money doesn’t exist. I mean, I steal the money but my “funds” don’t go up, as if I hadn’t stolen at all. The next chapter (prison chapter, 6) doesn’t have this problem.

I think that might be because that chapter has the same id as the original chapter where you play as Ephraim in Sacred Stones. There was a patch that removes all that functionality, but maybe it needs to be reinstalled as a result of my messing around with skill editing like the Salamander Statues.

Two announcements. One, the game’s name has been changed to Pyrathi Warlords. It’s been something I’ve been mulling over for a while and it just fits better in a thematic sense for the name of the game than a loose Thracia reference. The other announcement is that the game is finished! I’m sure there will be a few more updates as people find typos and I have to fix bugs, but in terms of content, the game is finished. So if you’ve been putting off playing the game until the full experience is out there, then procrastinate no longer.

Special Thanks to Thorn for doing a huge amount of work on Archanea portraits, FlyingKitsune for always being active on the Discord and playing frequently, along with everyone else who suggested a character and, finally, of course 7743 who not only created FireEmblem Builder GBA, but has always been there to rely on with issues and errors despite the language barrier. I love you all.

Finished? I thought it was finished a month ago! Anyway, I’ll have to play it again. I just hope the ultimate challenge is a little less challenging this time.

Just confirming, this used to be called Pyrathi 609 right? Just trying to make sure I update the right hack

Yes, this is the one.

PD: I hope this time we actually get money when stealing in… That one chapter right after the shipwreck, when all our characters all spread through the prison island.

A and B route were finished at the start of the year. What’s finished now is everything else. That is to say I’ve written all the supports. I think the number is 84 or something, one more than vanilla Sacred Stones and with the exception of Christopher-Ferrin, all done by me. It took a while X[ Much more sympathy for the support writers I criticize in mainline Fire Emblem.

The other big update with this finished stamp is Hard Mode which now works like Lunatic Reverse in New Mystery.
