You should be able to hack in fixed growths yourself. Easiest way would be in FEBuilder.
Seems reasonable for someone to setup fixed growths on Vision Quest via FEBuilder. Wonder if someone would modify Vision Quest with either a Alternate Promotion or a Weapon Reversal patch in the near future with Pandan’s permission like The Last Promise Weapon Reversal.
Hey wanted to say I tried this hack in january, played a bit but it really just sparked my interest in fire emblem again, i didn’t get very far , got distracted with rediscovering other FE games
Coming back to it after playing a ton of other hacks & vanilla games, I’m on chapter 20-something and I gotta say this has the best gameplay by such a long shot in most every category; maps, difficulty, skills (not overboard), appropriate amount of characters, items/money management, objectives, etc.
you clearly know what you’re doing! bravo
of course it’s not perfect, but re-playing fe6 thru 8 made me realize just how troubled the originals really are, this fixes and improves so much of the formula
I might be dumb and somehow cannot find it, is there a chapter by chapter loot from villages/chests/objectives guide/doc anywhere? would really help makin informed choices based on what your squad is looking like

I’m on chapter 31 now, still having a blast. not even critiques, but just thoughts about FE8 hacking inspired by this game:
-in every FE8 hack i’ve played & original game, promotion items are this sort of weird thing. It has such a high incentive for hoarding that I think its hard to balance for abstractly, and i’ve always felt FE9 just tossing it out for the most part was a better solution overall, and then relegate a certain smaller portion of special promotions as story-timed/item. Not sure thats possible in FE8 hacking, like lvl 21 autopromotion. Universal promo seems like a step towards this anyways? I feet i’ve been given plenty in vision quest, but i still couldn’t help but hoard and i still don’t know if I might need these if a massacre happens. If I could have autopromo’d at 21, i would have sold plenty & reused the resource.
-Fog maps… Would it realistically be better to just provide the player with a map of just the INITIAL enemy placements? would probably be impossible to put in a hack, but i wonder if it would make it better, i like fog maps in general, but it just makes you want a soft-undo/rewind/restart early in the chapter. Or do we assume ppl look up these maps anyways and its more about how the enemies move around in the fog where we can’t see?
Overall, i love the format, and as a layman makes me wonder what stuff is just completely limited by hacking capabilities.

The version of Vantage in GBAFE skill system always sets crit to zero when it’s in effect.

Finished this game and really loved it. Probably my most favorite hack so far. Though I’m kind of curious about the ending.

Just finished this, was savoring it right up until the end, I got so sad when the chapter turned to “penultimate battle”, I know it was realistically time though. Might start another playthrough pretty quick.
Strong all the way through & in all the ways i mentioned before. infinite praise and a sequel would be insane.

It might only be 1 chapter, but man you’ll learn the hard way if you let cassius’ chicken get berserked

With Scissor Axe and in true Heroes Tradition - With a sword in the artwork that remains unused. Although if honeydew was an og character, they might released her with a sword just for the lols. I used Raven and Echidna as Inspiration for the lower part.

I think so. Paloma is from J&P Gaiden and Jamakaya is from Storge. They are all repallettes of Honeydew

Judging from a screenshot there, Neun appears to be an enemy (I don’t know if she can be recruited) and that’s no good for internet fame and fortune unless you’re Batta.
Neun is an Arran/Sampson recruitable in ch2 or so iirc
