[FE8] [Complete] The Sun God's Wrath (Final release - 27 Chapters, no fatigue, 100% growth now added - 5/22/2022)

@Blademaster

Just finished this amazing hack, Thanks!

  • Story was pretty good , i liked that no1 was safe in this hack wich makes it little more realistic ala Game of Thrones!
Had some shocked moments when some1 died, but what i didnt like so much was that the story got very convoluted at times with WAY too many ppl and places to remember, half the time i didnt know who was related to who lol >.<

  • Gameplay on Hard was more like a difficulty above it imo but i managed after many tries and Dead units!
What i didnt like was the Capture+Steal combo to get gold and items though, it made the gameplay go longer then it needed and was very tedious since i never had space for the items, i would rather have strategic placed units that drop items so u have to work for it and keep going.

  • Missions, never got bored with them and LOVED the reward system for this, wish more hacks would use it!!

  • Fav music : Copy X (MMZ) loved this song so much !!

  • Fav char: Astrea

Looking forward to ur next hack!

Thanks, I’m really glad you liked it! When you work on this hack as long as I did, you come to not realize how much of a problem so many characters can be. I wish I could’ve fixed it.

If you don’t mind me asking, which characters are you referring to and how would you have wanted to fix ‘em?

Honestly, I don’t know. I would have cut down the cast somehow.

I’m just desperately hoping I didn’t miss anything in the desert. I found a rescue, juna fruit, and a member card.

The discord has the map of what items are in the two desert maps.

The chapter 18 green units. Amazing.

Yeah, I just thought to do something more fun there than have some boring NPCs.

So, apparently there is a secret shop in chapter 23, but I’m admittedly unsure if it’s like previous chapters with shops (having an enemy with a card standing on the space).

I think it said that it’s somewhere at the beginning.

How did you get the animation for the geomancer to not stop the music when attacking?

I made it use a sound effect that FE8 supports by changing it in the animation script.

That’s not hard, is it?

It requires basic animation scripting knowledge, which I would say is not hard.

Sorry for bumping this thread but I really need another opinion or two on the fatigue system.

If the creator of the hack says it is intended to play the hack with fatigue, I’d rather tend to do so. I don’t want the game to become needlessly easier when I play without it.

…however. I’ve never played one of the SNES Games (yet) and the only FE game I’ve played that features fatigue, is Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Needless to say, I fucking hated it there to the core and thought it was pointless beyond any reason. It was basically the cherry on top of one of the worst Fire Emblem experiences I’ve ever had.

So, yeah, should I play with or without it? Is there any point to it or does it only add extra inventory to the game? Do I get enough consumables for the fatigue system anyway so I will always be able to deploy and train my fixed 12-14 Units?

The Fatigue System ideally exists so that players rotate their cast and give every member a fair shake, letting you see them shine in ways that don’t tend to be as obvious while simply looking at stat sheets, Additionally the game itself does provide a large and balanced enough cast that you always get to rotate without losing too much power, and towards the end of the game you get enough chances to stockpile fatigue recovery items that you won’t need to rotate your favorite and strongest units anymore.

I really liked the fatigue implementation in this game, reminded me of the first proper playthrough i did of thracia where i used 90+% of the cast, something no mainline fire emblem game ever accomplished, before or after, So i really recomend to keep the fatigue system on as it’s a fun experience.

The general perception for this hack is that fatigue generally doesn’t matter. All it will really do is possibly force you to take a break with a character you may be over using if you don’t use one of the fatigue reducing items. SGW gives you a ton of perfectly viable units, so you won’t ever feel like your army is suddenly very weak and struggling to complete content.

Thanks for the replies, really appreciated. I’ll give it a try with the fatigue system then.
Might as well brace myself for playing the SNES games one day.

Technically only Thracia had fatigue, FE4 just has huge maps

You could say Fe4 has player fatigue.
