It’s been a long one at least! One that has only moved on to a second phase after the release, but I am having fun and am glad to see people enjoying the hack.
Trying to beat chapter 14 without promoting any units seems to be very hard. I think I need to use those Seals now. I was kinda waiting for my tier 1 units to reach 20 before promoting them.
Are you playing on normal or hard mode? One of the balance feedbacks I’ve gotten is that waiting until level 20 to finally start promoting is the optimal strategy.
I’m playing it on normal since it is my first run. Gonna re-play it on hard for my second. Leveling them up to 20 before promoting was my plan but I had to retry ch14 a number of times coz of someone dying. I may just be unlucky with my levelups so far.
Here is what my lineup looks like so far in ch14:
I’m playing in hard mode and damn is this difficult! Probably one of the best hard modes I’ve ever played. Just a couple questions. I’d Hard mode the intended difficulty? And when do you think would be the most optimal time to start using master seals? I saw in a previous post it was lvl 20 but I was wondering if you had some recommendations for hard mode? Yeah hanks again for such an incredibly well done hack!! I’m loving every second I’m playing!
Other than your Dexithea’s strength, it doesn’t seem to me that you’ve been RNG screwed.
For your first playthrough, hard mode is not recommended.
The consensus by some people on the discord is that promoting by level 20 is best because you level up faster when you are unpromoted and get class skills faster.
I always promoted when I got to level 15 in tier 1, but optimal promotion time is something being discussed for the next balanced patch.
I think my Derek’s STR is also low for his growth. And he already has a STR +10 scroll also. Other than that I’m enjoying playing this hack. It’s one of the challenging hacks I’ve played.
Thanks for the info man! Yeah, I think I’m just gonna start a new game on normal. I’ve already lost 7 guys and I’ve had to restart more times than I ever have in any fire emblem game I’ve played and I’m only on chapter 8. Don’t get me wrong I love the difficulty but to learn about all the new stuff you added normal sounds like a good play through. I plan on playing through multiple times and hopefully when you get the lunatic patch out I’ll be an expert
That’s not a glitch, that’s intentional and plenty of other hacks use it too. Fast hand axe animations, I think it was called?
this great the hack continues like this
Sorry, I’m not good at English.
What a great hack with tons of new classes! And I love it so much.
Thank you Blademaster for your fantastic work.
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it! There are some minor mistakes, but your English is just fine and perfectly understandable!
Hey! I just got to chapter 21, and… Wow, Lex got absurdly broken. He went from doing minimal damage while cowering behind Condor to zooming through battlefields mowing enemies down with Condor lagging behind. Even Evan with his 100 crit can’t murder things as efficiently. He’s ridiculous, but… it’s the fun kind of ridiculous, you know? Besides, it’s not like he has much of an enemy phase. Evan and Condor are still my best tanks.
Speaking of Condor, I think Condor and Lex is my favorite support in the hack. That ending was glorious. I’m not even sure what exactly happened in their A support, but I love it.
Anyway, I figured this was as good a time as any to report a few more issues that I’ve encountered. This should be a shorter post than the last one, thankfully.
-
Canto doesn’t seem to work properly on dragon veins. If I recall correctly, they also mess with galeforce, though Lex’s canto+ worked on them for some reason.
-
Baine and Remmy have bright outlines, like the ones in FE6 and 7. This makes them stand out among the rest of the characters, who all have FE8’s darker outline color. It does help make Baine look more eerie, so maybe you could keep it if you want (though I’d still recommend checking how it looks when fixed), but there’s no reason for Remmy to have it as well.

Several battle animations are glitchy when missing. For example, when female trueblades miss, the hitsound still plays. The new spells seem to be particularly troublesome, with a few animations breaking or outright not playing if the attack misses. I think my favorite example of magical wonkiness is this:
This random mage missed with arcthunder, and for a second, he started spinning like crazy. Not that you can tell in this still screenshot, but I assure you, he was spinning. It was hilarious. -
Torrid starts with a dark tome he cannot use.
-
In chapter 20, Nina shows Ryan and Mirielle a killing edge that I think belonged to her husband. The sword, for some reason, ends up in Fuuma’s inventory.
