[FE8][Complete] Minutes Before Sunset [Minihack]

Insured Prophecy.emulator-6

The prophecy is at risk of not being fulfilled, and the Prophet is not happy.

  • Units with different forms
  • Each form has their own health bar and action
  • Super powerful Prophet-sponsored artifacts
  • Resume to go back to the start of last turn (not on agony mode)
  • Saving the world

This was made to be a challenge hack where you to have bust through a whole army under limited time constraints with some seriously strong characters.

Choose the regular patch for a fair challenge.
Choose agony mode to experience the version submitted to Super Hit Post and be very sad.

I really wish it was Seconds to Sunset like Minutes to Midnight

Or 30 Seconds to Saturn like 30 Minutes to Mars

Damn, should’ve done that for the alliteration.

Yeah this is good stuff. Expected it to be much harder, but not complaining, it was fun.

That’s a mad flex.

Very fun one chapter hack! I really like the gimmicks of units, as they have various roles (area damage, debuff, taunting, etc) to help tackle what at first looked like an unwinnable situation.

Scariest moment was I didn’t pay much attention and Village Elder survived at 1 HP in enemy phase lol.

I’ve also played Closing Act (which was great) but I like having OP units so I enjoyed playing this a bit more. Guess I have to check out Cerulean Crescent.

Thanks for playing! This was my attempt at making something challenging for once. Glad it turned out well.

Just played it as well - it was really awesome! I really enjoyed the premise & writing here, it was hilarious. The core mechanic was very cool too, I love transforming units.

Hero was definitely the highlight for me, with all forms (except War Monk) having cool weapons + Relocate + Dark Wrap. The child units were also pretty fun, Berserking a dragon to take most of the High Priest’s health without taking counter damage was fun. Warrior did feel a bit underwhelming though, due to a mix of low mov, only one action (aside from Smite which is, uh, pretty useless) and focusing on enemy phase when I think I only had a single EP combat through the entire hack (and it wasn’t even with Warrior).

The bosses were cool too & it was fun to play around their gimmick. But as a Fire Emblem player, I cannot read, and thus lost Hero’s Hero form to the Chancellor’s vantage, leading me to being exactly 1 HP short of defeating the final boss. That’s on me though, and things went much more smoothly once I… didn’t do that.

Two minor bugs: for some reason, Healer’s dragon form started with 6 HP. It wasn’t too bad & I managed to play around it though. Also, one time I berserked a single Gore and a whole bunch of enemies started attacking each other for no apparent reason - it was hilarious though.

Thank you for making it, great hack!

Thanks as well!
1 HP off is absolutely unfortunate for the first run.
I’m kinda impressed you didn’t even need Warrior on EP to clear the chapter. All my attempts involved him clearing like 12 guys for one turn (and then being useless for every other turn).

The 6 Hp bug I’ve seen pop up infrequently and I have… Absolutely no idea!
The berserk bug is due to group AI freaking out, which… I also have absolutely no idea how to fix.
Yeah, not the greatest hacker around.

To be fair, I played on the normal patch, not agony mode - maybe that’s why I didn’t need Warrior. Also, on my very first attempt I tried enemy phasing with him turn 1 and he immediately died, so I didn’t try that again.
And no need to be hard on yourself, these bugs were really quite minor & the hack was awesome regardless!
