Glad you liked the game! There’s a sequel available, too, if you’d like to continue the story. You can find ‘The Shadow of Dawn’ on this website. ![]()
U should add a link in the 1st post so ppl dont miss the sequel, it would be a crime against humanity !! ![]()
dude, I’m on chapter 10 and I just had to log in here and let you know that I’m having the time of my life—I’m very picky when it comes to romhacks but this was highly recommended and I’m so glad I decided to give it a shot!
As someone who is physically incapable of letting characters die, I love how so many of them are essential and will result in Game Over when killed! That’s basically how I view almost all characters anyway, haha.
I’ll ge to you once I’ve finished it (it’s been two days and I’m thoroughly enjoying my Christmas break with this gem) but yeah, 10/10 no notes so far and I’m weak for archers so Miley is the goat.
(slight post chapter 9 spoilers)
Also, not Galen running away with my longsword and horseslayer in his inventory… I don’t know who was more upset, me or Miley, lmao.
Question: would you recommend promoting as soon as possible or when they’re level 20?
(Oh, and merry Christmas y’all!)
Merry Christmas! Glad you’re enjoying the game so far. Chapter 10 is a bit notorious for its difficulty spike, but I’m sure you can overcome it. I tend to promote around level 15, but people have been perfectly successful holding off until level 20. You might find it useful to promote at least one unit at or near the start of chapter 10 to have a more reliable defender on your team.
hello been playing the game for a while now and I’m at chapter 12x and for some reason I can’t use the guiding ring that madelina gave to julia, would like to know if this is a bug or something thanks.
If you’re trying to use it on Julia, read the Guiding Ring’s description again.
ah my bad I thought it was the usual thing. thanks a bunch
Julia gets her own special promotion item later on.
Just here to post my thanks to Mr. Vorgus and to say a job well done. From story to characters to designs all are marvelous. I love the fact that you kept your army members in the story and not be relegated to just background characters. The supports between characters felt real and well written. Every character especially Edric had great development. Some of the supports were hilarious. The Dark tones mixed well and did not pull punches. The surprise ending that set up the next game, did not see that coming. Favorite chapter probably 24. My best units vs a whole army on a huge map is always a favorite of mine.
My only gripe was some of these supports took way too long to reach. Other than that remarkable game, will play Shadow of Dawn next.
idk why but everyone has been getting shit level ups for me. I’m on chapter 4 and I can count on one hand the number of levels that have had a +3 increase or higher. I know none of them have particularly impressive growths but its gotten ridiculous. I might get softlocked by having an entirely stat screwed army
invest in Hilda .. her growth rate in late game is good. .
As if on cue, I complain about bad level luck and suddenly Shorn pops two 5 pointers in a row
Yep, chapter 10 is insane but I managed to keep everyone alive by the slimmest of chances and waited for my main squad to reach level 20 before promoting them. It’s my rule, if you don’t reach 20, you won’t get promoted and nobody dies on my watch.
Are there enough promotion items for everyone or do I have to be really choosey? I figured that since there’s almost zero class redundancy there should be enough for everyone but I’m on chapter 17 and still have several unpromoted units.
There are enough promo items for all but one unit. Starting in Chapter 17 master seals start dropping pretty frequently.
In the final game, are you going to establish the master seal as the only promotion item or stick with the traditional system?
To be determined. For simplicity’s sake, I am leaning to master seals for all.
Thank you, and maybe Holy seals for the lords![]()
Doing Chapter 22, how do I re-recruit Elyse? talking to her with Edric and Galen isn’t doing anything. Did I miss a requirement?
You can defeat her here without any issues. She’ll rejoin next chapter.