After seeing the man again, I have a feeling this may’ve been intentional, but still, it feels weird how the blade just teleports to Fuuma, who wasn’t even present in the scene. -
Bramimond’s palette is slightly iffy. Shouldn’t be a difficult fix - change the stray blue to a shade of green like the rest of his cape, and it should be good to go.
-
On the subject of palettes, Victor’s palette is really weird. Doesn’t fit him at all, and it looks rather broken.
Typos
His and Zypher’s fighting style
and the queen of Ryu, Iris
Kind of a nitpick, but it’s Brave Sword, not Hero Sword.
I would be happy to
A marvelous display
Ryan calls Pyron “Pyro”. I get that he’s supposed to cut himself off when he notices Gill, but I personally feel it looks iffy. Maybe change it to “So you’re Pyro–!”, so it’s clearer that he didn’t finish his sentence.
No typo here. I just wanted to acknowledge that I love this game. I’ll go into more detail about it in a future post, but… yeah. I love this game.
I’m pretty sure he’s talking about stuff she left behind, so this should be “she left some junk here when she left”
Their typical weakness
Fairly certain “preocuppies” doesn’t require a hyphen.
That’s kinda wonky grammar, if I’m not mistaken. “While he’s gone” might look better.
There are only two dots in the middle of Larry’s stuttering. This is the smallest, most nitpicky typo report in the history of mankind. I’m sorry I even brought it up.
You close the parenthesis, and then close it again without opening a new one.
Small nitpick, but why does he say Nia’s name when Nia’s standing right in front of him? Maybe you could have him say “the man who killed your father?”
So many of the slave rations
After Cyrus disappeared, I worried
Maybe this isn’t even a mistake at all, but Watch claims that Leo said there were three demon kings left… and yet four show up immediately afterwards.
And that’s it for now. I think I’ll make one more post after I finish the game, where I’ll review the hack in more detail. For now, though, keep up the good work!
Really? I must say, unless you mean waiting until level 20 for tier 3, I disagree. I’m playing on hard, and I’ve promoted most people to tier 2 around level 15 and to tier 3 around level 20 (even earlier in some cases. Relina, for example, was falling behind, so I gave her both promotions sooner).
I haven’t had any problems. Most of my units always felt powerful enough, and those who didn’t wouldn’t have been saved by a later promotion (Katherin’s garbage strength…). Heck, I promoted Lex to bow knight earlier than level 20 and he’s still completely broken.
Lex is the only character with Galeforce. Are you saying Lex could activate Dragon’s Veins?
I thought this might be the case for Remmy. Thank you, I will correct this.
What version of the patch are you using? Arcthunder was supposed to have been fixed in the most recent version. If you can be more specific in regards to what other animations aren’t working, that would be helpful.
Torrid and Clea, of whom you can only get one, both start with the same equipment so you don’t miss out on any items.
I will update those two battle palettes.
I’m glad you were able to pick up on the reference in that typo!
In regards to the last typo, its never fully explained but they find more. I’ll add more dialogue to that point.
Thank you again for the detailed feedback! I’m glad you’re enjoying the hack!
I didn’t explain myself properly. The Dragon Veins themselves work fine. What I was saying is, if a unit is standing on top of a Dragon Vein, it makes some skills glitch out.
I just ran some quick tests, and I can confirm it: canto and galeforce don’t work when the unit is standing on top of Dragon Veins. However, canto+ does work. That’s kinda weird.
Hmm, well, it is true that the spinning mage was a while ago. Perhaps it just happened before the fix released. I must’ve missed the note on the change log.
Ahhhh, I understand. I’m going to assume they’re tied to the same event as the previous Arran/Samson, as I never found out what became of this Clea.
I’ll look into this. That sounds very strange. Not sure why being on a tile would cause some skills to stop working.
Does Nihil cancel out Watchful or not? I’m at ch19 and I’m running out of resources so I was hoping to capture some units but almost all enemy units have Watchful now.
The Watchful spam is only in chapter 19, actually. You’ll get to capture things again in the following chapters, don’t worry.
Thanks for that info! I considered selling Master Seals but they don’t even have any price. Even gems were scarce the past chapters.
Yes, Watchful, insight, and towershield+ all bypass Nihil.
