Grug 3 was an April Fools joke released last, last April Fools in the Stoned Stoners Discord which I whipped up like 5 hours before April Fools because I realized I hadn’t anything planned that year. It’s pretty low effort, however, I and a few others found that the challenge imposed by the limitations of Grug lore actually did make for an interesting game where HP becomes a finite and much more valuable resource on the battlefield, which makes planning out your strategy a bit more complex. I found that this type of gameplay was actually pretty fun, and I encourage you all to give it a shot too!

IT’S FINALLY HERE GUYS
GRUG 3!!!
Grug 3 is the result of 3 years of experimentation with the Grug formula, and thus we have come up with the perfect romhack that will fit everybody’s needs.
To start off, we have come to realize that not everybody will appreciate a fully custom hack, and so we took a page from the book of the widely accepted and popular PME movement in FEU!
As a result, I have decided to make little to no changes to the structure of the story and gameplay. I have in fact not touched a single line in the game.
The plot of this game will follow Grug (named Eirika in the story for some reason) as he goes around the continent of Magvel, facing other Grugs that have appeared from other universes.
Due to the limitations of the Grugverse and Grug as a character, we have had to make some unfortunate changes to the gameplay of Fire Emblem 8: The Sacred Stones:
-Grug is unable to read, and as such, all tomes will be identified as “Book”, and all staves “Stick”. Magic swords are now 1 range with no magic because Grug cannot harness their power. Tomes and staves can still be used, but they will be melee weapons with might equal to their weight.
-Because Grug is unable to read and has no potential for magic, no magic unit has a magic rank or stat.
-Grug is too heavy for any creature to be able to carry him into the sky, and as such, all flying units have been grounded as a result.
-Because Grug is an axe-brigand type unit, all infantry will be able to cross mountains. However, cavalry and magic units (twinks) will be unable to due to their low physique.
-Grug is not dexterous and thus is unable to pick locks. He is also a good person, so he will not steal.
-Healing items are too complicated for Grug, so he cannot use them as well. Forts are also included within this category.
